HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYZZIE!!!

I didn't know if you would want cake or cookies, so here's both!

Amber, that's funny because I got Lyzzie a cookie-cake for her birthday before I saw your post!

She had a great birthday. My mom picked the girls up from school and took them to her house. I had to stop by Lyzzie's best friend's house to pick up our hermit crabs, and I surprised Lyzzie by picking up her friend too and bringing her to dinner at Lyzzie's favorite restaurant (yummy Chinese!) and back home for the big cookie-cake. Both of the girls were thrilled at being together. I didn't have much to give Lyzzie, so I went shopping over my lunch hour yesterday and found a bunch of great deals at Target and of course ended up getting her too much. She was speechless over the Wicked tickets and her friend is very jealous! My parents were confused... Mom didn't know what it was and Dad thought I was taking Lyzzie to NY because on the card I wrote "the Broadway musical Wicked."

I think she had a great birthday. She still wants to have a party, darn it. :rotfl: I'm not a fan of having a bunch of girls over!

Happy late birthday Lyzzie!

Well, we are officially scheduled for a c-section at noon on October 2nd, unless he decides to come on his own before then. Augh!!!!!!

Lin, I am SO EXCITED for you!!! If you do end up with the planned C-section, then you won't have the pain of labor! :) I hope everything goes smoothly for you. :wizard:

Lyzziesmom, glad Lyzzie had a good birthday!

Nicole and Ash, how are you both?

Well, after Mike's PS3 crashed, his XBOX 360 did the same. :sad2: He was playing the same game (Madden 2010) when both crashed too. So, I contacted the makers of the game and they said I can send the games back and they will send new sealed copies, so that I can return them to the store for a refund. Why EA Sports won't just send a refund is beyond me. I also have to contact Microsoft tomorrow about repairing the system. Needless to say, Mike has not been thrilled this weekend.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Lin, I can't wait for Connor to get here!

Amber, So is it a problem with Madden 2010? If so, I'll have to tell Steven not to buy it (He has a PS3). That's good that they are going to send you sealed copies to return.

Lyzziesmom, I'm glad Lyzzie had a great birthday!

Hi Ashley!

Steven and I went to Austin this weekend to see our friend's band play. It was a looong night, and I'm still tired!

On Friday night we had a celebrity of sorts on the plane. A man got someone to buy him a All You Can Jet pass, which you could use this month and next and fly to anywhere JetBlue flies. He is flying to every JetBlue city and blogging about his experiences. He spends the night in the airports and leaves the next morning, so my manager wanted our station to be the nicest he's stayed at. My supervisor set up a cot in the baggage room complete with a BBQ dinner, flowers, chocolate mints on the pillow, and pancakes the next morning. I was waiting to see if he said anything about it on his blog (and see if he posted a pic of us! :teeth: ), but he didn't. :(

Nicole, I have no idea if it is a problem with the game, but it did crash two different systems. I did a little reading and found that other people did have the same thing happen after playing Madden. Of course, when I spoke to EA Sports, they don't admit that the game could damage the system, but I am still discussing it with them.
Mike has owed pretty much every Madden ever created and this is the first time anything like this ever happened, but he is hesitant to buy another copy (and that makes him sad, since it's his favorite game).

I heard about that guy! Too funny he was in your airport.

Just a small vent about Facebook because I would rather post it here than there and risk hurting "someone's" feelings  ...

I love how people post some not so nice replies to things and then go & delete them. Do they not realize that I get email notifications for everything? Busted.....:headache:

What happened???

What happened???

Nothing serious. There is just a certain person (in my family, nobody here) who has a habit of posting rude comments to some of my posts, then I guess has a change of heart or realizes what she said wrong (:confused3) and goes & deletes the replies. I guess she is stupid though and doesn't realize I get her replies anyway through my email. It's not the first time it's happened by the same person, actually its happened a couple times in the last few days, and I'm getting kind of sick of it. :headache: Of course if I posted anything on Facebook then I would get accused of over reacting/ganging up on the person or misunderstanding the posts () so I would rather just get it off my chest here.

In other news, I am not feeling as sick as last week, so that's good! I still have a bad cough and feel pretty weak, but nowhere near as bad as last week. I have to go get blood work done tomorrow to see if my meds are the right dosages, so hopefully I feel good enough to go out in the morning. I already rescheduled it from Monday!

That's really crappy. :guilty:

Do you think you have H1N1?? I hope you feel better soon. :wizard:

I was so sick yesterday , but am starting to feel better. I have stayed in bed for the most part. I am just hoping Mike and Spencer don't get it.

I'm pretty sure I had some type of flu. I had all the classic symptoms but I didn't go to the doctor so I won't know for sure.

Actually after posting I was feeling better I started feeling feverish/nauseous again so I guess I'm not out of the woods yet. If I feel this way in the morning I will ask to see the Dr. since I will be in the office anyway. I don't really want to cancel my appointment for the blood work since I already did that once.

