I've had such a fun time reading other TR's on the DIS, I honestly couldn't decide if I wanted to start one or not. Then, I figured I could use it to go along with my journaling, so my lovely family could relive all our splenderous moments while back at home.

Or something to that effect.

Notice that title up there? That will change once I get back home. I just don't know what to call this report right now, although "DIS-ing my way to carpal tunnel syndrome" would be pretty accurate about now. I'm hoping I may be able to title the TR "A night at Cindy's castle on my BIRTHDAY!" or maybe "How I got Grumpy to be Dopey in order for me to be Happy"? Could be "The NOT-pictures TR", because I don't post photos of my children on the internet. Actually, I don't post photos of my children that look like my children. You'll have to keep reading to see what I mean.

Here's all our vital information, to those of you that have made it this far.

Me - Twingle, 32, SAHM to three kiddos, Dis-o-holic, big fan of the Mouse (aren't we all?), etc., etc. I'm sure you'll learn more about me as we venture along.

DH - The REAL #1 Hokie Fan, 41. Really, after the tragedy at VT we are all Hokies to some extent, but if I had known ten years ago that to DH and especially DH's family that sometimes the HOKIE pokie is really what it's all about, I don't know if I could've handled it. I knew nothing of the obsession that is VT to my husbands family. Ignorance was bliss. Anyway, Mr. Twingle up there is a hard hard working dude. As in, we honeymooned, and then didn't vacation again until our son was almost four. Which would be almost six years. If you add that up in Disney time, that could've been about 12 trips.

DS - The amazing brain. Seven and 1/2 going on 38. The stuff he knows is scary. He's smarter than me and in the first grade. Lovely, lovely child, totally adore him. Sweetest little guy ever, we've definately been blessed. Wanna see his picture?

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s51/jmcclenny/100_1934.jpg

That was taken on his seventh birthday. We're hoping the financing for his hair plugs and nose job will come in soon. I'm not too worried about his teeth, since Pirates are so popular right now. He's very hip.

DD #1 - Our LOUD girl, 3. Oh my gosh, she can make your ears bleed. Still can't figure out how to parent her, because all the tricks that worked on my son just don't cut the mustard with her. Still she's sweet, and sassy, and just amazing.

DD #2 - Part girl, part kitty cat, also 3 ('cause they're twins, you see?). Very much like her brother, except she believes that if she acts like a cat at least part of the time, we will then get a kitty as a pet for her to have for company. In discussing Disney, Mickey and the Gang, she let me know she has every intention of chasing Mickey and Minnie, since that's what cats do. Much like her sister, she's just as sweet and sassy and amazing as the day is long.

Here's a photo of my wonder twins. All dressed up to meet the public.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s51/jmcclenny/100_3799.jpg

That would be #1 in the pink, and #2 in the blue, in case you were curious.

Now, those are the first photos I've posted on the DIS EVER, so if they are too big, or wonky, or sideways, or something else that can be wrong with photos, I apologize. I'll try to do better!

In any event, I have to go make dinner for my troops. I'll continue on later!

Well, those were some mighty big photos. I re-sized them on photobucket, but they were still really big on DIS, so I'll have to figure that out later.

We vacation with my parents, so here is their introduction:

Nana - "post my age and I'll kill you", currently on medical leave from her job. Amazing grandma, even though she may occassionally have a small tendancy to play favourites. Not that I said that. Has the ability to make her own hidden mickey - see?

86529dfe.jpg

Those are fruit loops, by the way.

Papa - 60ish, give or take an ish. Retired military man, but still working hard as a government contractor. Not a very present dad (see "military man"), but a cracking grandpa. Loves my kids like there is no tomorrow.

88f49e5f.jpg

That's not really him, but he loves that picture.

We've been DVC members at SSR since January, 2005. We made our first trip "home" in December of that same year, and had a very nice time. In June, 2006, Nana and I took the kids on a five day trip and stayed at OKW, which we also enjoyed. October, 2006, we went back to Disney, this time staying off-site, as I had already booked all our points for this trip, June, 2007.

We're staying at SSR again, from June 8 - June 17. I've got ADR's made, a few surprises planned, and I'll be celebrating my 33rd birthday on the 14th.

Share more later . . .

