I hate to ask this, but if any of you have any prayers to spare, I sure could use them. I can't talk about the reason, just yet, but I'd be grateful for your good thoughts.

Thanks.

Ask away and you never need to apologize to us. My prayers offered for whatever you special request is, and lots of good thoughts for you because you are you :grouphug:.

I have not idea what I am cooking tonight. DH has guys hoeing today so the girls just dropped off sandwiches and juice for them for breakfast. I think I am just ordering from the dollar menu at Micky D's for lunch.

The girls are running their errands and I will head out after I feed them so dinner will be whatever meat looks good for the grill along with a big salad. Dessert if I feel like it.

Good morning all!

Glynis - Prayers and good thoughts coming your way!

Lauren - We want more pics!!!!!!!! I'd like to see a close up of your dress - you looked stunning!:bride:

"Miss" Sheryl - The kitchen must be almost done, WE'LL be so sad to see Marrrrrio leave!:rotfl:

WFD tonight - Gretchen's Basil Scallops, Laura's Baked Eggplant sticks(love, love them) and for dessert - I know it's the heat of the summer but Kyle has been begging for the Warm Winter Lemon Cake.

Glynis, I hope everything is OK!??

Welcome back Lauren!

We ended up buying tuna instead of salmon yesterday. We had sesame crusted seared tuna on asian noodles in a soy-ginger broth with steamed sugar snap peas. Here is the tuna:

and the plated dish:

I'll be back later with today's menu. It's a family linner today and we are having a conflict of menus--some people want salmon and some want cornish hens. Who will win iron chef battle menu? Stay tuned!!

:rotfl: The tuna pics were amazing!!!!

Quick check in as I am trying to get the last minute things done for the party. Just wanted to tell Lauren - Welcome Back! I don't have time to check out your wedding thread, but I'm dying to. I'm sure I'll have time tomorrow.

Glynis - Prayers said for you.

Lori - Congrats on Rick's job and the insurance. And I agree with you and Laura about the gay men. One of my very best friends in college was gay (not everyone knew). I "covered" for him at events where he needed a date and he was my date for functions where I knew I needed an escort who had some social grace. We had the best times shopping and "sight-seeing" ;) together. All of the fun, none of the fuss. And he was always wonderfully honest about my hair, outfits, etc.

Kathy - hope you all like the scallops.

Sheryl - Mario, I mean the kitchen looks wonderful. Really love the new tile. Good choice.

I hope I haven't left anyone out, but I need to run. Have a great Saturday!

Gretchen

Becky that tuna looks so good! I have some nice Ahi tuna in the freezer so I am looking for ways not to screw it up.

Change in dinner plans tonight! My oldest DS is taking us to the Outback because we helped him move. My youngest is not working tonight so we'll all get to go. Now to break it to DH that he is going to have to "cross RT 75 for dinner :rotfl:and that he cannot :happytv: when he gets home.

I bet he will be raring to go because Donny makes him crazy when we go out. He shows up with his ATM card and $10 s:confused3 so Bud is always complaining that Donny "costs him money" and he raised him to pay for the women and for his mother and for guests and for....you get the picture :lmao:

Well, Laura and I won the menu battle. We are making grilled salmon with corn cream sauce, potatoes anna, broccoli, and Mom is making her famous eggplant sticks. Allez cuisine!

No cooking for me as we're heading out of town for the day. Don't know what we'll end up eating, but it should be an adventure.

I hate to ask this, but if any of you have any prayers to spare, I sure could use them. I can't talk about the reason, just yet, but I'd be grateful for your good thoughts.

Thanks.

Prayers and Pixie Dust surround you. :grouphug: We are all here, and I hope all turns out well.....

Glynis  Prayers said

liamsaunt you always come up with the most interesting sounding meals always looks great too. Are you trying out for the new food network star ;)

Well my dinner plans for tonight are pushed back to tomorrow night since I spent all day cleaning my ceramic floors:faint: I'm getting too old for this! We're getting pizza. I did make the lemon cake for dessert.;)

Glynis, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Lauren, beautiful pictures! Everything looked absolutely perfect! I wish you and your family all the happiness in the world.

WFD tonight. Spaghetti (I put salsa in the sauce for added zip) & garlic bread. We didn't feel like a side salad. We did feel like a white cake with strawberry frosting. :)

ETA- I thought I'd pass along a tip I read on the Budget Board (I think that's where I saw it). I've started putting my brillo pads in the freezer. Yep, the freezer! It keeps them from rusting. Just took one out used it and popped it back in a ziplock baggie & back to the fridge. :) It was a little different feeling, but it did the job and no rust. Yea!

Dinner was really good. Here is a photo of the salmon with corn cream sauce we made:

It was good but I liked it less than everybody else. I thought after all that work, it tasted too much like canned cream corn.

Here is a cute photo of Laura and Caili I took today:

Laura and the kids are staying over tonight. Tomorrow we are having swordfish and scallops...

Laura says hi everybody!! :)

Glynis, my thoughts and prayers are with you...

Thank you all for your kind words re: my wedding...I will let you guys know when I post more....:)

I made a quick meal of Omaha steak for my husband...gotta get used to saying that!!!, stuffed sole for me and sides of corn on the cob and aut gratin potatoes...I also bought sorbet for dessert...which is a treat since we never have dessert...you guys know I am not a great baker. Don't feel sorry for us we always find something sweet to eat...and there are some left overs from the buffet!!! ;)

Today I am making chicken provencal soup, and I found a garlic ciabatta bread I'm going to serve with it. I have never had that bread before, but I see it on Food Network shows all the time and it looks so good!

WFD at your house?

ETA: I looooooooooooooooooooooooooved P.F. Chang's!:love::love::love:

Tonight I'm grilling something. Sounds yummy doesn't it? I have to remember to get the tank filled. I have 2 tanks and no gas :confused3 I think I need a husband to blame it on ;)

I am going to make a big pot of homemade sauce with meatballs and sausage...DH's request. He likes the jarred kind but says mine is the best! We will have that with spaghetti, breadsticks and salad. Yum!

Have a great day all!

Glynis, Still praying for you...
