They did it tonight, I got the phone call about 10 minutes ago that she passed.

Well tomorrow it should all be over. Today Arline was paralyzed from the neck down. They will give her a sedative and remove the breathing tube, she won't be able to breathe on her at this point. The neuro surgeon who saw her and reviewed the tests had no idea how she even woke up last week. Dr. J thinks that she was given this extra week as a gift to be able to make peace with her daughter, understand that she was loved and now she is ready to move on.

Hopefully our lives will get back to as normal as they can be. We have to finish cleaning out her apartment from what they left there, we'll finish packing it up and donate it to get the write off. The apartment should be back on the market by the end of the week.

I am sorry you have been though so much the past couple of weeks. It sounds like Arline held on long enough to say her goodbyes. You have been in my prayers lately even when I am not aware of what is going on. Hopefully, you can find some solice and relaxtion.

Thanks everyone. It's really sad that she's gone, but the decisions that she made were her own. I can live with that. She just could not have been in her right mind. The Doctor thinks she may have had some mild strokes prior to moving out of our house which caused her to exhibit such poor judgement like walking up and down the stairs with no railings. We have to believe that otherwise we have to think she was just stupid and don't want to think that.

It is just a sad day here. I am going to go take a bath and try to feel better.

Take your bath, relax and grieve for Arline. She sounded like a gentle soul in your TRs (despite the oddball moments she caused you) and I'm sure you and Fran will miss her terribly.

Just remember - you and Fran made her life so much more comfortable over the last 2 years that I know of and went beyond the call of friendship.


We are here for you, should you need shoulders to cry on.

Strange, isn't it? We never met her but it feels like we know her from reading Alison's TR/PTR posts.
