To keep my sanity, I decided to rant about what Disney, specifically WDW, is worrying me.
I had to book my room for a July trip in December to get what I wanted. I had to book my ADRs in January to get the ones I wanted. It's now May and I need to start making our FPP. WDW has still not posted park hours that should be correct.
AK is showing to close at 5:00? How can they do a nighttime show if they close at 5:00? I get that ROL is broken and a boat did a Titanic, but they should at least figure this out.
The only thing the Dis team seems to love are events that are hard ticket items (except for Jackie of course) which tells me that everything in the normal day is going down hill. Maybe it is a matter of 'they live there and can do it any time they want', but when a show/business built on Disney world has a hard time finding something good I get worried.
Has there been a week that no one sues Disney? It seems to be the cool thing to do lately, but I have a thought on that matter. You always have a choice, if you don't like what WDW offers, don't go. The other Pete has said this 318 times on his show in the past two years. The guy that lost his thumb on a cruise, the people that refused to leave their room even after the police became involved, I'm sure there are others but I lost my train of thought refilling my GlenLivet. Anyway, there should be a test before you are allowed on WDW property, or to breed for that matter.
Disney wheelchairs should be equipped with a bumper in the front. Maybe a cow-catcher like the old trains had. There really is no further explanation needed here, let's just say my wife's feet hurt just as much as your shins do when you walk six abreast and don't get out of my way.
As @DisneyKevin told me, everyone has a right to be wrong. When you are wrong say 'sorry' or 'my bad', don't try to justify your actions. If your family got separated in a queue move to the side to let people pass until they catch up. If your FPP is for 1:55 and it's 1:45 get out of the way so those of us who show up at the right time can get in.
BOG does a great job with this. They won't let you check in 30 minutes before your ADR. Don't tell people to show up at Space Mountain 20 minutes early, there is a one hour window for a reason.
Smokers need to learn. I smoke, and I make the 20 minute trek to find a designated smoking area. You can't hide smell, and if you keep trying to they will take all smoking areas away (see AK DSA).
Drinking around the world is a waste. 11 beers in 12 hours is not a feat. Stop bragging on your tee shirt about what is essentially a frat party. you spent $90 to get in and $9 in 11 bars. Enjoy the magic that is Epcot and stop running into me. Better yet, have a 30 pack delivered to you and stay at your hotel if your only goal is to get wasted.
Strollers are meant for young children who are not able to walk far or as fast as their parents. It is neither cute or safe for a 10 year old to be in a stroller, but look around how often this happens. The same thing happens with kids hopping on with grandma on her AVC and riding on the back or front.
Speaking of that, there should be a training class for AVC's, or a license. I give a wide berth to these motorized gangs that run four wide down Main Street USA because they will run you over. They are needed for some people, but just like driving a car, some people shouldn't be behind the wheel. Consider a wheelchair instead.
Get rid of Starbucks. I want my Main street Bakery back and not that freshly unfrozen muffin they serve. Gastons is a poor replacement. I see these long lines at MK and Epcot and can't fathom why people paid to get into the park to pay for the same coffee they can get at Target.
Congratulations if you read this far. This is probably offensive or too long for most to read, but I feel better typing it out. Feel free to add anything I missed. We still love WDW and enjoy planning and talking about it.
