The popcorn cart guy almost ruined our trip!

Okay. I've read through most of this thread.... and I've decided to put my thoughts into the mix. (Though... most have probably been stated. I didn't read the whole thing... I'm sorry!)

Well... I think that what happened to you, OP, wasn't exactly fair.... HOWEVER....be happy you got to go. My family doesn't vacation. In fact.... I'm 14... and my only vacation memory is from when I was eight, and we were at a beach in Virginia for three days.

My vacation comes from hearing my friends talk about their own.

Well.... that wasn't very on-topic, was it? Sorry. I'm ranting a little because I'm spending yet another summer going nowhere. (Well... my mother and I are going to Arizona to pick up my Grandmother..........)

I hope I helped put things into perspective for you. A trip full of wonderful memories is more than enough to make up for one unhappy experience.

Hugs, :grouphug: you sound like a very mature 14 year old. I hope you get your dream vacation soon. I know if and when it happens you will appreciate it (popcorn or no popcorn.)

If it will make you feel any better, I've never been to Arizona!

Me either. MI isn't a all that fun to live in either. :) (at least in the winter.)

Are you at least close to DL?

I just hate that your kids have a bad memory. Maybe they'll forget it, maybe not. We went to Florida when my 2nd DD was 3. She was knocked over by a wave and swallowed a little satltwater. From that day forward she refused to do more than get her feet wet in the ocean. We even went back this past summer and she STILL remembers that bad, yucky wave.
My oldest DD went to WDW at 4 and wanted to ride BTMRR. SHe was tall enough so I let her. She hasn't forgiven me yet and she's 8. Kids minds are a strange thing sometimes.

Just keep trying to replace that bad memory with the good one. When they start withthe "Remember the mean popcorn guy..." interrupt with "Yes, but let's talk about the GOOD things that happened"

I think alot of people are missing your point. No, your vacation wasn't ruined but now your kids have a bad memory too. Their last memory on top of that. I don't think they'll be scarred for life, or that you'll refuse to go back to WDW because of the experience. You just ***wish*** that it had ended on a happy note.

Hope they forget about it!!!

Aw, DisneyPhD, C. Anne..... thank you. Really, it isn't a big deal at all... as I'm planning on either,

A. Waiting for my senior year. (I might get lucky. 8D )
B. Or, getting a job as soon as it's legal for me.... and start saving! I think my family is just unmotivated to even try to save or plan. Dx

Good plan. :thumbsup2

I do live fairly close to DL, so my dad and I go for the day, at least once a year. And two of my years in middle school, I performed there for band. It's all good. :cool1:

I know it sounds dramatic, but my kids were really sad.

On our second to last night at MK as we were leaving the park my DS8 asked for some popcorn. On the price sign it listed that they took dining plan. So, we stood in a long line only to find out that they only took cash - which I had none. The park was closing, so we had to leave without it. DS was tired and sad. I know that being very, very tired played into it.

SO, on our last night... I made sure I had cash. We watched the last Spectromagic parade then rushed for the popcorn cart. DS danced over going on and on about how good Disney popcorn was. We got to the end of the line but were turned away by a CM who said the line was closed. DS started to cry. (Again, being exhaused played a big part of this.) We had to stand beside the cart to wait for DH. We watched as they scooped all the popcorn into a trash bag and threw it away. I begged the CM to let me buy some, but he said no.

What a way to end a trip. Not very magical. :sad2:

Some of them cast members can be very rude......we went last month and we had an experience with a monarail cast member..boarding the monarail to magic kingdom...he kept shouting move all the way at the end very rudely saying 60 people can fit in one part area. in the monarail..there is noway....he looked rather very young........but the price you pay for tickets there ....WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE SHOUTED AT LIKE ANIMALS!!!:scared: :headache: It was our 12th trip since 2004...i know it was a very hot day...BUT HIS TEMPER WAS RIDICULOUS.....WE THE PEOPLE BRINGING THE MONEY IN.....
