The One with the Mommy Meltdown

Hey Jennifer & Cassie -

First - Jennifer - loved your trip report. Boy did that bring back some memories! And Cassie - I had to laugh at some of your retorts to what people say and ask.

My "babies" are now 18 years old and 1 month, 2 weeks and 6 days from graduating from high school and 121 days until they leave for college (not that I'm counting!). :rotfl2: It seems like yesterday they were learning to walk and teething and crying at the same time (well - they still do that sometimes!). When my girls were born, I was told they were fraternal twins. They really didn't look that much alike though everyone always said - how can you tell them apart? Imagine my surprise when they were 10 and I found out they are identical!!! I still think the test was wrong and am tempted to redo it - but whatever. Anyway, it used to drive me CRAZY when I would be at the mall, or store, or disney, wherever and my girls are in a side-by-side stroller, dressed the same from head to toe and people would say - are they twins? I got so irritated once I told a lady they were actually triplets but I gave one away! I did - truly - put a sign on their stroller that said - thank you for looking but please don't touch the babies. I couldn't believe people would actually reach into their stroller and touch them!

Anyway - it does get easier as they get older. Its about when they are four or five when they ask why people stare at them. I always told them it was because they were so pretty. I've asked them if it bugs them even now if people ask if they are twins and they just kind of shrug and say no - we're used to it. It will be really weird for them come August when they go to college because not only are they going to different colleges - they are going to different states! Not sure I'm ready for that...

Enjoy your babies. Before you know it they will be driving, then dating, then they'll be heading off to college!!! ahhhhhhhhh!

Thanks again for sharing your stories! I am taking my girls on an Adventures By Disney vacation the week after they graduate :yay: so we'll post our trip report somewhere...

Oh I look forward to reading that... where are you going?! How wonderful! :goodvibes

Hey Jennifer. We leave San Antonio on June 13th and will arrive in London the morning of June 14th. We are Girl Scouts (I am so proud my girls earned their Gold Award this year!) so we are going to visit PAX Lodge which is a World Guide Girl Scout house. Should have lots of history since the idea for the Girl Scout movement was brought over from England. The night we arrive we are going to see the London Symphony. I don't have "normal" 18 year old kids. I have girls that would rather go to the symphony than the movies! Did I mention they are going to be music majors? So we are in London for 3 days and then they take us through the chunnel to Paris! We are in Paris for 3 days and then.....DISNEYLAND PARIS!!!! So very excited about that! We will have almost 2 full days in the park and then we head home...

All this planning for 10 days...but I know you know how that feels!!!

Thanks again for your trip report. Brought back lots of memories.

You will love Disneyland Paris...I just wish I had more than one day to spend there! And I got there late so I did not even get to the studios part. Its much smaller than DW of course!

I was worried it wouldn't be enough but everyone who has been tells me it is. If it isn't - we'll just have to go back!!

I meant to post the ABD link. It is www.adventuresbydisney.com. Our trip is the England and France family vacation if you're really "board" and want to read more!

Natalie on the Creative Disigns board has made me some great art for shirts for us to wear. Hopefully my fashion queens won't balk too much!
