Great trip report! I'm really enjoying your writing as you share about the fun you had with your friends. It sounds like so much fun to go with friends, all of my trips have been with family--which is fine--but different than going with friends!
Those pics of the Poly are so, so sad! I know it will be all better for next summer when we're headed there, but it still makes me a little worried! I have read a bunch of reviews from people who stayed there this summer & fall who said that it was still magical, but I'm sure others had to be disappointed by it.
Yay Ohana! I keep thinking that maybe we won't go to to Ohana next year (because we won't be on the dining plan and that will be an expensive meal for my family of 5), but then I see great reviews like yours and I add it back on my must-do list for next year. Yum, yum, yum, I can't wait!
I'm looking forward to hearing more, thanks for a great trip report so far!

Going with friends is fun but I honestly think family trips are more magical. I have such amazing memories of trips with my parents and brother and I can't wait until DH and I can take our first trip with a child.
I'm sure the Poly is going to be amazing when it's done. That's wonderful that you are staying next summer. I am so jealous! (My DH would be too!

I had read a bunch of negative reviews of Ohana before our trip and at first they made me sad and took away some of my excitement for going. Then I decided not to let it bother me because DH and I loved it so much our first time. I agree with the naysayers who didn't like the lettuce wraps but other than that everything was just as great as last time. And I'm pretty sure the lettuce wraps are already off the menu and they're back to serving a salad again. I totally get what you're saying about it being an expensive meal for a family of 5 to pay OOP. You have some time to think about it (or save for it!
