I've searched for inside pics of this restaurant but haven't found any. I'm wondering what the atmosphere is like. Also, this restaurant doesn't seem to be very popular--is it just that is has a lot of competition in the MK (all the character meals, for example) or is it not any good?

The few reviews I've found of it are good, but it does have a lot of competition and it isn't particularly popular with dining plan guests because it is so inexpensive. It looks like a nice soup & sandwich type place with a great ice cream menu, and we're really looking forward to trying it in January.

DW and I have eaten here a couple time we like it and the food is really yummy. The serves has been great too, server kept drinks full at all time. We are heading back to WDW in May and have ADR for The Plaza again. :)

The inside reminds me of Crystal Palace without the buffet lines and on a much smaller scale. I think people who are on the dining plan don't think it is a good value - but that is fine with us because we no longer do the dining plan and really enjoy it. Just my two cents.

:thumbsup2

The Plaza is on the right hand side of Main Street as you are walking toward the castle on the castle end. We love the plaza. We have a tradition of eating there on our last day in MK. They have great real burgers (not the usual soybean burgers) and wonderful ice cream. We recommend it to annyone.:thumbsup2 :surfweb:

This used to be one of our must do stops in the MK to get away from crowds and relax- until we had kids., The food is pretty good- good burgers, sandwiches etc, but the service is a little on the slower side. My kids get very antsy eating there with the park right at their feet. We used to stop for a late lunch when we weren't doing a TS dinner. I have never been on the DDP but I would imagine if you were- it would not be the best bang for your buck

Great table service food for only a little more than counter service prices. But, as already stated, not a good use of dining plan credits

My family and I went there for lunch in August 2006 and we thought it was good, however I don't think we will be going back there. It had nothing to do with the food or the service, we just wanted to try some place new and we did.

We have eaten there several times and it is a nice sandwich, salad, ice cream type of place. The pace is not hurried and it is a very good value, I would recommend it.:)

We have eaten at the Plaza many times. Great sandwiches, veggie burger, and ice cream. Prices are reasonable and we have always had great service.

This was our final WDW meal tradition for a while. We always try to spend our last day at the MK and we love the Plaza. The sandwiches are always excellent, good german potato salad, and very good ice cream. All but once we've had excellent service (last time we were there we had a flaky waitress who insisted that our then 10yo had to order off the adult menu, took forever, and complained about other guests to us... I'd guess she's no longer there). It's also affordable by WDW standards.

We actually discovered this by chance, looking for a place to have lunch one afternoon. They were able to take us and we liked it so much we've gone back almost every trip since.

I think because it isn't a great dining plan value and it is kind of hidden around a corner make it less busy than it should be. I think it is so beautiful inside and the food I had was great!

This happens to be our favorite MK restaurant. It reminds me a lot of Beaches and Cream--similar menu (think upscale Friendly's). The interior is small and decorated in an Art Nouveau style.

I agree on it not being a good dining plan value, but this restaurant has always been fairly easy to just walk into. In past years, we were on the deluxe dining plan, and would schedule one meal here, then usually just walk in for another meal rather than table service. That was before the current DDP, though.

You could always stop by just for the ice cream, too.

We ate there several years ago and we really enjoyed it. Pretty restaurants, good fresh sandwiches and good service.
We have been on the DDP the last several trips and as said before it is not a great value on the Dining Plan, so we have not been back.
If I were paying OOP I would not hesitate to go back.

Thanks to all of you for your reviews. I have never eaten here, nor has anybody I know, but it looks like a definite place to try out soon.

Our favorite place to eat in the MK. It's way better than the counter service meals. We don't really like the menu choices or the quality of the MK table service restaurants any more, so certainly don't want to spend that much $$. You can get whatever you want on your burger for one price. The salad is excellent, and I love the German potato salad ...... it's something different.

It reminds me of an ice cream parlor, and can get a little crowded, but beats counter service any day. We've never waited very long for our food. Personally, I think people just don't know about it or choose to ignore it because they're looking for the MK experience of a meal in the castle or CP or one of the other restaurants.

And, it's definitely not a good use of a credit if on the dining plan.

We have eaten at The Plaza several times and love it! The Reuben is great as is the grilled cheese and burger. I've also had a croissant sandwich that was good but I can't remember if it was tuna or chicken salad :confused3 ??

I don't do shakes but DH and DS said they were fabulous. We had a table that looked out onto Main St. each time and it was really enjoyable and a great way to get out of the theme park bustle.

We ate there years ago when our kids were small and we just walked up (early Nov, low crowds). The food was good.
