Lindsay Looks wonderful! Glad it turns out so well. Enjoy the leftovers

Tonight I'm making salmon all that talk last week made think we should eat fish more often. Low in calories and easy.

My dh's Grandmother is in the hospital and not doing very well- I finally made a meal last night (albeit super easy- chili). Tonight we are having homemade pizza. Same old same old- tomato sauce and cheese for dh and the kids and ricotta with spinach for me. I have never made it before- but I'm going to experiment. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Lindsay- your mexican lasagna looks DELISH!!

Here are photos from last night's dinner. Big ole mess of clams in a half bottle of wine, ready to be steamed for pasta:

Bread basket, since I always forget to photo the bread:

The final product, linguine with clams:

Today we are having grilled cumin-crusted cornish hens with mango salsa. mom's famous eggplant sticks, green beans, and the curried roasted sweet potatoes I've posted here.

Lindsay, I am glad your party food was yummy! What is the orange drink in the pitcher? Is that your nonalchoholic margarita recipe?

Ok here is the recipe

Tex-mex meatball pie
Thanks, looks very easy!!

My dh's Grandmother is in the hospital and not doing very well-

I am so sorry to hear this. Please know that your DH's GM as well as your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
And, don't worry about cooking meals, as long as there is food, your family will be fine and you can put your energy where you need it to be

Lindsay- Your meal looks so good! I knew it would turn out well you had a good idea, great ingredients and an amazing cook to pull it all together :thumbsup2

Becky- You never let us down!

Kathy- You are up and moving early.

Hi All! I am lost as usual but hope everyone is well.

Mermaid, prayers for your Grandmother...

Janice, that recipe sounds yummy...:goodvibes

Well, Andrew and Tom have colds and I am tired since Riley had me up alot of the night (I guess he was rebelling since we were gone alot yesterday) so we are having Chinese again. Can you tell we love Chinese???

It's getting chilly here...I can't get the chill out of me and we have the fire roaring...:confused3

Have a great day all!

Hello everyone--

Lindsey--WOW, what a spread it turned out to be!!! It all looks sooooo good!!!
I love your curtains too!! I am sure it was a great time!!!

Mermaid--prayers for all of you....don't worry about getting "real" meals on the table....as long as no one is starving then that is all that matters. Make sure you find some time to take a deep breath!!

Lauren--I hope that Tom and A are feeling better soon....these fall colds are running rampent this year!

Thanks for the well wishes on feeling better, it is awfully nice of you all, but most of my pain was self inflicted, lol. My head did do much better once the rain cleared up.

Ross had his first football game of the season today and they kicked butt...26-0......the game before ours had a late start so we ran much later then planned.....we had a late lunch early supper (or as we call it lupper) of hot dogs, fries, and ice cream.........that has earned me more time on the treadmill, lol. Kris and Ross have gone to take out a few customers docks and I will do some housework.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.

Go Ross!!:cheer2:

I've finally caught up, boy have ya'll been busy. I spent all day yesterday and most of today catching up on the accounting for DH's business. He swears next time he won't wait so long to bring me the information, but that is what he said last time. In retrobution, I made stuffed cabbage for dinner. ;) That'll teach him.

Change of dinner plans, I forgot some ingredients for the fish so that recipe will be delayed until tomorrow. We are having chicken screwers with thai peanut sauce, rice and sauted snap beans.

Looks like this coming week here we will see a return of summer temps :dance3:. I don't feel like fall yet.

Lauren- you need to get some rest. If the boys are sick you are going to catch it too if you get run down. I hope they feel better after a good nights sleep. It is cold there? We may have a frost this evening and it was chilly during the day today so I know that it is almost fire time here. Candles on the hearth just are not the same.

A gal after my own heart. I cook chicken pot pie when I am a little miffed at Buddy :thumbsup2

Would one of you PLEASE blow some of that cool air down here? We're still going to be near 90 all week. We had a break from the humidity yesterday & today, but it's on its way back.:sad2:  I think I may just need to move in with one of y'all!!
