The plan was to sleep in a bit. We did and still arrived at Epcot at 10. On the bus the big boys decided that they were too cool to sit with us, so Scott ended up with an empty seat next to him. We had a pleasant conversation with the man that sat in that seat. Both he and Brian had been to Africa and were discussing that, plus all of our recent experiences at Disney World. In the course of the conversation we learned that he is a Dr. All was fine, then just as the bus pulled up at Epcot I realized that Matthew, sitting next to me, was throwing up. Luckily it all landed on his jacket. The poor Dr. sat silent while we took care of things. You could almost hear his mind screaming, "Why did I tell them I was a Dr.? Now they are going to expect me to help with this sick kid." Well, we never said a word to him and finally he said, "Do you need any help?" I replied, "Oh no. He has asthma and an over-active gag reflex, so this happens sometimes." He looked soooo relieved and took off as fast as he could to escape us and get his own family into Epcot! Funny. Our first stop was the gift shop right outside of Epcot. $31 for a CLEAN jacket for Matthew and a plasitc bag to stash the DIRTY jacket in. The sad, sad news it that about a week after returning home our puppy chewed a whole in the Disney jacket! I was crushed! Anyway, our 2nd stop was at the gift shop right inside Epcot. Here is where Pal Mickey joins our adventure. Jacob reads everything and knew all about Pal Mickey and decided to spend $8 to rent Mickey for the day. What a great deal!!! He loved him, and so did the rest of us. In fact, we kept him for 3 days, I paid the rest. Jacob was very responsible with him and was the perfect audience for Mickey's corny jokes!
We couln't resist the pull of Spaceship EArth and did it first, even though I had read to do it later and it would be less crowded. The line moved really fast and we were right in. Interesting ride. The boys liked it, which I thought was even more intersting. The photos I took inside are a bit creepy, those people look so real. Then we did Inoventions East, then West. We love video games and loved all of it. The robotic dog may some day come to live with us, I'm almost certain he is NOT programmed to chew up jackets. We spent a bunch of time there. Scott hiked to Test Track and Mission Space to scope out FastPass times. We ended up with Mission Space for a few hours later. Time to eat. Lunch at the Electric Umbrella. I remember that it was good, but don't remember what we had. Thats what happens when you wait 4 years to write your trip report and don't take detailed trip notes. I do remember being thrilled to get fresh fruit and being thrilled that the kids were eating, must be day 3! We went to HISTA next. I thought Matthew would be scared, but he really wanted to go, so in we go! I held him, which helped and we yelled BOO at the scary parts, which helped too. We all LOVED this show! Well done Disney! Then it was time for Mission Space. Scott and the big boys went on the first mission. Matthew and I played in the nice playground/computer area. The CM with baby swap told us to wait in the gift shop, but I knew better thanks to the Dis! Finally, our family returns. I take Nathan, always ready to ride twice, and we try. LOVED it. I am claustrophobic. I had no problem. Well, maybe a bit, but not much. Very well done Disney! Then we find the rest of the family in the computer area. Jacob is involved in some big computer game, on a team. He LOVED it. What a great area!
By this time our 2:00 Ice Cream Social time is sneaking up. We already did Chef Mickey and have Donald's Breakfast in the morning. I am leaning toward not going. We vote, and split up. Scott takes Matthew and Nathan to the Garden Grille and Jacob and I head out on our own. They LOVED the Ice Cream Social and the photos are unbelivably cute. Jacob and I wandered a bit. For some reason I could not navigate by the Epcot map. I don't usually have trouble, but I did at Epcot! Luckily all CMs were helpful. We ended up going on the Figment ride , which was great, and sending e-mails to friends and family. We all meet up and do Living with the Land and Circle of Life. We enjoyed both! The time is almost 5. We had planned to head back to the Happy Motel, POR, at 5 to swim in the big pool. We had Fast Passes for Test Track for 6:00, but stuck with the plan and left. I know, we didn't even make it to the World Showcase. The plan became to do the World Showcase on Day 5, after MK, and do Test Track then as well. The bus pulls up and I hand 5 FastPasses for Test Track to a young lady exiting the bus. May have been a "Disney moment" for her. Back to the room, into the pool. Invigorating. Fun. Great. Matthew must have went down the slide 40 times! I went about 10, that was plenty. That hike up to the slide is chilly. The boys had a great time, and so did Scott and I. All vacations must include swimming. We ate at the food court once again. I had a Cajun special. Bad idea. We lived in Louisiana for 3 years. This was NOT Cajun, but I should have known better. Everyone else was happy with their food and tired. More Disney cartoons, back to bed and sound asleep. Could it be? Another Magical Day? Yes!!!
