So, now that Disney has purchased the old strawberry field next to the Holiday Inn on Harbor. does anyone know what park or year they will start construction.

On the last trip, a city employee told me that Disney puchased the land for just over $20 million, the owner finally gave in, and that they are now processing the paperwork for permits and stuff for a new park. Thats all they could tell me.

Anyone have anymore info?

I heard it could be a water park. But I think that is still a rumor.

There are no set plans as of yet, it could be a water park, I have even heard about it being "in doors" so it could be open year round. I have heard that they are going to make a park "based around water" so not really a water park like we know it but a park that the rides are centered around water. I have heard they are going to take the best of WDW and other parks and make the in one park here. As you can tell there is nothing concrete and I don't expect anything to be set for a very long time. They still have DCA to work with and make "successful."

Disnee Dad Says.......................................The park itself is still in question, they seem to be looking at dozens of ideas, after all once they decide they can't go back, so they proceed cautiously.
I'm from Nor Cal, so you need a So Cal person to fill you in with details, but the owner did not sell. He refused to sell and there was nothing Disney could do. They waited years for that property, and couldn't get it at any price. Finally the owner died, and whoever got the property sold it, I think it was his children.
