The One with the Mommy Meltdown

I am all caught up again and love all of your updates! I am still wondering about the title of your TR because I haven't seen you melt down once. Quite the contrary.....You seem really organized to me! Your bus ride to DTD sounded like h---, though. That, alone, would have caused me to MELT down!

Oh......of course your newest pics are fabulous, again!

Great report! I have twin girls too (and an older daughter) Kudos to you for taking them so young! You got GREAT pictures! The first time we went, our twins were 5.5 years and our oldest was 7.5. I hope you write another report for your next trip!

I was mostly talking about the first night, when we all cried all night... perhaps I didn't do it justice in the retelling!

oh wow, it is amazing the difference in your two twins with when they do and get things isnt it. My little man has been teething since about 4mos, so his will probably break through soon. My oldest accually only got her 2 bottom ones so early because she was playing and fell forward and poped them threw, but boy the fuzzeyness of teething was over for a month or 2 lol :rotfl:
ohh also i saw where your girls are or were in 3-6 mo, my little man is in a whoping 12mo. he is a little weed, but of course he was 10lbs 8oz at birth :lmao: c-section of course

Awesome TR!!! And how exciting the Girls will be back for Trip 2 in just a few short months. Summer is almost here...you know how fast it flies by, and then it will be October before you know it!;)

BTW - what was the promotional video you shot for owner's locker? Can you link it if it is live somewhere?

Oh, yeah. I remember that first night! That was rough, but the last two days of your trip was so magical. I hate to see it end!

Finally! If you missed any pictures, or just want to go back, they are in a Picasa album now (with the rest of our family albums).

Here you go!

And some of our Photopass pictures are here!

Thank you again for following along on our trip, and for all of your kind words! :goodvibes

When we laid them down to change diapers and/or put them back the stroller, they screamed louder. Mind you, my girls (partly because of parenting style(?) and partly because there are 2 of them and I've been home alone with them since about day 2) are NOT used to being held all the time. You wouldn't know it though, as they were beyond rotten when they weren't getting their way. Fine, I can handle that since it's been a long day. The only problem is, I couldn't figure out for the life of me what "their way" was :headache:

(I never really post replies to trip reports but I HAVE to reply to yours being a fellow mother of double troublers!)
I stayed at home with mine since they first came home as well and still do. Mine did NOT get used to being held all of the time either, but they got...and STILL get the same way when they are tired/sick/ just gernerally grouchy:confused:

The crowds were, again, unblelievable. We could hardly get through anywhere, a fact which was made infinitely worse by the spectacle that twins always are (seriously, you'd think they were uncommon ) and then compounded by the side-by-side stroller and matching outfits. Don't get me wrong, I think my girls are the cutest on the planet (as any mama should!) ... but I'd still like to go about my merry way and don't appreciate you stopping to stare while I'm trying to get to my castle and my first Dole Whip Pineapple Float in entirely too many months! :snooty:

I know exactly how you feel. I know you probably get it a LOT more than I do since yours are identical?(they look VERY similar if they're not)

I just want to pass flyers around that say, "Yes...we are twins...yes I am a boy and she's a girl...no we DO NOT look anything alike...!" LOL

And I will wear a shirt that says, "I DO NOT want you to know my pregnancy story and I DON'T know how I do it either...no...you probably couln't handle it.":lmao:

LOL...Sorry...I just really relate to you and your girls!

BTW...they are ADORABLE!!! It DOES get easier in public...a little:rolleyes1

Great trip report!! Very, um, educational. ;) I'm currently pregnant and DH and I are *hoping* to take a trip when this little one is 10+ months old, so it's always good to get an idea of what you're in for. :rotfl:

 This cracked me up this morning!

My girls actually aren't identical. I'm sure it will get easier in public (or at least quicker) when they aren't twins AND babies.... :)

I mentioned to another poster and still believe that 10 months would be an awesome time to go! My girls are almost there now (well, I guess they are - tomorrow!), and they are SO much different. They are over the novelty of getting around on their own so while they still do it, they don't mind sitting and listening to songs and stories. They're starting to mimic and interact with rhymes and games and I just think it would be SO much easier to make them happy now! That being said, it's ALWAYS going to be a different trip with a little one or two than it was without, so some things still apply ...... ;)

Oh...DO NOT get me wrong...it NEVER gets QUICKER...(well like I REALLY know...mine are only two) But it DOES get easier! :lmao:

See I never want to ASSUME twins are identical. I did with yours though:headache: and see I was wrong. But they are gorgeous anyway!

No big deal, I think they're cute regardless! ;) I have a special place in my heart for b/g twins though, after practically raising a set. They are so sweet! :goodvibes

I hardly EVER assume twins are identical...but I did with yours and see what happened? Lesson learned.

But at least yours look like they're related!:lmao:

I have no CLUE had did that...anyone know how to delete them???

I was so confused.... I thought for sure I had responded to your post! :rotfl:

If you click edit on the post you want to delete, and 'go advanced' you should have the option!

BTW, My Avery's middle name is Jade!

I have four kids, including 5yo id. twin boys. DH and I cracked up through so many of your posts. We took our boys at ~13 months, and they did OK then, not great. Took them a couple of nights to get used to the room, etc. But we took them back the next Jan. when they were close to 2yo. so that DH could run the marathon (2006). It was so bad. The boys were scared to death of the characters. Of course the older girls loved the characters. My DH ended up eating a bunch of QS dinners with the boys so that my dad and I could take the girls to all the character dinners we had planned. Oh well. Best laid plans, I guess :headache:

great tr and pics.

Thanks for sharing with us.

I will be down there October 9th. I cannot wait.

Hey Jennifer & Cassie -

First - Jennifer - loved your trip report. Boy did that bring back some memories! And Cassie - I had to laugh at some of your retorts to what people say and ask.

My "babies" are now 18 years old and 1 month, 2 weeks and 6 days from graduating from high school and 121 days until they leave for college (not that I'm counting!). :rotfl2: It seems like yesterday they were learning to walk and teething and crying at the same time (well - they still do that sometimes!). When my girls were born, I was told they were fraternal twins. They really didn't look that much alike though everyone always said - how can you tell them apart? Imagine my surprise when they were 10 and I found out they are identical!!! I still think the test was wrong and am tempted to redo it - but whatever. Anyway, it used to drive me CRAZY when I would be at the mall, or store, or disney, wherever and my girls are in a side-by-side stroller, dressed the same from head to toe and people would say - are they twins? I got so irritated once I told a lady they were actually triplets but I gave one away! I did - truly - put a sign on their stroller that said - thank you for looking but please don't touch the babies. I couldn't believe people would actually reach into their stroller and touch them!

Anyway - it does get easier as they get older. Its about when they are four or five when they ask why people stare at them. I always told them it was because they were so pretty. I've asked them if it bugs them even now if people ask if they are twins and they just kind of shrug and say no - we're used to it. It will be really weird for them come August when they go to college because not only are they going to different colleges - they are going to different states! Not sure I'm ready for that...

Enjoy your babies. Before you know it they will be driving, then dating, then they'll be heading off to college!!! ahhhhhhhhh!

Thanks again for sharing your stories! I am taking my girls on an Adventures By Disney vacation the week after they graduate :yay: so we'll post our trip report somewhere...

Leslie
