1 oz Sloe gin
1 oz Southern Comfort
1 oz Orange juice

Mixing instructions:
Pour in a bowl.

Drink up and be very merry!

These are always a favorite at weddings.

Can you make the perfect French Martini?

French Martini

Ingredients:
1 1/4 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur
3/4 oz Grand Marnier
2 oz Orange juice
1 oz Soda water

Mixing instructions:
Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice, chill and strain in a Martini glass or cocktail class. You may also add sugar to the rim if you like.

I know you are a big fan of Chambord Eeyore.

Oh, wow....I haven't had an Alabama Slammer in YEARS!

I used to order them all the time whenever I went into a bar, but then Massachusetts started cracking down on drunk drivers and holding the bars responsible, so the bartenders wouldn't serve them anymore:( .

I'm going to have to try this on my own.

Thanks!

Wow, thanks.
Do you have one for Pina Colada's? I've had two good ones in all the ones I've tried. In Mexico and at a Red lobster.

Serena, the best Pina Colada is made with Amaretto Di Saronno, NOT Rum! JMHO! We make ours w/the frozen Bicardi Pina Colada mix you find in the frozen orange juice section at your grocery store. Add that with ice and Amaretto in a blender and you have a most delicious Pina Colada--it can also double as a dessert!

Dr. Coctail, I make my Alabama Slammers with Vodka instead of Jack Daniels! Never had one w/Jack.....I'll have to try it sometime.

Two new recipes for me to try. A Blondie Colada and a Blondie Bammer. Has a nice ring to it.

Here are some Pina Colada recipes you might like to try:

3 oz Light rum
3 tblsp Coconut milk
3 tblsp Pineapple, Crushed
Mixing instructions:
Put all ingredients into an electric blender with 2 cups of crushed ice. Blend at a high speed for a short length of time. Strain into a collins glass and serve with a straw.
------------------------------------------------------------------
This one is my favorite. I'm a big fan of Malibu Rum.
2 parts Malibu rum
2 parts Pineapple juice
1 part Cream or milk
Ice
Mixing instructions:
Add some crumbled ice, mix it well and pour it into a tall glass. Garnish with a slice of fresh pineapple. Drink down, repeat.
------------------------------------------------------------------

And for a non-alcoholic party punch version
Pina Colada Punch
46 oz Pineapple juice
15 oz Coconut cream
1 tblsp Coconut syrup / flavoring
1 tblsp Cinnamon
1.5-2 L Pineapple soda
1 pint vanilla Ice-cream
Mixing instructions:
Chill pineapple juice and soda. Blend first four ingredients in a blender until creamy. (I've found a hand blender works very well since my blender won't hold all of this liquid or you could split it into two batches.) This can be done ahead of time and put back into the fridge until serving time. When your ready to serve, place coconut mixture in punch bowl, add ice-cream and allow it to dissolve somewhat. When ice-cream has dissolved almost completely, add pineapple soda. Add ice ring and decorate the frothy top of the punch with thin orange slices. If you wanted to make this alcoholic, cut back a little on the amount of soda and add a bit of rum - I like it with Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum.

So are you saying that bars in MA don't serve mixed drinks?

Sounds good but I must stick to Mich Lite ....To keep everyone happy.:jester: ;)

And for the official DIS meet wannabe (aka Nativetxn):

The Texas Mudslide
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ingredients:
1 oz Crown Royal
1 oz Kahlua
1 oz Bailey's Irish Cream

Mixing instructions:
Put ice in a shaker and pour all three ingredients into the shaker. Shake vigorously and then strain into a glass. This is intended to be more like a shot than a sipping drink.

Just think of a chocolate milk shake when you try this.

(Beanie might like this one too.)

Wow! I haven't heard of that drink in years! Quite a while ago I was out somewhere and asked for a GTO. The bartender asked me what's in it! :teeth:

Galiano
Triple Sec
Orange Juice

Jeff,
Bars in Ma. sell mixed drinks but a lot of them shy away from drinks like Alabama Slammers,LI iced tea,Rum Punch etc.....
A lot of times they will serve you 1 MAYBE 2 and that's it!Again it really depends!By law you are not suppose to have more than 2 ounces of hard alcohol in any drink-ya right! Can you imagine any of those with only 2 ounces?Being a bartender myself it's nearly impossible-don't even bother trying!!!!I make my drinks the way I would want them to taste!!!!

As Antkim pointed out, mixed drinks yes, but I was informed Alabama Slammers contain too many liquors.

Oh, and my hometown banned Pac Man because they considered it gambling.

You gotta remember, Plymouth (which is just down the road from me) was settled by the Puritans in the 1700's and not much has changed since around here!;)
