For all of you out there who still love the World and can't wait for your next trip, I'm starting this thread to help fuel my excitement for our trip. We are going to AKKV on Wed for a long weekend. We have our MBs, FP+, and even a FP+ ticket for lunch at BOG. I used to come on the DISboards to get tips and trips for the various attractions and to keep up to date on the latest goings on at the World. Now, many threads seem to be about how crowded it is, how people hate MBs, how the FP+ system is bad. To tell you the truth, I'm all for a little positive energy at this point.

So, looking for people to post here any info they have about the goings on at the World right now. What should I make sure not to miss? I've been to WDW over 30 times so am very familiar with the favorite rides and restaurants.

Looking for things like:
- Are there current treats or booths at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival that I should check out?
- Are there new characters or treats elsewhere? [ Not interested in hearing how long the lines are for Anna and Elsa ]
- What was your favorite moment in the past few months when you visited?

No negativism allowed on this thread. I'm so excited to be in the happiest place on earth. :cool1::cool1:

We'll be at MK in six days and are looking forward to the new parade, after watching the video on the disboards. :yay:

Ooooo...sounds great! We can hardly wait for you guys to start your adventure.:)
We are less than 2 weeks for our jump off and the yard is thawed and Spring birds are singing and geese are returning.

I have a Stitch hoodie coming in the mail to show My Disney Side. Our youngest DD is working on a sorta-Megara blue dress and DH is looking for black discs to add to the safari hat the girls made for him when they were little! There is even a green DIS logo painted on it from when one DD was 10.

DH and DD have finally 'dared' each other so much that they BOTH might have gotten the courage up to do the Summit Plummet plunge! I shall remain the 'chicken' photographer!

Been a long Winter and we're ready to bask in the sun. I plan on getting really wrinkly in the pool, first thing! :lmao:

Have a really great time!

I just contacted a TA for a proposed trip in November! So excited! I have been checking here for tips on new experiences.I'm leaning towards Wishes dessert party, dinner at 1900 Park Fare, and breakfast at 'Ohana! I am going in with positive vibes! I love planing in advance, but am relaxed enough for change. And to keep the positive vibe going, we are trying some WDW recipes! Maybe the thing I am looking forward to most, is letting the kids know we are going, but not telling them when! My plan, if I can keep it to myself, is to give them one date, but go earlier!

Thanks for the good feelings this morning!!

Sunshine and the POR pool are the first things I'm looking forward to. Our lawn still has snow. :faint: We're arriving in the morning so we can have all day to enjoy the resort and DTD, continuing the tradition of getting soaked in the fountains on our first day and hopefully convincing DH that ice cream for lunch is a good idea.

See, I didn't even know there was a new parade. I'll check that out! Thanks.

These extras sound awesome! I'm looking forward to the sun too! It's been a long winter!

I am going mostly for relaxation this time. This is the first time we've gone without kids in about 20 years! They are both in college and very confused why we would want to go without them :confused3

I've never been able to get the Wishes party. That sounds like fun!

Good idea on the WDW recipes! I wish I had thought of that earlier.

DH and I are going over Labor Day weekend for our first couple-only trip, and I couldn't be more excited! We booked the new sparkling wine and dessert party for Illuminations, and I am still changing my ADRs, Planning is part of the excitement for me. Have a wonderful trip:)

Ah, we went labor day weekend one year. It was fabulous. Every ride was walk on and the weather was great!

It's been a long winter!

I'm 52, husband 54 with one son grown and gone with a family of his own. We love going to Disney World on our own and have made 60 some trips, most of them just the two of us.

We just got back a few weeks ago from the first weekend of the Flower and Garden Festival. Because we stayed offsite and are Annual Passholders, we didn't have MagicBands and couldn't make FastPass Plus reservations in advance (yes, I know that has recently changed but we were just a smidge ahead of that). We were there five days, used no FastPasses and had a great time. Our goal as well was to relax and forget the past six months which were difficult for a number of different reasons. And that's what we accomplished. We woke up when we wanted, went to the parks (all four of them) when we wanted, left when we wanted, ate what we wanted, drank what we wanted and came back home extremely readjusted. That is the part of Disney World that can never be replaced. That part where you heart resides from the minute you see the first purple sign.

