What can you tell me about this restaurant? Are the sandwiches big enough to split between two adults that are not big eaters?

We ate there our first two years there, but we skipped it last year just in favor of trying something new. It was a good meal...meaning nothing that will make you say WOW or GROSS! I am trying to remember portion sizes...and I'm having a hard time. If you aren't big eaters I guessing you could split a sandwich. I hope someone else chimes in and can remember for sure.
Good Luck

Thanks Robin. Are there any MK TS restaurants that do make you say wow? I know CP gets good reviews but I think that may be too much food for us? :confused3 I was thinking Plaza since it was just basic sandwiches and a place to sit down and relax. Is there a better place for that?

We ate at The Plaza for the 1st time this past Sept & really enjoyed it. The service was excellent & the food was very good. I had the chicken sandwich - it was a nice-sized portion - good enough for me, but probably not enough to be cut in half and shared for 2 people. The desserts at The Plaza are fabulous and they are definitely big enough to be shared. I got the mint chocolate chip milkshake - it was outstanding - it came in a huge glass. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of The Plaza - it's small, simple, quiet & quaint. We are definitely planning on returning to The Plaza this year.

I always enjoy the sandwiches at the Plaza. This is a must for us every visit! The portions aren't huge but if you order a sandwich and maybe another side that would work. Remember that they have awesome dessert too which is worthwhile to share too! I think a sandwich and dessert could easily be shared between 2 people that aren't big eaters.

I liked it just this past week. The veggie sandwich was solid but you can't split it not enough at least at lunch

DH and I ate here 12/18 for the first time. It was one of our favorite meals, and a good value. We were stuffed!!! I had the Club and he had a Cheesesteak, and we agreed both were big enough to split, especially if you get the side of fries. The desserts are also huge, and the banana split was fantastic.

i would say a sandwich and a decadent dessert can make a nice light lunch for two adults that don't want to gorge themselves and maybe have room for popcorn during the parade...

we love the plaza... one of our fave servers in all of wdw is janette :)

oooh, now I am getting excited. That sounds exactly like what we were looking for!

We ate there for the first time last year. Really enjoyed the food. I would agree not enough to split with 2 adults unless you are really lite eaters and want dessert.

We LOVE the Plaza. :)
DH had the cheese steak and I had the reuben. Both sandwiches were fantastic and they came with the BEST fries...thick cut steak fries, hot and crispy. :lovestruc The deserts are crazy good and HUGE. DH had the banana split and I had the brownie sundae.
As far as sharing...I don't think the sandwiches were big enough to share....but the desserts definately were!

I was not impressed with the Plaza.
We ate there during our Spring Break Trip. I ordered the club sandwich, my mom and sister ordered the burger. I would say the portions are pretty moderate. If you aren't very hungry you could split it (especially if you're going to get dessert as well). My mom and I ate all of our meals if I remember correctly.

This restaurant is very small. A lot of the tables are squeezed in so close that you can practically eat off your neighbor's plate. In my experience the service was very mediocre and the atmosphere was loud. I think you'd be better off with Liberty Tree Tavern or Crystal Palace, but that's just me.

:thumbsup2 We agree! We were there a week ago and agreed that neither of us wanted to overeat. At many TS restaurants, we shared our entree and either had an appetizer or dessert to share as well. At the Plaza, we enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak. We ordered an extra side, but even then we didn't eat everything. We also shared the brownie sundae, and couldn't finish it. Our service was friendly and the food was good. We think that sharing gives you plenty of food, especially if you aren't big eaters. We enjoyed the break from the crowds and the warmth! :cold:

We enjoy the Plaza offerings. And we find that most meals or sandwiches can easily be split between 2 adults, how much do you need? We eat less in the Florida heat, we also enjoy splitting at Peco's Bills. Over all our visits, 43, counter service meals are huge, too much really for one person, we split all the time. I see so many families with a meal for each person, leave more than they ate, especially with children. each child gets a meals, could easily have shared, and picked and left most. We were brought up by the, take all you want but eat all you take so splitting in WDW is our way to go, plus it leaves room for a quick dessert of ice cream while strolling the parks.

We enjoyed our lunch here, it was one of our favorites. Yes the serving is big enough to share, my mom & I shared a cheeseburger/fries it was great.

If you click the link in my signature you can read a full review of the Plaza from our last trip. Short version: very disappointed.

If you aren't big eaters and just want somewhere to sit and relax, I'd suggest going to the Columbia Harbour House and taking your food upstairs, which is usually not very crowded and has window tables in places where you can look out at the Haunted Mansion or Fantasyland, etc. Good, almost as good as some TS places, and the Plaza is more like counter service on steroids at best anyway. It is small, can be crowded and noisy, and we don't feel is worth the price for what you get since it is only sandwiches.

We love the Plaza. Have had good food there and good service. We always make an ADR for one of our days at MK. We tried LTT, it was ok but all liked Plaza better.

My teen daughter and I can easily split a club sand, we both usually order our own milk shake. DH and DS order their own meals. But I think if two adults are light eaters they could split a meal. Maybe order an extra side as someone suggested.

DD and I stopped in for lunch back in November. They had no problem splitting everything for us. We shared a turkey , bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich on multigrain bread. It came with kettle-cooked potato chips. We also shared a cookies and cream shake, which was the best shake of the trip. Our server came out with 2 regular-sized shake glasses topped with whipped cream and a cherry. When she set them down, she said "Don't worry, these are half portions. Everyone thinks they are full portions!". We were more than full when we finished. The sandwich was huge and the portion of chips, too. Very yummy!

The Plaza is one of my favorite restaurants and usually our first meal in WDW on arrival day. I love the theming, as it reminds me of the ice cream parlor my uncle owned in Michigan when I was a little girl. While it is small, I've never felt the tables were too close together. I usually get a cheeseburger or a club sandwich. I've never been able to finish the club on my own in all the years I've been going there (I usually get it with a malt and french fries) and I'm a pretty hearty eater. Book it and enjoy! :thumbsup2

I love The Plaza. Last time we were there my sister and I split the chicken sandwich with fries because we are not big eaters. Then we got a brownie sundae for dessert and were nice & full after that :)