Twingle!!! So glad to see you started this. :thumbsup2

I'm taking a quick break from packing and wanted to let you know that:

1) the nothing arrived shortly after I got home from the office - our cat actually helped me find it. It's the best nothing I've never seen.

2) absolutely love the way you write - you crack me up!

3) disguising your children was sheer brilliance...and I know a good dentist in this area should you need one. ;)

4) Nana rocks!

5) Happy Birthday to you! :goodvibes

OOOHHHH - I have a reader! YAY! :goodvibes A hearty welcome to you, Oybolshoi! Granted, you won't get said cherry greeting until you return from Disney, but it's right up there waiting for you.

Glad the nothing arrived in one piece. The salesgirl asked if I wanted more nothing to go along with, but I didn't want to overdo it, KWIM?

I write the way I speak, as opposed to how I think, because that would just be weird and scary for all parties involved. But, since I do write the way I speak, I tend to be wittier in under four paragraphs. But then, most people who say they are witty, or hip, are usually sadly neither. Guess I'm screwed.

Oh yes, have to disguise the children and all other family members. Remember my super smart son I mentioned up there in my first post? He also has a memory to rival the biggest memory of the oldest elephant you can find. We've talked about internet "rules", and you better believe that if I was posting "real" photos of us on the internet now, when he turns 13 or however old kids have a myspace page are, and the "rules" said he may not under any circumstances post photos of himself, his friends, his family, or the hamster when I had done it six years previous, the virtual dooky would hit the fan.

Holy crud that was a long sentence.

I neglected to share NON-phots of Mr. Twingle and myself, so here ya go:

57ea5665.jpg

We refer to this as my Six-O'Clock-News-Mental-Patient-Escapee-photograph. Don't I look . . . not quite all there? Also, notice the lovely rash around my lips. Know what that's from? DuWop Lip Venom. I applied it for the first time three minutes before I was going to get my son from school. It itched and burned, and I'm not vain enough to suffer from an itchy, burning rash for beauty.

Here's Mr. Twingle:

6bf95376.jpg

We were participating in a scavenger hunt at my son's school, and you had to dress like a Wet Wally when you were turning in your finds. Mr. Twingle is the one in the too small ladies red shoes. The lovely gent behind him, wearing the surgical cap under a baseball hat is one of our best friends, who lost the coin toss to wear the too small ladies red shoes.

So, here we are, getting ready to visit Disney again in 2 weeks. For anyone that mulled through the past few paragraphs, and is still hanging on hoping for some actual Disney information, here ya go.

Arrive appoximately 11:00 a.m. at MCO, where our chariot bus will be eagerly awaiting us. We'll head on over to SSR, where our room will most likely not be ready. Right now we're planning on going to Downtown Disney to renew our AP's, do some shopping, etc. Maybe get a Hot Roast Beef Smoothie that Mr. Oybolshoi recommends.

We have the following ADR's planned:

June 8th - Chef Mickey's for dinner
June 9th - Crystal Palace for breakfast
June 10th - Hoop Dee Doo Review (be our first time!)
June 11th - Garden Grill for lunch
June 12th - Donald's Breakfastasaurs at the Resturantosaurs
June 13th - 'Ohana's for breakfast
June 14th - 1900 Park Faire for dinner (first time, Happy Birthday to ME!)
June 15th - Alfredo's for dinner, only Mr. Twingle and me:love:
June 16th - 50's Prime Time Cafe for dinner
June 17th - Whispering Creek Canyon for breakfast (first time!we need ketchup and straws!)

As you can tell, we are especially fond of both characters and buffets.

The surprises I've planned are:

Papa, Mr. Twingle, and DS will be going on the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot on June 11th. All three boys like to garden, and Mr. Twingle is a soil scientist, so he'll enjoy the dirt aspect.

Papa and Mr. Twingle are taking the Segway tour on the 15th, as Papa always wishfully states "I wish I could go on the Segway tour" everytime we see them when we are at Epcot. Mr. Twingle is going along for the ride, ha ha pun intended.

This is our "original" Disney planner, that I made.

06826c3c.jpg

Covered a notebook I found at my local Target. But, I made the ultimate faux-pas in Scrapbooking.

I wrote in pen.

And Tour Guide Mike changed his mind.

