Stuff in the Mail!

I got home tonight, and what was sitting on my counter? :scared1:

A lovely info packet from WDW travel. It had some nice park maps (not as nice as the ones you can send for), a handy-dandy packing checklist where you can list your ressie #s, flight info, and such, and info about CSR.

It also had a lot of info about WDW with toddlers, but :yoda: doesn't toddle yet, he just rolls over.

I am so excited! This trip is actually going to happen!

Also, prices on the flights I was looking at dropped by $25. Do I buy or do I wait? I'm so confused! :crazy2:

Hi Bev,
Your plans sound great - it is a short trip but you seem to have planned really well, you'll get a bit of everything!
Love the Top Ten! :thumbsup2
i love the Dole Whip too! :worship:
I'm also quite partial to the cocktails that WDW provide - only for the light up ice cubes of course ;)
You have to try the fresh crepes and the choc mousse at France - yummy! :lovestruc
It's so exciting when your Disney mail arrives - I'm hoping mine arrive any day now! :worship:
Keep posting

I know! It's like Christmas when the Disney mail comes! :dance3:

We hope so. We think this is a good time frame for baby's first trip, but we're hoping to see and do as much as we can! :goodvibes

I can't wait to have one--so yummy!

That's two votes for the mousse--I guess that means I'll have to get some--I'm not too upset about that! :woohoo:

I heart Disney mail--I hope yours comes soon!

Stuck! A true story.

Well, now that I've run out of things to say for the time being, I'll tell you (or maybe just me :sad2: ) some stories of my fondest WDW memories.

And here's the first one--this may be one of the highlights of all of my trips ever.

It was a Saturday night (I think), and DH and I were at MK. We had ridden most of our faves already, so we went back for another ride of Splash Mountain. It started out the way that it usually does, floating around, seeing Brer Rabbit, hearing the happy music, etc.

But then, as our little log was climbing up one of the hills on the way to the big SPLASH, it stopped. Here we were, stuck at about a 45-degree angle, on Splash Mountain. I don't know what keeps those logs from going backwards, but I'm glad it was there!

And so, we sat. And we sat. And we sat a little more. Then we starting calling and texting people back home to tell them we were stuck. Here's a little tip: If you want to get a good seat for the Spectromagic Parade, get stuck on Splash Mountain. We sat in our little log and watched all of the floats ride by below. You have to turn your head a little to see it all, but it's worth it!

Finally, after a while (probably no more than 10-15 minutes, but I like to draw it out for dramatic effect), the log started to move. We were safe! :cool1:

And then for the demonic part. I guess the ride wasn't still at 100 percent, because when we resumed Brer Rabbit's adventures, there was NO MUSIC. All of the little creatures were just flapping their little jaws, but nothing was coming out. The only sound we heard was the clicking noises that each creature made. Spooky.

So, there you go. Reading this back, I know it doesn't seem too exciting or terrifying, but just take my word, people--IT WAS. :scared1:

Coming up next: I don't know! I'll have to think about it.

I'd be creeped out by the animals creaking!

I totally agree! It is DH's own personal nightmare to be stuck in IASW - he's scared to turn round in case they start massing toward him! :rotfl2: He also tries to terrify the twins by telling them that the 'dolls' are really naughty children dipped in wax by their parents and left there! :lmao: :rolleyes1
They don't believe him...but secretly he truly does! ;)

:thumbsup2 I am so jealous!!!!!! I wish I only had 100 days!!! I have a TON of Mickey heads. I was going to start mine at 300 but haven't yet.

Did you get all of your Mickey heads in one shot, or do you sneak into Home Depot and grab a few here and there? I was just in there the other day and didn't get any--silly me! :faint:

I've written the countdown days in my planner and will probably do a countdown screensaver, but I don't know if I'll do the Mickey heads this time. :yoda: would just try to eat them.

I can't wait for you to start your countdown. Are you still going to post it on your fridge?

I'd be creeped out by the animals creaking!

It was seriously so freaky! :scared1: It seemed like we'd entered into this weird, dead-Animatronic-creature ghost town.

:rotfl2: Does that help the twins behave?
There's a fine line between cute and creepy sometimes, and while I love IASW, I can see where some of those kids could cause nightmares!

I have a ton of Mickey heads. I got over 300 in one shot! :rotfl2: You can have some when I see you on 9/20. :flower3:

BTW: I officially began WW again yesterday.

I would love some Mickey heads! :thanks:

:cheer2: Good job and much luck to you! Coincidentally, I have been debating whether or not to keep going (I've missed two weeks in a row :sad2: ) and pulled out the tracker Sunday and got started again. I decided I like fitting into my clothes, so it's worth the work. Is there a center near you, or are you doing the online program?

How have I not checked in here since being back? Sorry :flower3:

Firstly Bean is so cute, he's looking like he's getting big now too :goodvibes

Second we ate at WCC and sorry but it was the worst food of our whole trip, really dried up :scared:

And last wow that must have been scary on Splash but bonus view of the parade :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Cool. I think I have like 200 extra! :lmao:

I became Lifetime in 1997 after having Gabby so I do it mostly myself and with the help of the WW's site and www.dwlz.com She's the best for restaurants. :thumbsup2 I never got much out of the meetings. It's all about the first 2 weeks for me. If I can muddle through with mild success, I'm golden. If not, I'm sunk. :goodvibes

Congrats on fitting into your clothes. My pants are so tight if I tooted, they'd split! ;)

That's OK, you've been busy with your TR, but welcome back! :goodvibes

Firstly Bean is so cute, he's looking like he's getting big now too :goodvibes
Thanks! He is getting big. We figure he's grown 1.5 inches (sorry I don't know metric :) ) since his last appointment--three weeks ago!

That's good to know! I wasn't expecting the best food ever, but if it's not even edible, I may have to look at other options. Any recommendations? The day we're scheduled to eat there is DH's grandparents actual anniversary date, so we want to do something fun.

That's the only time I've ever seen that parade! It was a great view!

That's OK we use both inches and CM :thumbsup2

Japan (Teppanedo) was our absolute favourite, delicious and fun, we had an awesome chef though :thumbsup2

Talking of losing weight, 14 days on the DDP and I lost 5 lbs :yay:

It's poll time!

So Jo has put some thoughts in my head:
We have an ADR for WCC on the night of DH's grandparents' 59th wedding anniversary. They're laid-back, fun people, so I thought that would be a fun place to go.

But based on Jo's thoughts about WCC, I'm starting to worry that we could do better! And I need some help. Any thoughts about this would be greatly appreciated!

Here are the factors I'm using to make my decision:
1. Preferrably, the restaurant should only use one TS credit (although we could reconsider this).
2. On this day, we'll be at AK in the morning/afternoon and MK in the evening, so it should be near one of those areas. But it doesn't have to be if there's some totally perfect, fabulous place we should try.
3. Grandma and Grandpa are willing to try new things, but it shouldn't be anything too spicy (their request) or anything that might be too different.

Based on this, what do you think?

Also, a quick question about Boma for those of you who have been:
How late do the buses run to and from AK after the park is closed? If we wanted to get from CSR to AKL for dinner, would we have to get a cab?

Thanks for your help!
