The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi girlls!!!!

Amber, I'm so sorry about your MIL!! That makes me so mad for you!! Hopefully you have an ok time regardless and then you can ditch them when you get to your family.;)

Nicole- sorry about the drama with your job!! That's why I left my job last year after Jeremiah started working at Whole Foods, I just couldn't take the drama anymore, even though the extra money would've been nice. Sometimes you have to put a price on your sanity and see what amount of money is worth it!!

Lyzziesmom- so glad your Mom "accidently" found the stubs!! For the first time I'm sure you were happy she snoops.;) I hope Emma's hearing is ok. She is a trickster isn't she?? I think I need that hearing test, oftentimes I will be having a conversation or watching a movie and I can hear sounds like the persons voice, but I have no idea what they are saying.:confused3 Very weird!! I'm so excited for you about starting school again--it's going to be great!:yay:

Hope you guys are having a wonderful week!!!

Amber- Drive safe and wear your seatbelt if we don't talk to you before you leave!!

Ashley, I'm sure I need to have my hearing checked too. My parents keep telling me that I talk really loud. Well duh... both my grandpa and my mom have loud voices and I'm sure it's just the way I am, but God forbid that should be ok. Apparently my grandma also commented on my loud voice to my mom, and last year she also asked me if I am hard of hearing. If we are in a crowded place (pretty much any public place) I can't pick voices out of the background noise, especially higher voices like Emma's. I am constantly telling the kids to point their mouths at my ears when they talk to me. However, I also think the tv is usually too loud and can hear many quiet noises, such as today I could hear an escaped cricket behind a shelf in the pet store and pinpoint where it was hiding -- so it's iffy. I guess I've been putting it off because I don't want to know if there is a problem. How dumb is that?!

Emma has been lying about lots of things lately and it's driving me crazy. I've talked to her about it until she cries and tells me to stop because she feels bad, but then she lies again. I can usually catch her but sometimes it's just such stupid stuff (like what she had for snack at school) and she is so sweet that sometimes I don't catch it. I fear for that girl's teenage years.

I think alot of it is her age. She will grow out of it!!

I don't want to know if theres a problem with my hearing, either. But it is really frusterating when we are the movies and I have no idea what the actors are saying (and I always have to ask Jeremiah to repeat it!) I live with my tv on closed captioning. Alot of times in person if I can't understand what a person is saying I will just smile and nod. ::yes:: :teeth:

Nicole, I'm working working working too. Last night and most of the afternoon today, so that kind of kills any other plans for today since the kids won't get here until almost 11am, and I have to work at 2. :(

We had a great day yesterday. We went to a local town festival -- they are popping up all over this time of year. There was a pancake breakfast, a parade, and arts & crafts booths. There was also yummy junk food and pony rides for the kids. It was cold but Emma still got sunburned, poor kid. We still had lots of fun.

The festival sounds like fun Lyzziesmom! I was going to go to a Greek festival yesterday but it started raining and of course it was outside.

Hellooo...helloooo.oooo...oooo....

Is there an echo in here? It's been awfully quiet! Has everyone been busy? We've had Spring Fever around here, everyone just wants to be outside all the time! Even the cats! Dusty, our old cat who hates to even look outside, has ventured out a few times -- we were all very surprised. Jonas runs out every chance he gets and has been busy trying to figure out how to open doors -- so far he has only gotten as far as climbing the screen door. :( Roxy snuck out the other night and spent the night in the garage & attic. When she finally came in the next morning, she couldn't decide where to go first: litterbox or food dish!

I am going to once again try my hand at some simple gardening this afternoon. I picked up a packet of butterfly garden seeds, and a few geranium plants. Usually I have 2 black thumbs, but for some reason I keep trying every spring. Wish me luck!

How is the job/job hunt going, Nicole?

Amber, are you back from your visit yet? How was it? Did Spencer like the DVD player? I bet he loved it. I hope the car ride wasn't too bad.