So this is our new Disney planner, that has taken me three days to make, because my girls want to be junior versions of Suzy Helpershoes.

cf641948.jpg

I almost like this one better, because it's a little larger and has pockets inside. And I haven't written anything in it yet, ergo, it is still "right".

Now, I haven't mentioned yet (being as I've mentioned so much other stuff), the obsession I have currently found that is matching t-shirts. I made tie-dyed Mickey t-shirts for our October trip, and thought I was all that plus a bag of chips. But then, I found out about Zazzle. Which lead to the lovely Dis thread about iron-on transfers.

I almost had to add days on to our trip so we could get all our matchy-match t-shirts fit into our vacation.

Here are our Zazzle t-shirts:

e72feb88.jpg

Notice that little saying? It says "Put On A Happy Face". This will be our motto for the upcoming Disney trip. Not "Ahheeemmm, if you call into work ONE MORE TIME I will NOT be responsible for where the extra ketchup bottles at Whispering Creek Canyon END UP!". Just "Put On A Happy Face". Hard to say "Happy" without smiling. Try it. I have time.

Here's one version of Mickey Tie-Dye shirts:

e6c04d45.jpg

My son wanted them to be only orange and yellow. So there you go. I know Mickey looks a little lumpy on the right side there, but it's okay. He either has a big wad of gum tucked into his cheek, or maybe I interrupted him mid-chew. Or maybe he's listening to his IPod.

Here's the rainbow version of Mickey Spiral Tie-Dye:

f2249fb5.jpg

I think these are okay. They didn't turn out exactly like I had planned, but really, what in life does? I used black dye for the Mickey Head, and on some of the shirts Mickey's Head was wicked big. So, I used a Clorox bleach pen to go around. These photos are pre-bleach pen. If you really need to see what they look like after bleach pen, I'll take another photo of a t-shirt.

I also have three or four transfer desings that I'm trying to . . . . transfer onto t-shirts. The shirts are washed and dried, I just need to break out the iron. Hopefully that will get done this weekend.

I also have directions from our friend nts4wdw to make a splatter mickey design. Maybe those will get done this weekend too. I have to make sure the children are in sleep induced comas to do those. Because I almost killed twin #1 when I was doing the orange/yellow tie-dye.

Oh, you really want to know why?

Okay then, nosey minx.

Originally, the boy t-shirts were going to be orange/yellow. And the girl t-shirts were going to be pink/yellow. SO, I sewed shirts to have little Mickey Heads on them, and rubber banded my little heart out. Seven times. And, backtracking a bit, when I do the "simple" tie-dye, I use Rit Dye and the washing machine. Okay? So, I get the pink dye all ready in the washing machine, and I'm ready to put the girl t-shirts in. And twin #1, really, really, REALLY wants to help. In trying to be a nice mumma, I told her not this time, but she can help with the next load of laundry.

Well. She didn't care for that answer.

So. She got the Zazzle t-shirts. That we had just gotten, and were in the laundry room waiting to be washed. The WHITE Zazzle t-shirts. And there was PINK dye in the washing machine.

Can you guess what happened?

That's right. She threw the white t-shirts in the washer. It was bad. Bad bad. Badder that bad. Ninth circle of Hell bad.

And I had no bleach in the house.

Long story short (too late!), I was able to get the pink dye out of all seven shirts, thanks to a wonderful girlfriend that took pity on my daughter and brought me two boxes of Rit Dye Remover, that she had crossed out the label and written "Twin Butt Saver". And a bottle of bleach. And some M&M's.

And just as a sidenote, none of my kids have helped me with the laundry since. I believe they may be scarred for life.

I am so glad you did this!! You are funny! And the restraint you showed in not harming your daughter during the "horrible dye incident"! Amazing!!!
You mentioned me! I feel famous. Our dates do overlap. Maybe we'll bump into each other. :goodvibes Looking forward to more.

Oh, forgot to tell you. Love your planning books. I am a wannabe scrapbooker, but my stuff looks terrible.

Ok I'm in to follow your story and see what else the twins get into!

Well butter my buns and call me a biscut! I'm off the DIS boards for a few days and lookit all the new friends I have! :)

:jumping1: Since the lovely nts4wdw came to check out my pre-trippie!

:welcome: hollybearsmom, DisneyJo, rentayenta, and roxannesteve!

nts4wdw, glad you liked the travel planners! You should definately try scrapbooking again. I was able to take a class with Donna Downey (published scrapbooking author and a contributor to Simple Scrapbooks Magazine) earlier this year, and I really held onto two things that she said. One was, everything you make is PERFECT just the way YOU create it. NO ONE else can make the things YOU make, because there is just ONE you. The other thing she said was that homemade things should look just like that - HOMEMADE. Not commercial made.

Ah yes, we could all wonder what naughties the twin-ados will get into. They are bonkers, venturing into the valley of the mad. Love them to death, but oh my gosh, would it kill them to just SIT DOWN for a minute? Probably so! Twin #1 insists that Cinderella will be buttering her bread when we are at 1900 Park Faire, since she thinks we are actually "eating" with Cindy and the Prince. Hhhmmm. Have to cross that bridge when I come to it.

Disney Jo and rentayenta, glad you like the shirts! They are fun to make, although seven of them can be a bit time consuming.

I'm hoping to get some t-shirts done today, and start putting information into the new travel planner. Nothing better than getting to the airport and saying to the stressed-out ticket agent that your print-out of your tickets is at home, in the old travel planner. Not that that's happened to me . . .

Hopefully post some t-shirt photos later today - I have several of the iron-on transfers printed up, and I'm trying to figure out what I can use as a non-ironing board in my house. Really, what's up with that? On the transfer directions it says, DO NOT IRON ON AN IRONING BOARD. Well, what else is that thing for? Surfing?

Keep your fingeres crossed that I'll be able to convince my husband that we need to add on DVC points at Villas at Wilderness Lodge. I've mentioned it to him a few times, how nice it would be to own there, because when we go in October we usually just go to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and Wilderness Lodge is sooooo close to Magic Kingdom. But, he disagrees. Because he owns a RCI :crazy2: Timeshare, and there are TONS of RCI:crazy2: resorts in the Disney area. BUT . . .

He purchased the RCI :crazy2: timeshare before we met when he went to Mexico WITH A DIFFERENT GIRLFRIEND. Now, I know that I had no idea the man even exsisted when he went on this trip with that girlfriend and purchased said timeshare, but because he purchased the timeshare with her (not her name on the deed, she was just with him at the time), all RCI :crazy2: Timeshare vacations are contaminated by proxy. See how my mind works? I know, it's sick.

Really, in all honestly I'm very happy and VERY lucky that we have DVC and RCI. I would just be much happier and luckier if we sold the RCI and purchased more DVC points. Because, in re-reading that sentence, I am apparently a spoiled brat. Nanny nanny boo boo.:snooty:

In any event, since I know that nts4wdw will be at Disney around the same time, this is our (tentative) schedule. I've left lots of open time, because really the only thing we plan is our meals. I "do" Tour Guide Mike (snicker, snicker, my mind is in the gutter) because I like his least crowded chart. I can't tell you anymore about that, otherwise hoodlums may come and take away my Tour Guide Mike information.

Friday, June 8th: arrive, Downtown Disney, Chef Mickey's, Magic Kingdom for fireworks?

Saturday, June 9th: Crystal Palace, planning on staying the whole day at Magic Kingdom.

Sunday, June 10th: Open day, but we'll probably go to MGM for Star Wars weekends, Hoop Dee Doo Review (and looking around Wilderness Lodge, HA HA!)

Monday, June 11th: Epcot, Garden Grill, boys on Garden Tour, hopefully make it to Illuminations.

Tuesday, June 12th: Animal Kingdom, eat with Donald (because Donalds Breakfastasurs at the Resturantosaurs takes too long to type . . . oops), maybe go to Magic Kingdom in the evening?

Wednesday, June 13th: 'Ohana, and then I have no idea. Maybe Disney Quest, or relaxing at the resort? Who knows?

Thursday, June 14th: Happy Birthday to ME! Probably MGM during the day, 1900 Park Faire, and then to Magic Kingdom for the parade and fireworks.

Friday, June 15th: Epcot, Papa and Mr. Twingle on their Segway tour, Alfredo's, maybe Illuminations again.

Saturday, June 16th: MGM again for Star Wars. Love me some Star Wars. 50's Prime Time Cafe.

