Thursday 19 February
Once again we had our breakfast in the Manhattan Restaurant before heading towards the Park. It was looking to be a lovely day.
Unfortunately the Park appeared to be broken! Neither Buzz nor Space Mountain was working so we went into Fantasyland to ride Pinocchio and then .oh no Peter Pan was out of action as well. We rode Dumbo then Pinocchio again then decided to give Discoveryland another try.
Fortunately things were better and we were able to battle Zurg. Buzzs face was today flickering between working and displaying a weird sideways message (as if the projector was shutting down). Dtr went on Space Mountain and then we went back to the Hotel to check out. We bought a snack in the station ready for our journey home - I got a cheese and ham baguette, a chicken and salad sandwich, a big packet of biscuits and a medium sized bottle of water for 8.70. Very good value for money in a touristy spot, I thought.
Back in the Park we went on Phantom Manor
and then attempted Indiana Jones, but this was not working (and stayed shut all day apparently) so we went on POTC instead. Even this seemed glitch - we were waiting just outside the unloading area at the end of the ride for ages. Nobody was getting on or off and there were eventually loads of boats queuing behind us.
We decided to go on Casey Jr and LPDCDF, sure they would be open as it was a lovely dry, clear day. No - closed all day.
We happened to notice people going into the Fantasy Festival Stage and found out a dance group from the UK were just about to put on a show, so we went in to watch as well. They were superb - and so young! The youngest was probably only about 6.
After picking up FPs for Peter Pan we went on IASW then picked up Buzz FPs and took a couple of photos in the lovely midday sun.
We made our way to the Auberge de Cendrillon for lunch. The Character Express had just stopped but unfortunately the crowd was too thick to collect any autographs.
Just outside the restaurant were the Ugly Sisters and Dtr got the autograph of Drizella, which was the one she was missing.
It was time for our booking - our meal was superb as usual and Dtr had a good time with the characters.
After our meal we went for our FP time at Peter Pan (about a ten minute wait) and then Buzz (which was about a 30 minute wait).
We bought the poster after that ride.
We sat down to watch the Parade on the seats at Winnie The Poohs meet n greet - fantastic view.
We decided to finish off our trip with a few last rides on our old favourites. BTM was not working so we went on POTC, Snow White and then Phantom Manor. As a definite finale, we had a bit of a shop. Then it was time to get our luggage and go to get our train. The journey home was very quiet - I think everybody else apart from me slept all the way. We made good time and we were soon home, where I spent most of the night typing reviews on the DIS.
It was another lovely trip - despite so many technical problems. We loved the HNY - as my summer ticker will bear out - and we really loved having Half Board Premium.
Sigh - how long until me next trip? Oh yeah, 3 days!
Here we go again