I bought our plane tickets for the way to MCO for our Sept. trip!! I've been keeping a close eye on the Southwest site and the rates went down just for a few hours. Since I paid with my Southwest Visa card, I should earn enough points for a free flight. I am hoping that will come through soon enough to apply it to the return flight, because those prices are still sky-high!! My mom said she thought we had a talk and decided to cancel the trip -- I got all panicked and said, "Now does that sound like me?" Turns out it was a dream she had. It had better not come true, I need that trip to look forward to!

Emma had her last day of preschool yesterday, she wouldn't even say goodbye to any of her friends because it was too sad. :( They had "field day" and she said it was lots of fun. I took her to lunch at McD's, the library, and then she showed me a Chinese market my mom goes to sometimes. It was really neat. They had lots of candy that I've bought in Epcot! (and it was a lot cheaper here) Who knew you could get Hi-Chew right here in Kansas?!

Hey guys!!!

So what's new? Nothing much here- except one thing, I am going to the American Idol concert with my Grandma in July!:cool1: We've been to two others- the first season when Kelly Clarkson won, and I think it was the second??? when Ruben Studdard won and they were both fun! We are looking forward to it! :cool1:

I'm going to the saltwater fish place today with my Aunt, she has a saltwater fish tank and wants to get some fish. Those tanks are beautiful, but so expensive!:scared1: Makes me wonder how much money they spend maintaining that huge tank at Rainforest Cafe!!:scared1::scared:

Lyzziesmom, I know what you mean about needing something to look forward to! I need stuff like that too. Although its hard for me to "really" look forward to my September trip since the last 2 trips we had planned got canceled for one reason or another! I'm being positive though and am convinced everything will fall into place for this trip- main worry is Jeremiah getting the time off work without problems (main reason we had to cancel the other trips!)

Glad you got your flights, I bet it feels really real now!:woohoo: Now when are we going to start planning our itineraries?! (spelling nazi, I'm tired and don't feel like spell checking today.)

The Chinese market sounds fun!! I remember when we went shopping in World Showcase together and had so much fun, spending hours just walking around! You are the reason Jeremiah is hooked to that candy that has the wrapper that dissolves in your mouth, since you introduced me to it! :lmao: I think we got that in Japan though!

Nicole-- is your job getting any better?? Have any luck looking for a new one?

Amber, Hopefully you are having a fun time in West Virginia!! On your way home stop at South of the Border for me. :teeth: :lmao: Jeremiah and I always did that when we started getting stir crazy in the car (actually I'm always stir crazy in the car!!)

Lin-- We miss you posting in here!!!

Tonight we are going to my parents house to help them set up their computer, it was getting fixed. My Dad got a new Ipod so he wants me to show him how to use it. I don't mind, they said they would pay for dinner.:woohoo:

Lyzziesmom- Congrats on getting the flight booked! I wish I had a trip to look forward to. I can't remember if I told anyone, but Steven, his dad, his sister and I are going to Wisconsin next month for his cousin's wedding. So I'm looking forward to that. I just wish it was a trip to WDW instead!!! There is a Asian market close to me, I'll have to see if they have any Hi Chew there.

Ashley- The AI concert sounds like fun!

Amber- I hope you are having a great time with your family!

The job/job hunt is going okay. Still tons of drama at work. :sad2: She's trying to get the 2 other sales leaders to quit.

I passed my classes this semester so now I only have spanish to take next semester and I'll be done! I can't wait!

Nicole, that's great that you are almost done with school. You must be so excited! Are you going to be anywhere near Wisconsin Dells? I visited there when I was really little, I don't remember much but even at a young age I remember thinking it was no Disney. I guess I've always been a theme park snob!!