Sunday, June 17th: Whispering Creek Canyon (see? we're at Wilderness Lodge AGAIN!), and then maybe shopping at Downtown Disney and go back to whatever we want to do again. Our flight out is late, so we can go to the parks this day.

Thanks everyone for reading along -

Where to start??? I am so happy you are writing this and that you will be to Disney and back before I go so I can live vicariously through you. I LOVE LOVE LOVE those planning books and now must make one. I finally got the craft room back in order (which is why I have been so absent from my own report) so I have plenty of time and room - yipeee!

Glad to see you are a member of the matching T-shirt club. I thought I made a lot but I can't imagine making 7 for each day. Kudo's to you:thumbsup2.

Please Please Please let me know the directions for nts4wdw's splatter design as I am beginning a few new shirts for our Sept Trip. Or maybe since she is a fan and will be reading this she can tell me :goodvibes. We T-shirt design addicts have to stick together.

Your kids are adorable even in disquise!!

Finally, color me jealous ::yes:: you have TWO time shares. I will get those DVC points back some day if it is the end of me :rotfl2:

I will be waiting and reading. I can't believe you are so close to your trip!

Great update!
Thanks for the encouragement about scrapbooking! I just keep trying. ;)
My Travel notebook is definitely more practical than pretty! You inspired me, though. I posted some pics of it on my thread.
Can't wait to see your t shirts!:thumbsup2
OK, looking at your schedule, we will be in alot of the same places! :lmao: Gotta love TourGuide Mike! The children tease me about him being my "Boyfriend", but now I can't tell them that you are "doing" him! :rotfl2: Just teasing!
11 more days for me, 12 for you!!

Oh Twingle, I'm so enjoying this pre-TR! :woohoo:

I love the photo of 'Papa'. He looks a little jaundiced though. :lmao:

OMG! You are so brave. I don't know anyone else who'd post a pic of themselves with a facial rash. You are so funny!!! :rotfl2: Though let me add that the non-raging-rash parts of your face are very pretty. ::yes::

The t-shirts and Disney planners are AMAZING!!! Wow, you are so creative. Great job! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more.....

Okay, been working like a house elf here in Virginia today! Filled in my planner, and if Mike changes his mind AGAIN, he's going to have a little visit from moi when I get to Mickey World. No, really, I'll just "X" out the wrong info and put "peroxide addled brain".

Oh, don't believe me? It apparently is affecting my spelling also. See, this is where I was yesterday:

19747eb1.jpg

(singing as if Justin Timberlakes SexyBack) I'm brining Blondie back, yeah, and all the fellows don't know how to act".

That is some wicked blonde hair I have on my head now. Hopefully it'll calm down, because WHOA. I think I belong on a pole somewhere. That's not too child friendly, is it? Glad my kids don't read this. Reminds me of DebIrelands post about finding leather chaps for her son's Halloween costume. Don't be so naughty, he didn't dress up LIKE THAT. Go read her TR, it's a stitch. But not that screamy annoying alien thing. It's a funny costume, okay?

I was blonde FOREVER, and then I had my girls. What the heck does pregnancy do to you? I used to have stick straight light blonde hair. I now have dark brown (well, inbetween dye treatments) curly hair. So, my son remembers me with my blonde hair, and asked me earlier this week if I would PLEASE look like him again - I had no clue what he was talking about. He said he wanted to look like at least one of his parents (and he does, he looks like me. Mr. Twingle insists he contributed no DNA to the child), and since he has, and I quote "Daddy-No-Hair" could I please have blonde hair again? Well, son, Daddy DOES have hair. Just not much of it is on his head okay? In any event, I wandered over to my stylist and she fixed me right up.

DebIreland - so glad you found me and find me funny! Papa does look jaundiced, doesn't he? He was in both the Navy and the Coast Guard for many, many, many years, so maybe he's got scurvy? Let's feed him oranges and put him into the sunshine! Oh yes, the facial rash. See, pretty good disguise, yes? You may THINK you see me in Disney, but then you'll say "hhmmm, no rash. No wonky left eye. Nah, couldn't be her". Thanks for saying I look pretty though :cloud9: . Only a true lover of beauty could see that behind the mental health escapee look.

nts4wdw - love your planner! Already posted on your thread, so glad you shared it! Yup, totally "doing" Tour Guide Mike, and good golly, when did I venture back into middle school? ;)

MNRMommy - glad to have you here also! nts4wdw has the directions on her pre-trippie, but I'll be happy to post them here once I dye those shirts. It's started raining here, so I won't get those done today.

