I picked up the book at the library's book sale last Saturday. I love it! I was just told a few days ago there is also a movie.

The book is always better than the movie.

Very scintillating.

I have only read the book but I have heard that the movie has some ommissions and a key scene misses something that helps explain it. (I cant' remember but it was towards the end and someone was talking to me about it and I gave them the background info and they said it wasn't in the movie).


I don't usually read books much at all let alone movies that are books and reading them first. But I am glad I did. The movie is in my netflix cue.

I loved the book!!! Sadly, I was pretty disappointed by the movie. It is just such a huge story it would be impossible to capture it all in a movie. A mini-series could be great though...

I freaking loved that book. I have read all Allison Wier's Tudor histories, which make a great companion to differentiate between truth and dramatic licence.

Be careful about Gregory's backlist, though, I picked up her Wideacre books and was horrified and disgusted. I'm no prude, but incest is too much for me.

The Other Boleyn Girl is Gregory's best book, IMO and I have read them all. The others, while not as good, are still very good. I agree about Wideacre. I actually did like the Wideacre story, but it did get very creepy ala V.C. Andrews sort of thing...I never read the whole trilogy as my library did not have the second book and I wasn't going to skip it and go to the third so I just sort of gave up on it.

Wouldn't a mini-series be great?!!!!

I visited Hampton Court in June just so I could see many of the sites written about in Gregory's books.
