My husband and I went down to WDW for a quick 2 night trip before Thanksgiving mainly just to see the Osborne Lights! It holds a very special meaning to me so we had to get there to see them one last time!

I wanted to post a few things we learned/suggestions for others going!
- the music is not on a loop- it is totally random! I had a particular song I wanted to record and it was playing as we walked up at 8:25. We got a spot and waited for it to play again. It didn't until 10:00!! A CM told us it's totally random, and sure enough, it played again about 10 minutes after hearing it at 10.
- get the gingerbread hot cocoa! It is the BEST hot cocoa I've ever had in my LIFE and the Osborne Lights souvenir cup it comes in is adorable!
- when you arrive, the CMs will route you back past the muppets and Mama Melrose's. As soon as you round the corner to the lights everyone is stopped in a huge mob, staring. Keep moving past them and around to the right into the Streets of America. It'll be a little less crowded and you'll have a 360 view!

I am so bummed about this ending. First Spectromagic and now this, our Disney hearts are melting! We stood there for hours, just soaking in every last minute of the beauty!

I'll try to post a few videos, but the files might be too large?

Thank you for the notes. I, like so many others, am completely devastated about this being the last year for the show. It is truly a moving, emotional show. It has literally taken my breath away everytime I have seen the show.

Sorry but yuck!

I have been to the original osbourne family homes in Arkansas. when Disney originally bought the display, they were true in nature to the original display.

Now Disney just put lights on every square inch of the back lot. It is tacky and not appealing. Time for it to go. I choose to remember the lights from 10 or so years ago when they were on the old back lot street.

Where was the gingerbread hot cocoa - I'm assuming somewhere near the lights. Was it one of those little food trucks / stands?

There was a small food cart selling a few snacks and the hot cocoa in the souvenir mugs. They way they route you on the street it will be on your left side (moving away from LMA).

Thank you for the tips! We too booked a 2-night trip to go see the lights (planned on about 3 weeks notice!!:scared:). We leave this week and I'm so excited. We've never seen the lights before - the only time we were at WDW at the holidays I ended up in bed sick the last day and half of our trip, which was to include our DHS day :guilty:.

Like another poster said, there is a little snack/drink cart in the middle. It's sort of beside Youse Guys Moichendise (or however you spell it,) it's on that same side.

Have a great time!! We hadn't been during this time of year since 2007 so my husband surprised me for my birthday with a 4 night trip! Unfortunately, all the SC flooding happened and my husband didn't work for about a week and a half and finances were tight! We almost canceled, but chose to shorten to 2 nights. You'd be surprised how much we got done in 2 days!!

Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you were able to get a lot done in 2 days. I'm a little nervous as this is the shortest WDW trip we've ever done, but hopefully everything will go smoothly and we will fit in everything on my list :goodvibes. Planning to really mainly focus on the holiday stuff and just a few "must-do" rides, since the rides will be there next time but I'm not sure when we'll get back at the holidays again!:thumbsup2

That's exactly what our focus was, the holiday elements! We had one full day of torrential rain and we still managed to do most of what we set out to do. Had to brave Wishes while soaking wet with ponchos, but got to enjoy the Osborne Lights for hours, and still made it to Epcot and AK to experience the ambiance and some of our must dos!

Don't forget to look for the cat!! Does anyone know where it is this year??

We saw it right where they "let" us in. It was on the right, as you face the direction to head down the street from there.

That was my first time seeing the Osborn Lights- and I really don't "get" the big deal. I'm sorry, I tried. Yes, it's a couple of city blocks lit up with lights. It's ok. We walked through it a bit, and then went off to ride TSMM. I can't imagine them being missed at all when I go back in the future. Fantasmic! I would miss, though. I still love it!

I really like that there is something for everybody, but I thought the lights were just not anything to make an effort to see.

It actually moves on a weekly basis (though I'm not sure when the week resets)
I've seen it in 3 or 4 different places so far. Some pretty obvious, and some not as much

That's what I love about Disney! Different things speak to different people. We saw Fantasmic! once a long time ago and have never had the desire to ever see it again.

I'm going to see the lights tonight for the first time. I've always wanted to but getting time off this time of year is near impossible. DH and I managed to get here for a very short 3 days.

We saw it years back and while it was neat and something to see but I don't really get the huge draw to it either. But I LOVE wishes and I'm always shocked by the number of people that do not even make an attempt to catch it when we try to catch it possible times over a visit.

We saw the Osbourne Lights last Saturday before DISApolooza. Traffic going in was horrendous! Crowd was horrendous! Osbourne Lights were fantastic! Getting back in time to go to DISApolooza was nerve racking -- the Disney Buses couldn't get in for 45 minutes because of a traffic jam. We made it back with minutes to spare. (Whew!)

I love the lights....just booked a trip from the UK to see them one last time!!!! :)

Thanks for the tips! We're doing a quick 2 night trip this weekend to see the lights and just get out of town for the weekend. Approx how long does it take to walk through the display? We have a dinner ADR at Prime Time for 7:25 and plan to get to the light show right around 6. Will we be able to make dinner or should I cancel it? Thanks!
