Hiya all :wave2:

Sorry it's been a long time coming but I'm gonna crack on with my trip report.

I'm going to mix it up a little though and instead of the usual trip report day by day I'm going to do my TR as a mini series of reviews of the parks, accomodation etc...hope this works and please let me know if you think it sucks :lmao:

So with the car paked up we headed off to Dover to our Nofolkline ferry
ferry1.jpg

After getting settled down for the two hour journey with a few magazines the time flies past.

Check in: 7/10 - A little slow this time despite only having one car in front of us it took over 15 minutes
Ferry: 8/10 - Starting to look a little old now but still great value for money
Cleanliness: 9/10
Value for Money: 10/10 - £45 return...can't argue with that as P&O wanted £116!
Overall: 8/10 - Takes a little longer than the Dover-Calais route however the drive from Bolougne takes around the same amount of time and knocks 4 euros off of the price of the tolls which is a handy saving :thumbsup2

The drive down to DLRP takes a little over 3 1/2 hours. This is the first time that we have had to stop for an extended period of time as we needed to feed Macklyn and the place that we stopped was lovelly. I wish we had made a note of the name of the place so that we could stop there again!

We arrived at Le Chene Gris just after 7:30pm (we stopped off at Disneyland Paris first :thumbsup2)
camp4-1.jpg

and we checked in within about 5 minutes, paid over the 130 euros for the week and after driving past a very busy looking campsite,
camp1.jpg

we finally arrived at what would be our home for the next week

Lounge/dining room

The tent was surprisingly large and very well equipped with a full range of cooking equiptment, 3 burner gas stove, fridge with freezer compartment and enough plates, mugs, glasses and cutlery for the 6 people that the tent sleeps.

Accomodation: 8/10 - Very clean and large enough for a family of four however 6 of you would be uncomfortable in a tent this size.
Campsite: 8/10 - Seems to get better with every visit and is fast becoming our favorate place to stay near Disneyland Paris. Shop is very expensive though so a 5 minute drive to the nearest large supermarket is a must. Swimming pools have improved and are lovely now too!
Value for Money: 9/10 - 130 euros for a whole week really is an absolute bargain...infact it was the exact same price for the four of us to spend one night at the Santa Fe hotel...with our AP discount
Location to DLRP: 8/10 - Only 20 minutes door to door...even better now that we have found the "toll free" route whcih saves us another 4 euros every day that we visited DLRP
Staff: 9/10 - All very friendly (the wife would say that some were far too friendly to her hubbie ;)) and all speak fluent English as well as another language
Clenliness: 9/10 - Tent was spotless when we arrived and the communal facilites were kep lovely throughout our trip.

Overall: 9/10 - A great place for a bargian DLRP holiday...was stunned me was the amount of families on the camp site who were not there for a trip to DLRP!

We lasted until Monday 7th September before we had our first visit to Salon Mickey.
salonmickey-1.jpg

Salon Mickey, for those of you who don't know, is a private lounge at the Disneyland Park for EuroDisney SCA shareholders. There is always a selection of pastries and drinks in there and a relaxing lounge for people to chill out ofr a while away from the hustle and bustle of the park. Capacity is for 30 people and each shareholder can take either 4 family members of 3 guests into Salon Mickey and it is open from 9am to midday.

On this visit we were very pleased to find that they were stocking croissants, pan au chocolat and also Mickey brioche's as well as the usual muffin's and cookies that we had found before. We also noted that Salon Mickey has had a new hot drinks machine installed too, although I think that the Hot Chocolate from this new machine doesn't taste as nice as it used to :rotfl:
salonmickey1.jpg

Atmousephere: 9/10 - Generally very quiet in there and we have been the only family there on many an occasion. If you are a shareholder then you know how nice this place really is.
Drinks Selection: 9/10 - Always fully stocked with bottled orange juice and water and the hot drinks machine provides a great alternative on a cold day.
Pastry Selection: 10/10 - Five different choices every day we visited this time, made much nicer than either a muffin or a cookie.
Clenliness: 10/10 - Prehaps because of the lack of people in here it is always clean...or prehaps us shareholders are so worried that this perk may be pulled that we all clean up after ourselves :thumbsup2
CM's: 9/10 - Allways friendly and more than willing to help us get our double buggy through the doors

Overall: 9/10 - A stunning perk of being a shreholder...I always treat every visit as my last as I keep on thinking that it's only a matter of time before they pull it :rotfl:

**As per my new odd TR I'll review the park in general and then each of the rides/attractions that we visited over the course of the trip :goodvibes**