If you like this kind of stuff, check out the white sangria at the Florida Fresh booth at the Flower and Garden Festival. Simply refreshing. It's also sold by the bottle at the Festival Center for an extremely reasonable price. At the same booth, there is a beer sampler and my husband raved about the blueberry beer.

Thanks for the post! That's exactly the way we want to look at this trip.

I will definitely check out the suggested drinks!

You're going to Disney World! What is there to be negative about?! :thumbsup2

I listened to a Disunplugged podcast the other day that was all about Flower and Garden. The podcast team was very positive about it. One thing they raved about was the candied strawberries in China. I say go try those!

Also, the Piggylicious cupcake (at the Smokehouse kiosk) sounds really good :rotfl: (bacon, maple frosting, pretzel crunch...)

They're not new but the waffle sandwiches at Sleepy Hollow in MK are divine and we go for lunch at least once per trip now. The sweet and spicy chicken one is my favorite :lovestruc

We were at WL mid-February and had a blast! It was our first time having Magic Bands and we loved it.
The CMs in MK were very sweet and helpful and I experienced NO waits at the kiosks. Anyway, be sure you have the app on your phone (if possible), so that you can make adjustments as needed.

We got FP+ for MSEP one night and it was fantastic! We were standing directly across from the castle with unobstructed views as the parade came by. My photos are fab! :wizard:

Have a great time

We were there last week and we had a great day! We loved FP+ and it works for us. We had an awesome comfortable spot for the new MK parade and the kids absolutely loved it.

Wow! Three wonderful treats we haven't had yet. Thanks disnut8 for the blueberry beer heads up, over winter DH has been on a blueberry beer kick as our local bar-b-q joint serves a local micro-brew Ellicotville brand Blueberry beer and they serve it with REAL blueberries in the mug!

Which brings us to the Piggylicious cupcake, thanks Johnsonet, that sounds just awesome. Like the kind of thing we will make at home later on after trying the real thing.

And KatieCharlotte, I believe I heard that ice cream WAS a good lunch or breakfast in some cases! :)...might have been the DD's...right after we had an energy crash one afternoon at Blizzard Beach and we found...(que angelic music...)...the Sand Pail full of ice cream! It's BIG and enough for three people, good price and the sprinkles are Mickey Ears.

Whoops:edited to add thanks to Clouds for the new MK parade sit rep. :) So much to weedle in with hopping and such. We love the parades.

Keep up the good vibes. We are going soon and I too am looking forward to trying new things at food and garden. I heard of a pineapple beer that sounds interesting. DW is into Cava Del Tequila and keeps getting info from them on twitter or Facebook. With it she can get a $5 shot and chips.
it is spring break and I'm ready for the crowds, but it is still my happy/laughing place.
There is also Dole Whips with dark rum - I'm having one, if not two.
Have a great time.

Oh, forgot. We are going for MNSSP next. Fall as we'll. we took advantage of the annual pass from DVC. DW and DD want Togo as Anna and Elsa. They want me to go as Sven. Anybody seen a good Sven costume?

I saw that they have dole whip with dark rum. That is definitely going to be on my list! I am very excited to try the food booths at EPCOT. I am considering canceling our sit down dinner at Via Napoli and just eating at the booths the whole day.

I'm looking forward to the crazy FP* system. It's going to save us a lot of time not having to do all the running around and backtracking.

My big boy and I are going on a mommy and me trip. He's the coolest guy ever and I can't wait to have him all to myself!! Next year I'll do the same thing for his little brother and the year after that, I'll take my youngest DD.

When we travel with everyone, which is six of us, there's just too many people to please. My DS is so excited to ride all the roller coasters that he missed last year. We missed so much because we stayed off site and didn't have access or info about FP+. At least now I can guarantee him a couple great rides per park.

We are one week away from being there and I can not wait!! We are staying on property for the first time as adults. We are surprising our kids with the trip. I just realized that flower and garden was going on while we are there and that there is YUMMY food to try. Hello bacon cupcakes!! We have some great ADRS. I have no idea how crazy the crowds will be, how my fps will work or if our youngest will make the 40 in height requirement but I am excited to be there and just laugh and enjoy each other! :goodvibes
