Will Poly2 Be a Part of the Original Polynesian Condo Association?

Like Riviera’s? They’re the best. Galley leaves enough room to have a real table and chairs for a family meal, as opposed to the joke of a table at BWV/BCV.
I prefer the setup at Aulani with the bench/table setup behind the kitchen.
Seeing it is all rooms sizes, it out my guess of new association back at 95%….
Actually, if the pink is a 1-Bdrm Dedicated (and even if not), there's not going to be a lot of studios comparatively if all floors are similar to this one. It's going to put a lot of pressure on studios (ala BCV or BWV or back when it was just VGF1) if it is it's own association. It has me going back to this argument. Are new Poly2 owners going to be happy to be shut out at highly sought after times (like NYE) at 11 months, while perhaps Poly1 studios are sitting out there?

If I guessed they would be offices or storage spaces. Since it doesn't show any bathrooms like all the other rooms. It looks like this plan only shows the 1st floor of the new building.

I hope they add a community hall
They look like conference rooms/meeting rooms to me—though I don’t think of those as traditionally being part of DVC resorts? I believe AKV has spaces like that where the kids to crafts and activities.

I’ve long said that Disney should have small rentable office space (with very good soundproofing) for families where one parent needs to work mid-trip..ideally in/near parks but also in hotels.

Smart move putting the restaurant on the first floor. Also the bar area on the pool side of that first floor restaurant.

It will be interesting to see if this is the only restaurant though. If Disney wants recurring revenue a $$$ restaurant on a higher floor would be wise. (Contemporary, Riviera, ...).

Totally agree about the galley kitchens. Don't like them at all. We toured RIV and VGF and ultimately picked VGF - with the main reason being we liked the kitchen / living set up way better. Felt more like home and less utilitarian.

Do we think it will be a quick service restaurant, though? Poly is lacking in quick service space, but already has 2 nice table-service options.

Seeing them reference by that name changes me to 50/50 for new

Current name is Polynession Villas and Bungalows. Labeling this just Polynesian Villas seems to lean same.

Plus to that is I won’t buy.

Most wording has been generic enough to apply under different scenarios. Polynesian Villas seems like it could be a placeholder without actually naming the project.

I get the feeling (🤔 lol) they want to reserve the ability for separate asst’n. Just not ready to commit, which makes sense with 3 world shaking events within the last 2 decades of DVC. If they commit to separate/restrictions now and something happens where same asst’n would serve them better, how could they change course? Beside the legalities it would upset those who made buying decisions on that info. Why risk it until necessary. Vague is helping create intrigue.

Cay vs. Key vs. Quay

Cay vs. Key vs. Quay Homophones Pronunciation Definition

Thanks English language for making “cay,” “key,” and “quay” all sound the same because that’s not confusing at all.

Another useful word that sounds like kee :laughing: for Disney DVC Cruisers.

In the one image, it looks like area near pool can walk into the bar area there. Bar area has doorway into restaurant. To me, that fits a quick service.

Looking forward to seeing what the area is a few floors up. In the artist rendering, that area seemed like either a common area or perhaps it will be a table service. Personally, hoping it is a high end table service. Polynesian resort could use one quiet high end table service.

Pink looks more like dedicated one bedrooms to me.

Not a fan of the galley style kitchens...
I thought so at first, too, but each of the two 'bays' has a door to the hall, which makes me think separate rooms. Also no washer/dryer that I can find.

Interesting that they list VDH at ~340 keys, that's only after doing a majority of lock-off splitting. So Poly2's ~270 means it's smaller than VDH in terms of room count, even with some/most/all lock-off splitting.

But Poly2 likely has a more diverse arrangement of rooms, especially big villas, so more 'bays' than VDH.

Table service on higher floors can make more money with the special private view. With Spirit of Aloha gone I wonder if they have any plans of dinner show or event possibilities like BLT’s Villain Lair/Lounge.

Oh good point! Would explain why it's not a double-door dividing the 1BR from the Studio, too.

So new coloring:
View attachment 795192
Orange = 2 Bedroom Lock-off
Red = Dedicated 2 Bedroom
Blue = Dedicated 1 Bedrooms
Pink = Dedicated Deluxe Studios
Green = Duo

Nice!

Looks like lots of options, lots of booking categories... LOTS!
And this is just the first floor with only a small portion being actual villas.

So far I see the following booking categories:
(Top to bottom)

1. 2 Bedroom Lock-off
2. Dedicated 2 bedroom, Accessible
3. Dedicated 1 Bedroom
4. Dedicated 1 Bedroom, Accessible
5. Dedicated Studio
6. Dedicated Studio, Accessible
7. Duo Studio
(then another 2 Bedroom Lock-off)

That's 7 booking categories so far, and that does not include any Grand Villas or different views.
With 3 different views (standard, pool, & theme park), there could be up to 24 different booking categories.
Wow!!!

FYI, I think it is great they are adding so many accessible options.
