I just watched it last night for the first time. OMG SO GOOD.
*spoilers*
The machine thingy that Hugh Jackman's character uses clones him whenever he uses it, so each of the men in the water is one of the clones.
And Christian Bale's character is a twin, but that's pretty self-explanitory.
I kinda figured out the clone part after the bit with the cat, but I couldn't figure out what was up with Christian Bale's character... and when it was revealed I was like, THAT explains it!
But yeah. Two Christian Bale's on the screen at the same time? YUMMY.
But yeah. SUCH a good movie.
WEll said.
Christian bale = LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE
I saw this movie twice in theatres (free, i work there lol)
and now I own it.
I really liked it the first two times I saw it.
But then....(dun dun dun)
I READ THE BOOK! (yes! it was a book first!)
and they left sooooooooooooooooooooo much out of the movie and I was really dissapointed.
The book is infinitly better.
But if i hadn't read the book, the movie would be awesome.
Anyways yes;
*spoilers*
Fallan (Fallen? Dunno how to spell it, anyways. the assistant dude)
He is Borden's twin brother, and that is actaully how the did the transported man trick...Borden never had a clone, he had a TWIN!
And "TESLA" was the key to the cypher of his diary just to throw Angier off.
Essentially, he sent Angier on a wild goose chase.
BUt Angier ends up coming out on top because Telsa really CAN make a cloning machine.
So in ANgier's version of THE TRANSPOTED MAN, he uses clones and then he kills them after each show so there is no evidence.
(and his stage hands are blind so they can't tell what he's doing!)
SO there ya go.
That's my explaination.
I figured it out after the second time I watched it, so maybe watch it again.
And then everything became crystal clear when I read the book.
p.s; ILOVECHRISTIAN BALE <33333
