Just to let you know I collected the fridge with no problems And hopefully Dreams4disney has now got it.
The box could do with a bit more duct tape, but will last a while longer. I left a bottle of cleaning spray in it and I'm now getting on with the whilst planning my next visit.

We have plenty of room for duct tape in our luggage, so consider it done. OMIGOSH it's been such a long wait since we first started our planning last August. We had 299 days to wait, and Saturday is just 2 more sleeps away! 48 hours from now, we should have the fridge set up in our room, and we should be out at one of the pools after our travel day.

Thank you SOOOOOO much for keeping this swap alive, Dizneydaz! What a wonderful person you are for helping so many families get a little bit more of that Disney magic!

I could really use a fridge Aug. 23-Sept 1, or at least a portion of that.

We're home! When we picked it up from luggage services, the CM tried to give us "the last fridge in storage." It wasn't in a box and was covered in Finding Nemo stickers. I knew that wasn't it! So I insisted he look again, and I spelled out, "D-I-Z-N..." and he said, "Oh yeah! I saw that one back there!" He then brought out the correct fridge, and we took it up to our room.

When we opened the box, inside the fridge were 5-6 envelopes (for leaving tips), 4 square-shaped Tupperware-type containers (the kind you would pack a sandwich in), and plastic beach pail and shovel, and a pack of coffee filters for a 4-cup machine. That's all. No toaster, no hotpot. Everything else is gone.

We left a package of Purex 3-in1 laundry sheets and some cheese and cracker snacks for Gail. I didn't have the chance to check the board before we left. If I had, I would have brought some bowls and hangers to replace the missing ones. By the way, I was able to hand the fridge right off to Gail in the Food Court at noon, yesterday. They were so excited to have it and to start their Disney vacation!

The fridge works really well, and it kept everything nice and cold. We bought half gallons of milk for our morning cereal. We also kept bottles of water in there so we would have icy cold drinks when returning from late night park visits. I added some black duct tape to the box. It's holding up ok. Just make sure to add towels to the fridge when defrosting it to catch the ice runoff (remove towels when finished, before boxing it up). That made the box a little flimsy.

Thanks for the report Susie and for being persistent with the CM. Too bad about the toaster and hotpot but at least we still have a fridge! I think we had that toaster for way over 2 years. I know I used it the last 2 trips. If no one else adds one before my trip, I will. And now we know what else we still have. Wonder how things disappeared though from inside the box? Curious and curiouser.

Glad to hear about the in-person swap with gail8. Best way to keep the swap going.

Just so you know you may be able to get the fridge the evening of the 12/17 (depending on when FeistyGirl916 is leaving in the a.m.) as well as possibly getting it to darthspud either late in the day on 12/22 or first thing in the a.m. on 12/23. Worst case scenario is you can have it for 4 nights.

I know when we do the swap I usually get it first thing in the a.m. after I arrive since we get there fairly late. And sometimes I will get it to the next swapper the night before we leave. Saves a little time in the a.m.

If not, what we used to do before the swap and if we didn't want to pay to get one from POP, we would get an inexpensive styrofoam for the room. Worked great for keeping milk, water, sodas, and fruit cold.

Ill be back up for nov 12-19 of 2010 if possible I'm all ready to pack now LOL