Ashley -- the Chinese market here has Japanese stuff too, and they actually have that candy with the wrappers you can eat!! :rotfl: I was just telling Lyzzie about it. It only comes in a big giant bag though, so I didn't buy it. Some of the things there are really scary. The back of the store has live fish & crabs, and a rack of dead ones on ice, plus also dead squids and baby octopus. :scared: I made sure not to buy anything that didn't have it's English name on it somewhere!!

Emma has been bugging me for an hour to play computer games, so I'd better let her. We went to the indoor pool this afternoon and I am so pooped, I think I'll take a nap while she plays.

Hey All!

We got back last night (left at 3:30am)!!! I am NOT happy about being back at all.

Spencer was awesome in the car, although last night he did get fussy. He watched movies, played with toys, and slept.

My family couldn't get enough of him; he had a fantastic time there. On Saturday we went to my dad's and my cousins had their kids there. The little boy is 20 months and Spencer went right up to him and started talking. Then, Spencer gave him two hugs. After that though, Aiden had enough and pushed Spencer away. They did walk around together a bit. It was the first time Spencer has really been around a kid his age, so I think he did great.

There was a ton of family drama that happened with Mike's family (were only heard about it though) and it made us want to move back to WV even more.

Gotta catch up!

Welcome back Amber! Glad to hear that Spencer had such a great time. Isn't it so cute to watch little ones together?

Hey Loves!!!!!!!

Breezing in to say how much I miss chatting more! If the disboards would stop giving me a wierd security error I wouldn't be gone so often!!! I miss you guys!

Hey Lin, glad you stopped by! It's been awfully quiet around here with so few of us left. How the heck are ya? Are you looking forward to the end of the school year? How have you been feeling? You and Chris must be SO excited!! I sure hope the weird error gets fixed so you can come by more often.

Hey girls!!!

OK- so what did everyone think of American Idol? I don't want to talk about it yet incase Lyzziesmom hasn't watched it yet. ;)

Lin!! Great to see you drop by!!! :)

Amber- so sorry about your back!! Are you feeling any better? I absolutely LOVE the pictures you posted on Facebook!! I think Spencer is going to be a tall little boy!!:lovestruc

We were supposed to go to the movies tonight but we're being lazy. Jeremiah's playing a video game and I'm on here!

Hey All!

Lin, so good to "see" you! I hope you are feeling well.

Ashley, I do not even want to discuss AI. I am not happy with the results, but I guess it doesn't matter much.

Glad you liked the pictures. :) I hope Spencer will be tall. Mike's family has some shorties, but my family (mom's side) has lots of people over 6ft. I'll have to post Mike's picture so you can see how much they look alike.

I have no idea what I have done to my back, but I am in SO much pain. I think sitting in a car for 18 hours had something to do with it. It was a bit sore when we got home and yesterday it wasn't any better. Today though, I can barely move. :sad1:

Thanks for not talking about Idol -- you're right, we haven't watched it yet! We still haven't watched last week's results to see who the top 2 are. We are going to have to have an Idolfest Day or something to get all caught up.

Emma and I spent the day at the farm and my mom tagged along. It was actually hot today! It was pretty nice as long as we were not right in the sun. There is a cat that lives at the farm, and as we were petting the cat it saw a bird in the tree -- it was a blue parakeet! I was very surprised to see a parakeet just hanging out in a tree. They were a common sight in FL but do not live wild around here. The cat jumped almost 6' in the air trying to get it and did a couple flips, it was pretty funny.

Tomorrow we are going to a kids music festival called Jiggle Jam, it's supposed to be the best in the country and looks like fun. We are headed out in a few minutes to buy our tickets, they are a few bucks less to buy in advance at the grocery store. Now that it's been nice weather, there have been tons of festivals and we are busy almost every day! You know me, always gotta have something fun to do. :teeth:

Amber, I hope your back feels better soon. Back pain is awful, it can really incapacitate you. I'm sure the long car ride had something to do with it. Take it easy and try to stretch as much as you can.

Anyone have any plans for the long weekend?