Wanna see the shirts I did get done today? OKAY!

I also have the transfers for my shirt (it's my birthday, feel free to treat me like a princess and my mom's shirt (it's my daughter's birthday, feel free to treat me like a queen), but the iron was getting so hot (as opposed to anything else, durh. See "peroxide addled brain" mentioned above) I had to have a break from it for awhile. I'll try to get those two done tonight, but I have horribly ignored my children and my husband today (and it was FUN! Very nice break!), and they'll probably want to see me, or start questioning who the blonde tart in mom's office is.

Also wanted to add that I saw Pirates of the Carribean 3 on Friday, and there is a big fat spoiler coming next . . .

SPOILER!

DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!

I was SO upset with how they ended things between Will and Elizabeth. Hated it. Sorry, but I'm a Disney girl, and since they had already killed off both of Elizabeth's parents, she was supposed to end up with her prince, yes? Anyway, I spent a day and a half being upset about it, and then found the thread on the Community Board (Official POC3 thread) and it cleared it all up for me! So now, I like the movie much better!

Also, remember that tomorrow we are celebrating Memorial Day, and no matter what you think of our President or of the War we are in right now, remember all those men and women that are in our military - they do a lot for us!

Take care, ta ta!

OK, that's some blonde hair, enough said.:)
Love all your shirts, but especially the first one! I hadn't seen that design. Where did you find it? (Shamelessly stealing design ideas.....:flower3: )
I didn't read your spoiler. We've got free passes to see POTC3 on our first day down there. It's nothing too bad, is it? An unhappy ending? Life has enough of those. I don't like them in my movies.
Guess we'll have to share TGMike, huh? I'm right there in middle school with you. (Can I copy your science notes?):rotfl2:
Looking forward to more.:cutie:

Guess I am going to have to go there and find out how to become "ok" with the movie. I too was very unhappy after the movie last night. HATED how it ended things and My porr DH, DS and Daddy had to hear all about how I invested all these years in a story to have them not give me my ending. Oh well. Glad to hear I am not alone:grouphug:.

MNR Mommy, did you find that thread? If not, I'll PM you and tell you about it.

nts4wdw - lucky you having free tickets! If you want, I can change the color font of my spoiler so you have to highlight it to read it. I don't think I gave too much away, but I don't want to ruin it for you.

Placed my Garden Grocer order this morning, this will be the first time we've used them. In the past, we've just muddled through with whatever snacks we bought with us (crushed crackers and fuzzy fruity snacks that were in the bottom of our carry on luggage), and tried to find snacks to purchase in the little store at the resort. Plus, we always need milk, fruit, and bread, so I went ahead and ordered those necessities.

Also, I'm having Sarah from Memories by Sarah create a gift basket for us. It just has Disney related snacks in it, but I think it turned out great. For some reason I can't upload the pic Sarah sent me, but I'll make sure to take a photo of it before we attack it. Sarah was WONDERFUL to work with, and very prompt with her replies. Her prices were extremely reasonable also.

So, I've canceled our paper delivery, I'm having the post office hold our mail, I'm all caught up on laundry, I have someone coming to take care of the hamster.

Still have to finish up those t-shirts, get a few more necessities from Wal*Mart or Target, do the laundry we create this week, and I'd better add our families addresses to my planner, because they take it personally if I don't send postcards.

Hhhmmm. Have to think of what else I'm forgetting to do!

MNR Mommy, did you find that thread? If not, I'll PM you and tell you about it.

Yep thanks for the direction to go there. I hope those guys are right because I really really want it to be true. I found the scene on you tube and DS and I watched it.

On a side note add me to your blonde until children club. I was blonde from birth until about half way through high school and then started dyeing. Lucky for me though I gave up the dye jobs shortly after DS was born so he won't ask me to go back. Sometimes I secretly want to but I just don't think I could keep up with it.

I can't believe you are so close to your trip. Have a very magical time.