Walt Disney Studio's

SDC10466-1.jpg

SDC10484-1.jpg

Cars: Only half of the ride working throughout our trip. I asked a CM friend about this and he said that it was to avoid further breakdowns as the ride needed a bit of maintainence to have it fully operational. Otherwise the ride was as excellent as ever...even though it is slightly too short. 9/10

2617222282_b173a80f79.jpg

Flying Carpets over Agrabah: I didn't ride this one however Kacee and Ellie did. They said it was as good as always and I noticed that the Genie was speaking English after everyride, something I have not noticed before hand. One thing that slightly bothers me about this ride is the very boring and claustrophobic queue. 8/10

studiotram.jpg

Studio Tram Tour: Now I'm not a big fan of this one however Ellie really likes it so I gave it another go. I liked the fact that we have finally had some more props added to the ride and it's nice to see the blue fences where Toy Story Playland is going to be however still the highlight is Catastrophy Canyon...shame they can't drop me off after that :lmao: Kacee hates this ride as he is scared of the water and fire effects so this is one that we will only ride as a walk-on. 4/10

towerofterror-1.jpg

Tower of Terror: Still love it. Not as good as a very similar ride at Phantasialand in Germany however the theming is top-notch. I'm hoping to drag Ellie on here in October as I'm sure she would like it :goodvibes. 9/10

animagique.jpg

Animagique: Brilliant as ever despite starting up to 10 minutes later than advertised. This has rapidly become a family favorate and is now a 'Must See' for all of us. Looking forward to when Kacee will sit through Cinemagique now. 9/10

stuntshow-1.jpg

Stunt Show: One word sum's this up for me: stunning. We initially went into the Stunt Show to avoid the rain that had just started and just hoped that Kacee would sit there and watch it...well he was transfixed. He was clapping along with everyone else and really go into it. I'm hoping to see this again in October now that Kacee seem's to be showing his Daddy's love of show. 10/10

Atmosphere: 9/10 - Very busy everyday that we visited. I kinda like it busy as it really adds to the atmosphere everywhere.
Clenliness: 6/10 - We found many overflowing bins, this I think is down to the level's of people in the park. It's the busyest we have seen the Studio's since we have been going!
CM's: 9/10 - A lot of CM's seemed under pressure however we did not encounter any CM's inside the Studio's who were not friendly...right up until past closing time when we left they were all smiling and saying goodbye
Rides: 9/10 - Every ride we went on was working perfectly, no breakdowns that we saw and no other problems at all. Car's was only running at half capacity however this caused no major problems although it lead to Cars having queue's of 30 minutes everyday
Attractions: 10/10 - Stich Live and Playhouse Disney Live seem to get better everytime we see them...Animaquigue was as good as ever, even if it did start 10 minutes later than the advertised time.

Overall: 9/10 - I really think this park is becoming a great park. The addition of Toy Story Playland next year is really exciting both me and Kacee and I'm 90% sure that when this opens it will lead to us spending days in this park rather than afternoon's. I'm really excited about the Studio's future and just hope that the economy doesn't set DLRP back so much that improvements to the park are put on the backburner.

castle-2.jpg

Main Street: Main Street looked lovely while we were there. Always kept clean and the streetmousephere were out in force. It was lovely to see Main Street looking so lovely and to see the band playing every morning. My only problem with Main Street is that I'd love to see it without all the banners advertising the current 'party' and I'd love to see it return to it's classic look but I don't think that's going to happen.

dlrprailroad.jpg

Disneyland Railroad: 4/10 - This is a very low rating and this is nothing to do with the actuall attraction which is as good as ever. It's to do with the stupidity of the Disneyland Paris executives deciding that Main Street Station should be the only open station and that they only need to run one train meaning that unless you are there for opening in the morning then you have a minimum of a 35 minute wait and a possible 70 minute wait if you can't get on the next train. This angered me as we had to keep telling Kacee that the train was broken as he couldn't wait for 35-70 minutes for it. This would have been an 8 if it were not for this.

Frontierland:
frontierland-1-1.jpg

I love this land...it looks a little odd to me without all the Halloween decorations which is very odd considering the amount of times I have been yet I have only been once during Halloween. Unfortunatly we only really do two attractions in this land and it almost seems like it needs a little more added into it.

Phantom Mannor: 10/10 - One of my top three rides at DLRP. I just can't get enough of this ride. One question for those who have been recently...has Madame Leota's hair colour changed?? It looked White to me and I thought it was brown/black before hand :goodvibes This is a family favorate and we often ride it up to 4 times a day.

Woody's Roundup: 8/10 - The best place in the park for organised 'meet n greets'. I love it here (big Toy Story fan) and the fact that Kacee and Macklyn can meet up to 6 characters at a time here makes it great for kiddies too. Needs a little lick of paint here and there now but otherwise great.

