Now I really feel cheap! If they do come to the room & put it away, I'll tip them again, but if it get's left with bell services I think my $8 will just have to do! :goodvibes

Beer & vodka!! A woman after my own heart! :goodvibes

No way! Don't feel that way! I feel like I am giving too much now...:)

Yup, gotta have the beer and vodka...I would like wine but Tommy Boy doesn't care for it too much so I'll have to get my fill at F&W! :thumbsup2

If you get a minute can you tell me how tall the souvie glass is from PFTS last year? I think we are going to do the PVC tube thing. That way I can pack a couple bottles there and have it for the glasses on the way home. And I can re-use it to pack a couple at Christmas too. Don't know why I never thought of that before. Rick comes in pretty handy every now and then.:rolleyes1

Lori, The glass is 9 1/2 inches tall. What I was wondering about is the diameter though it's 11 1/4 at the widest part. Where are you going to get the pvc pipe that size? I might do that too. Even though we're driving, I'm going to be really loaded down with equipment for DH, so protecting our glasses would be a good idea.

With all of the stuff we need to make traveling easier, it was his idea to place the GG order to save me some packing & hauling. He was sweet to think of that.

On the GG order, do you (and Lauren) call or email them with the liquor add ons? And how did you pay for the liqour?

I haven't gotten liquor from GG. I always pack ours. That way I know I have room for souvies coming home. And I like the wine at the resort store. Like $13 for Yellowtail. More than the store, but hey, that's still not a bad price.

And 11 1/4 translates to 3.5", so I'm going for a 4" by prolly 24" to have room for bottles and glass padding. I have a 25" & 29" roller bag so it should fit right down the side of either.

:lmao: Room for the souvies, cus the liquor is all gone! You crack me up!

I emailed GG about the liquor, no reply yet. Guess what kind of wine I asked for! Yep, yellowtail! Something I know they can find, inexpensive & always good.

Where are you going to get the tube from?

Oh for dinner tonight, I'm thinking ground turkey into either spaghetti or chili.

Prolly Mary's Hardware unless I can get out to Lowe's or Home Depot. Just go to the plumbing dept and tell them 4" thin wall (less expensive) in whatever length you need. They should have a per foot price. Or ask them if they have any 4" scrap close to the length you need. They may just give it to you.

Sheryl, I just add add the liquor to the comments section and then about a week prior to leaving, I call them to confirm the order and the add ons. They just add those purchases to the credit card.

Lori...what Sheryl said!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Lori, Bob might have some the right size at work. If he does I'll get him to bring a piece home to try it out & let you know for sure.

Lauren, I wish I'd have just put it in the comments then. I sent an email. Do they send you an email confirming your liquor order?

Well just because I posted dinner & then asked DH, I have a menu change. He wants to try burgers with the turkey, so I think it will be Lindsay's Boo Burgers for dinner!

Lorie, Bob said that a two foot piece of pvc 1/4 inch thick wall (the thinnest) is going to weigh about 4 or 5 lbs, so be sure you can handle the extra weight in the luggage. It might push the airline's weight limit?

Honestly, I cannot remember what happened last time when I ordered...but whenever I have sent an email, it took about a day to hear back. I have not gotten a beer/vodka conf. for yesterdays order.

I think I am missing a party! When I pack for Disney I only pack my undies in the suitcase..... and maybe some emergency chocolate. Now I see that I am really missing out on some packing details :lmao:

Got it covered. I've got packing for Disney down to an art. And if all else fails I pack a collapsible bag I can whip out and check to divy up the weight. This ain't my first time to the rodeo!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: You wanna come do my packing? ;) Believe me, a few days before a trip, my house looks like a hurricane came through! Art it Ain't!!!!

Change of dinner plans again! DH called and said his stomach is a little tetchy, so instead of indian food I am making ravioli with tomato sauce, garlic bread (light on the garlic), and a salad. Nice comfort food.

I ended up making spaghetti when I got home. I thankfully had all the ingredients in the pantry to throw it together.

I rearranged my office and cleaned for 7 hours today. I am SO tired now! I threw out 5 lawn bags full of trash, 4 boxes of books to donate, and a slew of other stuff to put in other places. I can't believe so much junk was in that office!

What prompted me was that I am determined to have room for a table and chairs in there for meetings and that took throwing out tons of stuff. But - before I left, I moved a bookcase across the room and stole the table/chair set from the office next to me (currently not being used) and it looks fantastic! I will only have to do a few more things on Monday.

I am cracking up on this whole how to pack the booze thread...:lmao: ..can you get away with packing pvc in a suitcase, since that is what is used in pipe bombs??:confused3 My suitcase got searched last year because of the mini m&m tubes I had full of quarters, lol!!....I knew it had to be that as the only thing in my suitcase was t-shirts and socks and the quarters were all dumped out and the nice little note from the FAA was placed on top, :rotfl: !

Nancy--how is your knee doing today?

Glynis--Kris had a midnight snack of english muffins and your jelly last night!

Lindsey--your shadow boxes look terrific!!! Thanks for sharing them!

Stephanie- I hope you all are feeling better, but better to be sick now then when you get to WDW!!

I know I missed a bunch of stuff today, I am sorry.

I will find out in tomorrow at some point what time I need to be at the hospital Monday for my surgery. It is a 30 min drive so I will have to add that on to the time as well. I will get packed tomorrow for our weekend away and get Ross packed to go to the inlaws. I also have a bunch of things to get done to be ready to be laid up for the next month+, ugh!! I am not one to sit still so this should drive me insane!!! I will have to learn how to type with one hand!!

Dinner tonight was a favorite from Kris' childhood.......it is nothing special at all but he loves it and Ross does too. It is such a typical "I am a child born in the 70's" food I swear!!
It is hamb cooked up and cans of beef vegetable alphabet soup dumped in. I am almost ashamed to put it, lol.:rolleyes1 We had it with a yummy pan bianca bread and salad. (I ate bread and salad, with a taste of the slop, lol)

Hope you all had a great day!!!

Well, there's no specific rule against PVC, so I'm hoping. I figure they're sealed bottles (which are ok) and I'll have open ends so they can look at them- I'm going to use a Sharpie to label "Fragile- Glass" and I can sticker "wine" or "glasses" on there so they Know.

We're at the airport waiting to head to DL! Why else would I be the first one to be here in the morning?!?

ETA: Gretchen, you were in my thoughts this morning. Diet Coke was my absolute first stop after security. Hope you're holding up girl!

Tonight I am making breakfast for dinner. I am making scrambles with turkey sausage and Glynis's blueberry muffins, with a twist. You suggested this awhile back and I'm going to try it. I'm going to use frozen blueberries and lemon pie filling. I will let you know how they turn out.

WFD at your house?

ETA: Hey Glynis, I have a muffin question for you. I have been using salted butter in the muffins. I think all I have today is unsalted. Is that ok to use?

We are taking our last camping trip of the season tonight..... should be gorgeous foliage at the camp ground! I will take some pre made hamburgers (fresh not frozen!) so we can have a quick easy dinner. I'm taking my crockpot so I can make a cranberry roast pork tomorrow with roasted potatoes and green beans. We don't exactly "rough it". :thumbsup2
