I've seen and heard some about the box:confused3 What all do you leave in the boxes? where are they put at on DVC property? is it secure? I know the cost is worth it too. Is the any problems with having the box delivered to AKV then picked up at another DVC resort? If you have any photo's showing some stuff (just getting an idea of what to get and leave in the box)

Thank you

We love our Owner's Locker! They are stored in a climate controlled environment by John and his staff. No problem having it delivered to one resort and picked up at another. WE just did that a couple weeks ago. We even took it with us to Fort Myers for spring training in between.

We store things like full sized hair and facial care items, razors, walking shoes, computer router, laundry detergent, spices and condiments, tea, griddle, numerous small items like rain gear and nail care and a small tool kit. We even have a partial leftover box of oatmeal and pancake flour.

Here's what is in ours (sorry if any of this is TMI) - I just copied it - the formatting is a mess but you can see that you can fit a LOT!

Well, I just ordered my 3rd Locker, so you could say I'm a believer in the service! :thumbsup2

Here's a photo of the 2 Locker contents taken just prior to re-packing last May: http://www.flickr.com/photos/onepinktee/3543318691/ If you mouse over the photo, you'll see it has tags that describe everything.

I also have numerous photos taken during the packing process - that's one way I track what's in the boxes without having to write down every item or check it off the list while I'm packing. Those photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/onepinktee/tags/ownerslocker/

And I just updated my list after my trip a couple of weeks ago. This was why I ordered the 3rd Locker - the first two are really full and if I want everything to fit, I have to pack it carefully, which takes time. A third Locker will eliminate that. But that's it, I'm stopping there. I'm not an addict or anything. ;)

Holy crapola!! That's a LOT of stuff!! You go!!:woohoo:

What a list, Tara! And I thought our 2 lockers were full!
KyCruisinSusan,
You can search this forum and find many posts about Owner's Locker. The reviews are all excellent and even cheapskates like me find them to be worth every penny. You will not find better service anywhere on the planet much less at the World. You will get an e-mail a couple of weeks before your scheduled trip reminding you of the date and place your locker(s) will be delivered (great idea, in case you changed dates or resort and forgot to change the info at Owner's Locker). You will get a text message on the day that your lockers are delivered and a text message on the day that your lockers are picked up for storage. And if you ever need a last minute change or an additional locker while at WDW, the Owner's Locker guys will do everything in their power to accommodate you on the spot.
Just wait until your second trip, when you arrive to have all of your stuff waiting for you. You will be joining the rest of us who :love: our lockers!

Love, LOve, LOVE our Owners Locker!!!!

Tara, your list is amazing. I thought I had an amazing amount of stuff in our OL's but our list pales in comparison.:goodvibes

I second everything Jean said about customer service - you would be hard-pressed to find a company that does customer service better!

I'm confused. I didn't think OL was run by Disney. I thought it was a separate company and that your OL was taken and stored off Disney property. Am I wrong? & if so how does the process exactly work?

You are not wrong - it is a separate company. Frankly, I don't think Disney could do it as well as John and Brian do! Lockers are stored in a climate-controlled facility. On your initial visit, your Locker is left at bell services at your resort (usually it's there before you are!). You fill it up during your stay, use the provided numbered seals to close it and then leave it with bell services when you check out. The Purple Van picks up Lockers in the afternoon and returns them to the warehouse - I am usually sitting in the A125 gate area waiting for my flight when I get the text saying my Lockers are back "home."

They're pretty flexible, too - they can meet you at the airport if you are cruising or going to the beach.

Add us to the OL Groupies! Every time, and I mean every time, that we go to WDW DH again proclaims what a fantastic service this is. I second Tara on the scissors, must have scissors! We have used ours for WDW stays, as well as three DCL cruises (they were willing to make arrangements to meet us at MCO before and after.) As others have stated, customer service is beyond fantastic. Both John and Brian are truly some of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Totally and completely worth every penney.

OK - Dumb question time...

On your subsequent visits - how do you get the zip tie OFF? I ran into this problem when I cleverly zip-tied the zippers on our luggage on our last trip...

Even if you keep scissors in your locker - they're in the locker? :confused3

And you can't pack them to carry on....

I finally managed to pry one off, but wondered what to do next time...

Not a dumb question at all! They actually pull off fairly easily. They have a little tab to pull on them to break the tie. They are numbered, so you would know if someone else broke the tie other than yourself.