I hope you feel better soon Amber! And I hope Mike & Spencer don't get sick. Jeremiah hasn't been nearly as sick as me (why does it always work out that way?:confused3 His immune system must be much stronger than mine!)

It sounds like you could have H1NI then (from what I have read, it includes nausea, unlike the normal flu).

I hope you both feel better Ashley and Amber!

I know what you mean about FB Ashley, the mom of a friend of mine posts annoying political comments all the time and it's totally changed my opinion of her.

Oh gosh, I don't like those at all! I have a couple friends that do that. I don't mind reading politics in the right forum, but to me Facebook is NOT that! I just want fun fluff things to read. I don't mind the little polls and all that, but some of the other things are over the top! That is when the 'hide' button comes in handy. ;) :rolleyes1

I have to share my excitement with you guys!!---I'm not supposed to tell anybody else but I'm safe on here.

My mom just surprised me- she is taking me to Disney for my birthday!! :yay: Just the two of us. I am sooooooo excited and surprised!

We are leaving here October 7 and coming back the 9th. Actually we are trying to add another night and stay on until the 10th, but right now everything is booked. Hopefully something will open up!

I'm so happy I didn't cancel my dining reservations yet- I had made some months ago because I thought we were going to go to Disney for my birthday but it didn't work out. I will be eating at 'Ohana for my birthday dinner on the 8th!

That's a great gift Ashley!

Ugh, I'm so tired of work drama, I though I left all that crap behind me. I'm going to have to watch what I say and do because a coworker gave me some 'advice' the other day and it's still bothering me. I know that anywhere you work you're going to have issues and drama, but it would be great not to.

Speaking of work, I might be going back to Yankee Candle for the holidays. I stopped by there because I saw that they were hiring for the holidays and talked to my old manager. If I get it, I hope it works out because my schedule will be changing next month and if I get the afternoon shift, it might not because from what I've heard the plane is usually delayed in the winter and of course that means I would have to stay there until it leaves.

Steven and I saw 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' and it was so cute! But what really got me excited was seeing the Toy Story 3 promo, I can't wait!

Take me with you Ashley! :rotfl: (I have some comp tickets & a free SW flight... just sayin'.) Oh I wish I really could, but I'll be there in spirit. Have an extra fruity drink for me at 'Ohana! That's a fantastic surprise!!

I had a surprise a few minutes ago too... more raccoons! I was up late finishing up my homework and heard my cat growling -- which I usually ignore because Roxy always growls instead of meowing -- but it sounded weird so I checked it out. It was Dusty! She had a raccoon cornered by the cat's water dish! It couldn't have cared less, it was just drinking away. Then I went out in the garage to lock the pet door and sure enough, there was another guy wandering around in the garage. They are just so nonchalant about it, it's pretty funny actually. These guys are so fat & slow I'd be surprised if they tried to attack. (Not to say I'm trying to befriend them or anything! They just don't bother me that much.) I wonder where they come from, and why MY house?! We live right by a busy main intersection. Weird.

I had my chat with my store manager today, she's going to leave some paperwork for me to review and we'll talk again in a week or so. She does things a little differently and likes to talk in circles - she uses metaphors a lot but often misuses them or gets them mixed up so it can be really tough to decipher what the heck she really means. I think we're making some progress though. She doesn't think I'm ready for the open ASM position (and neither do I, but I'd like to learn) but it sounds like she is considering making me a lead. That would be a step in the right direction, I think. I'd really like to at the very least right now, have ONE job that I can work close to full time and get benefits so I don't have to worry about medical insurance after the COBRA subsidy runs out in Nov, and so I'm not stretched quite so thin. The rest will fall into place if I can get that part figured out. I really don't want to leave the TDS job, so that's the one I'm focusing on developing into full time right now. That's the plan anyway! It's been a year and a half, and I still never have that "Oh, I do NOT want to go to work today" feeling there. That's gotta count for something, right? Anyway... wish me luck for our next "chat"... I'll need it!

Nicole, I'm sorry about the workplace drama. I think that most people just love drama, no matter where they are it follows them around. Drives me crazy! That's a big reason why I keep to myself a lot, I just don't want other people's drama. Hopefully you can get things worked out with YC, that seems like it would be a good way to keep busy over the holidays.

Lin... tell Connor we can't wait to meet him!!

Amber... Spencer might be disappointed to hear that Emma has a boyfriend back home. Justin is 11 and Miss Emma Rose just can't wait to play with him every time she goes to Grammy's house. She gives him special little snacks and they ride bikes together. Well, she rides near him and he tolerates it, but it makes her happy. :lmao: Justin's grandma lives next door to Grammy and is Emma's "honorary grandma," and Justin used to visit a lot in the summer but now moved in so Emma is pretty stoked. I keep telling her he's too old and she needs a nice little blond Florida boy! :teeth:

Gotta run, it's way too close to morning for comfort. At least my homework is all done - for tomorrow anyway. New rules at work: no personal internet except during the newly-reduced-to-1/2-hour-lunch-break. Poop.
