Are the Orlando gay bars really as bad as I've read/heard about? For some reason I can only find 4 or 5 of them online.

Are there any you'd recommend? (No twink bars, please. ;) )

Can't help you much. We don't do that anymore. Age and settled married life, ya' know?

Gay bars I've been to:

P House (Parliment House if you're not local)
Pulse (more of a twink bar, but fun anyways)
The Groove (at Citywalk, used to be gay some nights of the week).
Hanks (fairly scary, a friend and I used to go play pool on Mondays).

And most of the other ones I knew are closed or have changed names :confused3

I believe those are the ones I've seen online. Would P House be fine for a 31 year-old who hates attitude and a 41 year-old who doesn't feel comfortable in a twink bar? ;)

P House has a pretty wide range of visitors

I havent been out in ages.....but the Parliment House would be where I would go if I were to go out.

If memory serves me...

Piano Bar
Disco
Pool Bar
Levi/Country bar
Theater that has drag and legit shows
And gasp! Even a decent restaurant.....

And on the weekends, they haul out several portable bars around the pool.

(The Parliment House is actually a motel)

And for those of you who haven't been there in a few years, they have cleaned the place up a tad....

I had a good breakfast there once... :rolleyes1

Nothing like that, I had met up with a co-worker there one night, and he lived close so, since I was drunk, we took a cab to his place and I crashed on the couch, and we ate breakfast when we went back for my car :rotfl:

You might also consider hitting Hamburger Mary's for drinks. They've got a bar area, and depending on the night the whole place can be quite hopping. Especially if they've got live entertainment.

Plus the food is very good. Loves me the "Buffy the Hamburger Slayer"!

Wow! It sounds huge. We might have to make a trip out there.

Hamburger Mary's was the first place I ate at in San Diego. We saw the bald gay guy from Sex and the City eating there as well. :thumbsup2

Throw in a techno area and you have my idea of a perfect club...no comment on the country

Hamburger Mary's! :lmao:

My DP and I were having dinner at Ceviche and saw Hamburger Mary's across the street. It reminded us of another Mary's, Midnight Mary's. :goodvibes Different city, different state, but it was a well known Lesbian bar.

That has nothing what so ever to do with this thread, but every time I hear Hamburger Mary's, I now think Midnight Mary's! :upsidedow

How is Ceviche? We've been meaning to try it.

And I highly recommend Hamburger Mary's. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. Great experience.

Plus it's next to the Dessert Lady. :thumbsup2

I didn't even know Hamburger Mary's was a chain until a few months ago. Apparently there's one about an hour and a half from me in Cincy. popcorn::

Oh we LOVE Ceviche. We first discovered it at St. Pete's Beach. The one in Orlando is much bigger, roomier, and has great staff. If you go, try to get Levi. He is wonderful.

We aren't great fans of their sangria but everything else we tried was wonderful. (Tapas wise. We did have the paella in St. Pete's once and didn't much care for it. They are a tapas place, plain and simple).

Oooh! We love Tapas. Have you been to Cafe Tu Tu Tango? It's one of our favorites!

Okay, I've been to the web site and watched the video on YouTube.....

How likely is it to be able to grab a cab to the Parliament House from WDW? :lmao:

It's likely.....

To cost you a fortune! :lmao:

Boooooooo! Not the answer I wanted to hear! ;)

LOL Taxi's are expensive from WDW!

Depending on work schedule, you might be able to book Conc's Cab Co. for some gas money or a few drinks :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Woo[Hoo! I like the sound of "Conk's Cab Company"! Very Entrepreneurial (Ga-ack! Try spelling THAT at 5:30 in the morning!) Hi, Mr. Conck -- Hows it goin'?:dogdance:
