I haven't been able to find much that has been written about the Plaza. We are looking for another TS in MK - we will be going to Liberty Tree, but have already been to Tony's and Crystal Palace and would like to try some place different. Any opinions about the Plaza? Thanks.

it is nothing fancy but we like it. Good sandwiches and milkshakes.

I personally would not waste a TS for the Plaza - its a very nice restaurant - don't get me wrong but they only serve Soup and Sandwiches. IMHO I would rather pay out of pocket or got to Liberty Tree again...

Personally I have not eaten there but my friend just tried it in September. She raved about it....she said it was a perfect lunch. It is just sandwiches but she said it was one of the best meals they have had in Disney. She said she would be willing to book it several times for their next trip. Me being a sandwich girl...will also be trying in September!

Love the plaza. It's one of the few places with a really simple menu. Portions aren't crazy. Prices are ok. It's easy to get into and it's not one of those places that's crazy packed.

Just a Mickey Mama's opinion . . .

Agreed. It's not all that fancy, nor specifically "Disney-themed" but the sandwiches & burgers are good. Never had ice cream there but all the tables around us last time were having what looked like amazing ice cream sundaes. It's a good basic TS restaurant.

I agree with all the PP, good simple food, filling and tasty, one of our best lighter meals of our recent trip, banana splits were very good, seems like I had cheesecake there and it was very good also. If you have to pay OOP for a TS meal, this would be a good one to opt to pay for, then use a dining credit for another meal. I think anyone would tell you that its not the best value for a TS credit compared to other places, if you are the type that value matters to. For me, I picked it because it sounded like a nice place to eat as we started out MVMCP, plus we were eating at CP and Tony's later in the week, that pretty much completes TS choices at MK except Liberty Tavern, or I think that is all of them.

The Plaza is a "hidden gem" (don't know how it can be called that since its in plain view).

It seems that many people overlook this place as they walk down Main Street. Perhaps they are focused on the Castle on their way in, or on the exit on their way out.

We've always enjoyed our meal at the Plaza and would recommend it to anybody who is looking for a cool, relaxing break during lunch/dinner.

We went for the first time on our last trip in November. We really enjoyed it. My husband had a sandwich. But they also had a plate lunch that day with meatloaf, corn and potatoes. I had that and have to say it was some of the best meatloaf I've ever eaten.

Great suggestion! We have been to MK dozens of times and I have yet to try the Plaza. We will be there next week without the dining plan and I was trying to decide between Columbia House and LTT. The Plaza would be a perfect compromise!

I went there for lunch in August 2006 and while I thought it was ok, however only going there one time was good enough for me. Plus I liked other restaurants like Liberty Tree Tavern and Tony's Town Square a lot better.

It was okay. Prices were a little high for what you get. But, we think it's a great place to get out of the heat and crowds. The atmosphere is cool. If you don't have an ADR you might find the wait a little to long.

This is the must do place for us when on vacation at the MK. We love this place I agree its a hidden gem. Desserts fabulous, delicious sandwiches and great location. I can not say enough how much we enjoy this place.

We just tried The Plaza for the first time on our recent trip. We were not on the DDP this trip, but have been on other trips. It was the perfect meal for what we wanted: a simple sit down meal, not heavy, long, just casual. It was perfect for that!
The food was good. Not outstanding, not mediocre, just good. And sometimes good is what we want. The soups and sandwiches were a perfect meal. A lot of times we share meals at Disney because the portions are so large. I'm glad we didn't this time around because the portions were more "real world" restaurant sized portions.

For DDP: not a waste of a TS in my opinion, just not as "pricey" as some of the others. Sometimes you don't want a huge, complicated meal.
For OOP: honestly thought it was a little expensive. We had 5 people in our party, we got: 1 cup of soup, 4 burgers or sandwiches, one kids' meal, 2 iced teas and our cost with tip was $85. Thankfully, DD got ice cream with her kids' meal (the best value as you get soup, entree, dessert) as we all shared it:goodvibes.

My only big complaint and tip is that we were (as I felt) "stuck" in the back room, like a little gazebo room. I felt like we were in a penalty box. Although we had a nice view of the castle, the room lacked the charm that the main dining room has. It was also cramped in there and DS and DD had to constantly scoot their chairs in for the servers to get by. Don't get seated in the penalty box!;)

So I say "Yay" IF you go in there knowing what to expect.

I've been considering The Plaza for one of our MK lunches and I have a question...we will be in the DxDP and none of the online menus show any appetizers. Are there any or would we just lose that portion of our credit? It's no big (although I understand your point about wasting a credit) but would like to know going in what to expect.

I know there were appetizers...can't remember what exactly but I know there were. Not a huge selection, but soup was definitely one of the options. They have a baked potato cheese soup that is delicious! They have tomato soup on the kids' appetizer menu and that is an option as well, and it was very good, not your average Campbell's Tomato Soup.

Thank you! I think we'll give it a shot.