Adventureland:
adventureland.jpg

Another lovely land that we spend a great deal of our time in. I love exploring the caves and the Robinson's Tree House. I'm gradually passing that love onto Kacee too :) We honestly spend hours climbing the Tree House and exploring the rest of Adventureland.

Pirates of the Caribbean: 9/10 - Another superb ride and another family favorate. Kacee now sings the Pirates song while playing with his pirate toys at home. A great ride...made better by having a slow ride thorough with the house lights on :thumbsup2

Robinson's Tree House: 8/10 - A great attraction, missed by so many people. Glad that it's finally had it's makeover and that it looks all brand new again.

Pirate Caves: 9/10 - We can get lost in here for hours on end. A fantastic place to escape either the heat or the rain and great fun to let little one's search Davy Jones Locker for the lost treasure.

Aladdin's Enchanted Passage: 5/10 - Sorry but I just find this a bit boring...not really much mroe that I can say about this other than that it's covered and therefore out of the elements :goodvibes

Fantasyland:
fantasyland4.jpg

The land where dreams come true. Not personally my favorate land but definatly the favorate of the boys. I love the fact that so many little hidden corners of Fantasyland are so well themed when they could easily have been left as they were. That for me is what Disney does over and above other parks.

Peter Pan: 9/10 - Turned into a family favorate on this trip with much thanks to the very nice people who left thier "Lifetime Fastpasses" on top of the Buzz fastpass machines :thumbsup2 Really helped us out as it meant that we could hold fastpasses to Buzz and Peter Pan at the same time and really helped us during the busy day's.

Le Pay des Contes des Fayes: 7/10 - Only managed to ride this once due to the odd opening and closing times and generally not fitting into where we wanted to be. Good as usual although I think some scenes could do with a bit of a touch up and some could be swapped out for more up-to-date scenes.

Casey Junior: 9/10 - Oddly enough we rode this twice but LPDCDF only once :confused3 however we loved it as usual. Macklyn even stayed awake for this one so it must have been good.

It's a Small World: 10/10 - An obvous must-do for all families with young children. Kacee's favorate and certainly the one that Macklyn loved the most too. All animatronics fully working on every ride and seeing one of our CM friends here nearly everyday was awesome.

Mad Hatters Tea Cup's: 8/10 - A must do for me due to family connections to the ride. Kacee likes this one...he spins it so fast that it makes me feel sick but he loves doing it!

Snow White: 7/10 - Was a walk-on, I wouldn't have done it otherwise. Not a favorate of anyone's to be honest and one that I'd happily swap for an updated ride

Pinnochio: 7/10 - Same as Snow White for me. Infact I'd love to loose both of them for something like "Winnie the Pooh".

Discoverland:
discoveryland-1.jpg

This appears to be the land that we spend the least time in...this is only because there are not may attractions for the boys at the moment, as soon as they are old enough I can see us having trouble leaving Discoveryland. We really enjoy the Hyperion Cafe for our picnic place, Kacee loves the Cinema Mickey cartoons so it keeps him quiet!

Buzz Lightyears Laser Blasters: 9/10 - Kacee's favorate ride in this land and one of the big four that we have to do everyday (Buzz, Pirates, HM and IASW) Still looks good, as it should only being a few years old and lvoely to see the Animatronic Buzz working everyday of our trip.

Atmosphere: 9/10 - Very busy on some days with lots of spanish speaking visitors and lots of Irish visitors too. We had no problems whatsoever with anyone on this trip...a few pushers at the character's but that's to be expected.
Clenliness: 8/10 - Busy and because of that I think the CM's have difficulty keeping up. The Hyperion got disgusting over lunch times...seriously people does it hurt to empty a tray into a bin :confused3
CM's: 10/10 - Nice to see a lot of friends on the trip including an awesome guy from Newcastle who said 'Congratulations' to us on the birth of Macklyn...then moaned at us for Ellie riding POTC while pregnant :rotfl: We had some great interactions and I relaly will make notes of names in October so that we can pop by City Hall.
Rides: 9/10 - Dodgy opening times for some but hey...that's life. Other than that very happy with the way things are looking and I loved seeing the amount of maintanence that was going on during our trip.
Attractions: 8/10 - Some looking a little dodgy now and a little worn...maybe the maintainence on these have suffered so that the rides don't.

Overall: 10/10 - A great trip, a lovely time and I can't wait to go back in October...only 6 days to go!

Great TR, really like how you have done it.

The camping photos brings back memories I used to do this as a child in France. Always had so much fun and there always the holidays I remember the most.

Glad you had a good time.

Great report :)

Gosh there is still so much I/we have not seen yet after three trips, but I guess that's a good thing too !
