Kathy--You get your Nola butt up here anytime, and I will be more then happy to share our Maine chill with ya.............you come this time of the year and you get to apple pick, have lobsters, and then go to a high school football game on a crisp fall day!!!

:drive: I'm on my way sista!

Kathy Come on up! We will go apple pickin and eat apple cider donuts. Now is the time for one of my fav varieties of apples Honey crisp

Lauren Riley is so cute. My friend has one of those dogs, she was told by the groomer that her dog needs obedience classses. :rotfl2:

Wendie Glad Ross is having such a good time with football :thumbsup2

Today I am making crockpot chicken noodle soup. I am going to to do Asian twist on it by adding a small nub of fresh ginger and serving it with eggrolls :)

WFD at your house?

Good Morning!

Lauren- you new baby is so sweet! I agree that he will be sweeter once you get a full nights sleep ;)

Kathy- Apple picking, a ride to Yankee Candle checking out the beautiful Fall Foliage Show, Macoun apples and apple cider and donuts! Come on up!

We are going to get warm again, but the nights are going to stay cool I think :thumbsup2.

You know that it is fall around here because Buddy wants to split more wood at his cousins house and he has his side kick Dan around to help. Then we get pizza from our favorite pizza joint :thumbsup2 Life does not get any better than that

Last night we had leftover pork and gravy, sweet potatoes and stuffing. Pumpkin donuts for dessert.

Tonight I am cooking a New England boiled dinner: a smoked shoulder, red potatoes, carrots, rutabaga, cabbage with rye bread and apple sauce.

I plan on making a chocolate zucchini cake if I can pull myself away from the mountain of ironing I have to do :scared:

Thanks! Your dinner sounds so yummy!

Tom and Andrew are home sick today. Hooray for me!!! ;)

I am going to make a baked pork chop recipe that I have with apples, onions in a beer sauce. It's yummy and easy. I think someone made something like it last week. I'll serve it with a tossed salad.

Have a great day!

Morning all!!

I have a dentist appt right in the middle of my day, so I will have 2 P.E.T. meetings at school, then go to the appt, then back to school for a life skills project, then home, then football, then an open house with Ross teacher as she was sick the night of the "real" one...aaaarrrrggghhhhh....oh well such is life better then sitting around collecting dust!!

It is a balmy 35 degrees here this morning but should get up into the high 60's by afternoon....they say later this week it should hit the 80's during the day.....Maine gotta love it!

Nancy--I love love love a NE boiled dinner.....I do mine with corned beef, I also add onions, and then right at the end a can of whole beets.....this is so that I can make red flannel hash with the leftovers.....mmmmmm now that is good eats!!!

Lauren---How did the furbaby sleep last night? How are the "boys" colds doing?

Dinner tonight is going to be chicken cordon bleu casserole sometime in between everything else. I think I will make it this afternoon before football and then we can just reheat it as we get in.

Good morning everyone!

Lauren, Riley is absolutely precious! You can just see the mischief in his little face. ;)

Wendie - I don't think you have to ever worry about gathering dust. Sometimes your schedule makes me tired just reading about it.

Nancy - Chocolate zucchini cake?!? Really?

Tonight's dinner is simple and easy - pot roast in the crock pot, rice, gravy, and butter beans. I'm thinking of trying to make a dessert, but I want to find one I won't like so it won't be so tempting. :sad2:

My sister and her family are in WDW this week and I called her this morning to see how things are going. They arrived yesterday and spent the afternoon in Downtown Disney shopping and had dinner at Wolfgang Puck's. I have been there twice and loved it once and didn't love it the other time. Last night, DSis said they didn't love it either. She said the appys were good, but the main course wasn't so great (she got fish and I don't remember what DBil ordered). She said the dessert was so-so and the service was HORRIBLE. They had to order all three courses when they placed their order and the server brought their desserts before they had received their main course. Then the server overcharged them for their drinks. Don't know if it is the "free dining curse" or not, just figured I would share.

You guys are seriously making me consider a road trip up the northeast coast next year for vacation. I've always wanted to see the foliage (we don't even have seasons much less foliage down here). We've never been up to your beautiful part of the country.:woohoo:

Lauren - I hope your guys get well soon!

Nancy - That NE boiled dinner sounds awesome.:cool1:

Gretchen - I am growing more wary of our ADR at Wolfgang Pucks, hopefully it's the free dining curse.:rolleyes1

It's red beans & rice Monday, hoping to pick up Kyle's pics later today and will TRY and scan them and post so y'all can see my "baby boy"!!

Have a great Monday all!!

Morning Y'all,

Nice less humid weather down here this weekend! Only grazing 90 today! ;) Feels a bit better to me though!

I haven't read through the whole weekend but:

Lauren, Love your new puppy! Too cute! Hope your boys feel better soon.

Becky, That was the best football food ever!!

Gretchen, Thanks for the heads up on Wolfgang Puck's! I'm trying to decide on one more meal for our Feb. Daytona trip with my Mom along. I'm going back & forth between WP's & going offsite to Texas de Brazil. I'll have to go hunt for more WP reviews.

I grilled steaks last night. We shared a steak, had roasted brussel sprouts & a salad trying to watch the calories! I don't think the bottle of wine we enjoyed with dinner, out on the patio with the cooler weather was very calorie conscious! ;)

Dinner tonight will be leftover steak turned into fajitas with wheat tortillas & lots of veggies!

Hey their eating Muffaletta's on the Today show right now! :goodvibes

Have a good day Y'all

It's been awhile since I last posted on this thread but I need some input.

I want pepper steak for dinner but I only have strew meat. Has anyone done this or should I just go to the store and buy the beef strips?

Hi Southern4sure!!! I think if you cooked your stew meat in your gravy for quite a while before adding your peppers, it would work out fine! Good luck with it. :goodvibes

That is how I would do it. Sounds good, Southern4sure! I haven't had pepper steak in a long time!

Can you post the recipe for the casserole? Sounds yummy!

Good morning, all. I'm not sure what we'll have for dinner. Today is my birthday, and we wanted to go out to celebrate like usual, but due to some budget constraints (AND the quarterly tax payment I had to mail off) we have to put it off a week or two. I had hoped DH would cook something for me tonight using what we have in the kitchen but when I didn't see anything thawing on the counter after he left, I figured I'd thaw some chicken and come up with something to fix tonight. Just not having to come home and cook something would be a great birthday gift...

Maybe he'll surprise me?

If not, I may slather on some Sweet Baby Rays and throw the chicken on the grill.

Morning ya'll! What a weekend- ya'll were busy on here! I sent my DH to Lauren's neck of the woods for this week. Lauren how far are you from Princeton, NJ? If you're close enough can you drop off any extra pork chops at the Holiday Inn there?:rotfl2:

Not sure what's for dinner yet for Wanna B and I- A&P had a bomb threat this AM and has not reopened yet....makes for a wrinkle in my schedule. Who calls a bomb threat into a corner grocery store?!?:confused3 :lmao:
