Tell me which day to do which park please! I have a general idea but want to know if I am on the right track

Here is the info you need:
5 park days - 1 day in each park, except 2 in MK
Park days are between September 25-30
One rest day
We want one day at MK on a Halloween party day (yes we know we have to leave early) and the other MK day on a non party day
Halloween party days while we are there: Sept 24, 26, 27,29 (not attending Halloween party!)
2 adults, + a princess obsessed 6 yr old
First time ever for everyone! :)

So far this is what I have:

Sept 25 (Wed) - Epcot
Sept 26 (Thur) - MK (party day)
Sept 27 (Fri) - Rest Day
Sept 28 (Sat) - HS
Sept 29 (Sun) - AK
Sept 30 (Mon) - MK (no party)

What do you think? :)

My only thought is that the parks tend to be a little busier on weekends. So If it was me, I'd do my rest day on Saturday or Sunday. And, since you'll have an early day Thursday, your sweet princess should still be well rested on Friday. You'll have a wonderful trip, no matter what parks you go to! On a side note, The Princess might fair better using her royal coach (stroller).

Might do the rest day on Saturday yes.. thanks!

Do your rest day on Saturday, your 2nd MK day on Sunday, and AK on Monday. I would do AK on Friday and DHS on Monday. Monday is typically more crowded at MK now.

I think your plan is just fine the way it is. The difference in the crowds is a bit Sun/Mon but not enough that I would concern myself with changing your plans. I looked on Touring Plans and what you have planned looks good.

I love your enthusiasm, and your desire to plan to the best advantage. After many trips, we still flesh out a day-by-day plan long before leaving home. Our philosophy is that our plan is the “default” and it eliminates any time wasted sitting around discussing where we are headed each day. That said, it is completely flexible and we can flip things around on any given day, as circumstances or our own desires dictate.

I agree with moving your rest day to Sat or Sun, knowing that you can push it back to Fri, if necessary. An early start at AK would be good on Fri, as you will have an early night on Thur.

A stroller for a 6 yr old may sound funny, but most 6 year olds are not conditioned for the distances to be covered in these parks. If you are on the fence, you can just rent one in the park, or even arrange for delivery of one. The amount of walking cannot be overstated, nor the toll taken by the heat.

Besides which park/which day considerations, think how much time you will spend and your focus in each park. If you prioritize seeing fireworks one night, it can be good not to plan a rope drop start the next morning.

It will likely be hot, hot, HOT while you are there, so early mornings and the evenings will be the more enjoyable times. Also, rain can definitely be a factor at that time of year. Both of these factors can impact your touring speed. Rain lightens the crowds, but can also dampen your enthusiasm for enjoying the overall park atmosphere. Trust me, unless you are a family of Texas marathoners, the conditions will take a toll on you. Keep reminding yourself that 4 - 5 happy hours in a park are way better than letting yourselves became over-heated and tired beyond exhaustion in order to “get your money’s worth”. One such day can derail the remainder of your trip.

I am sure you have heard many times that you cannot do everything. This is your first trip and as you pass on some attractions and shows, comfort yourself with the thought that it can be a “next time” thing. If you do this trip right, you will really want to visit again!

I select park days based on where I am staying not on which park is known to have larger crowds on specific days of the week.

I hope it works out? We also only do parks 2 days in a row and then take a rest day.

We travel with a 6 year old and if my daughter decided she did not need a stroller we would have a battle. The stroller is required.
