The Pinless club

Totes in this group! No PIN codes since 2008 (first WDW trip, been to DLR countless times) & going strong!

We're currently booked in 2 rooms at POFQ mid-Sept with a RO discount. We've decided that with all the FD release madness, we're not willing to switch resorts and will pay OOP for our meals and keep all our ADRs anyway.

I know it's irrational, but I can't help but take it personally that Disney hasn't sent us a FD PIN yet. My family usually gets PINs and has always been able to benefit from FD (until now). Hope we're in the next wave but if not, at least we'll eat what/how we want, save receipts and see how much "normal" dining actually costs.

Glad to not be alone in my PIN-lessness!!

I have never received a pin from disney:( I keep reading about how people have gotten multiple pins this time around. I really wish Disney would share the love with me and the rest of us.

I'm in the club. Family of 5 currently booked at Sports with free dining. But REALLY wish I had a pin so we could switch to POR and add a few nights to our trip.

That describes us perfectly. we've been going since 1995, and to my knowledge we've never had a pin. I say to my knowledge because the board is ripe with stories of people who just call to see if they have a pin attached to their name and .....voila!.....they do. I just called last night for the first time to see if we had one so we could get into POR this October with free dining, but no such luck.

I'm not complaining though. We've still been able to go pretty much when we want and get either a room discount or free dining. Even without a pin......THE MAGIC LIVES! :wizard:

I've never received one. My sister has gotten 3 and never used any of them. This year were going 11/29-12/5 and really need one. Hoping her luck continues so we'll get something.

I am on hold to cancel a ressie (couldn't get decent flights that day)...You won't get thru to do that either :) This is my third time attempting. I keep giving up after 2hrs!

I still can't get through. I tried the new reservation route - still no luck. I can't believe I've spent 2 hours on hold today trying to give Disney more money and have yet to speak to a live person.

I give up. The category I want will probably be booked by the time they finally answer the phone. Guess we are staying Value again. I can't believe it's this difficult to try and upgrade (pay more). GRRR!!

On the bright side, that extra $800 Disney won't let me spend leaves plenty for us to finally visit "the dark side" for a few days! Lol

used to get them all the time from 2010-early 2013. Have not gotten one since March of 2013.

Luckily I travel with my sister who gets them. her husband who doesn't even like Disney (can you imagine?) got the FD one in the mail last year. He has no Disney account but does have an ESPN one.

Count me in. Used to gets pins regularly through email and mail but none in the last couple of years or so. I vaguely remember taking a long phone survey (thinking it would keep me in the pin list) right after I returned from a trip and I guess it had the opposite affect!

I remember some of the survey questions asked about vacation value vs. expense or cost or something and I felt little red flags raising up and thinking "Oh no! They are going to interpret my answers and stop sending me pins if I don't answer these questions just right!" I was never good at taking tests.

We get multiple pins for every time of the year except the time we want to book for.:rotfl:

We have been to Disney 4 times in the past 5 years and never once received a pin code. Our trip for October 2014 falls within the blackout dates of FD :( I know there is a free dining pin code floating around out there (was confirmed by a Disney phone rep), but none for me :( She also hinted that there weren't any further waves of FD pincodes coming out.

The PINs have the same blackout dates as the general public offer. It just includes some resorts not included for the public.

Well, we have only been once about seven years ago, and like you we never had a pin...until I was making a res with Disney and after asking some pointed questions about package rates, the CS helping me said "Oh, there is a pin on your account" - which was news to me! Turns out it was that same 30% offer with the free hopper that you were offered. (And yes, ::yes:: we took it!) Now, maybe if I called again to cancel or change dates, etc. they might "find" another pin? :rolleyes1 Might be worth a try next time you are considering booking - call and pester them with rate questions and see what "pops" up on the computer?

I've also never had a PIN, I think because I'm from the UK. A CM told me when I called to ask that she's never heard of anyone from the UK having a PIN although people on other forums say they have. I booked through the US site this year and bought MNSSHP tickets through the US site (have also done this in the past) but oddly she couldn't find me on the system. I'm considering calling again today to express my concern about not being in the system and asking if they can double check my booking is confirmed and check yet again if I have a PIN. Maybe there's one under my old address :confused3.
I know I should be grateful as we're staying at CBR with free DDP but I really really really wanted POR!

The pin we received included our dates in the third week of Oct. That were blacked out in the public offer.

Going October 9th-16th. Holding out hope something will come out. If it doesn't, I guess there is always Orbitz "gethappy" 15% discount.

I'm in this sad little club :sad1:

Been trolling disney site, shopping, trip planning since 2002 at least. Started planning a trip with extended family this year and SIL with a new account got a Pin for this summer! Our trip is set for fall, so we couldn't use it, and I didn't analyze it but I think it ended up being the same GP offer.

Today I had to call to adjust my fall reservation and at the end of had call I thought the CM seemed to be dropping hints that I should "watch out for any discounts and call right away" if I see one. I wonder if the system shows if you've got a pin on the way? Or if he knows of some forthcoming October discount. . .

Probably just wishful thinking! :rolleyes1

I used to get them all the time until we started going every year. Not one since 2009

I like to do trading pins, but as for a PIN, nope, Disney is totally onto me. You see I suffer from PDD (Post Disney Depression) The only known cure is to book your next trip. I always have a trip booked so they know not to send me a pin! :-(
