I use the Grill Mates grill seasoning, Montreal Steak variety :)

Also, just FYI, the nutty chicken isn't really an Asian dish, I just find that teriyaki noodles go well with it. Just letting you know! :)

Thanks and I figured it wasn't asian, but after I decided on the rice, I figured, what the heck. I had the egg rolls in the fridge and I don't think DH will notice or care that the chicken dish didn't really go with the egg rolls. This is the man who will ask that I make mac and cheese to go with chicken pilau. :sad2: But thanks for the heads-up.

Laura - Congrats to both Caili & Liam!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Aimeedyan - Love the food porn!:thumbsup2

WFD - White beans & rice, green onion sausage & broiled creole tomatoes!

Here is the Inside Out German Chocolate Cake I made for Father's Day - the bite I had was delicious but I couldn't eat anymore than that and was so bummed! Everyone else seemed to love it.

Boy are we glad you've figured out the pics thing! :thumbsup2 That all looks so fabulous! Yes, especially the cake!

Hi Southern4sure! Red beans & rice! Well you must be somewhere close to us New Orleans ladies! We have quite a few of us red beans & rice Mondays on this thread! Me, Tigerkat, BeadPirate, Lori1043 are all from the metro Nola area.

No cooking for me here today. Mario has started the work today! He starting on the backsplash!!!

So tonight will be leftovers in the freezer, either white beans or ropa vieja.

Have a good y'all!

I thought you were going to say Mario cooks too :lmao: as well as remodels

Aimeedyan- OMG your food looks so good, but I have got to tell you that the German chocolate cake has my mouth watering and it is only 7 AM! Did you boil the milk or bake it? I wondered how you decided to doo that step.

We did boil it in the can! I was so nervous but intrigued on how it would work so I gave it a shot. Came out perfect!

Hmm, I'm not sure I posted it before. The actual recipe is quite complicated and I was lazy so I did it "my" way last night and it tasted just teh same, lol!

I mixed dijon mustard and honey together, threw the chicken on the grill, and basted it with the sauce. In the meantime, I sauteed some fresh sliced mushrooms in butter and heated up pieces of that already cooked microwave bacon (Best.Invention.EVER). When the chicken was done, I stacked a few pieces of bacon on each breast (giggle), then piled up mushrooms, then cheese (I used a mix of cheddar and monterey because it's what I had on hand). I zapped it in the microwave for about 15 seconds to melt the cheese down.

I am happy to post the original recipe tonight when I get home - it's on my other laptop. It involves marinating (not a bad idea), pan frying the chicken until brown, and baking it all together until the chicken is done. I didn't want to heat the oven or dirty a pan so I did the grill instead.

I'll post it tonight =)

Today I am making crockpot chicken noodle soup. Comfort food!!

WFD at your house?

ETA: Giada De Laurentis made a delicious looking Limoncello cheesecake sometime back and I have been wanting to make them. So I went and picked up a bottle of limoncello. Oh. My. Word. That stuff is so freakin' delicious!! Where have I been all this time that I have never tried it before?!?!

I hope there will be enough left over to make these cheesecake, hee hee!

Lindsay I'm so glad you discovered limoncello. I've been using it in lots of different drink & food recipes. Limoncello cheesecake sounds awesome! The cosmo I posted is great & try a limoncello cream 2/3 limoncello 1/3 cream or non fat half & half is yummy too!

Thanks, everyone for the congratulations for Liam and Caili.

Take a well deserved break!

Things never slow down too much here. I did have an extra glass of wine last night though. :thumbsup2

Dinner tonight is brie, bread and a big salad. It's too hot to cook.

Hi there and welcome! I'm betting you live pretty close to the NOLA gals on this thread.

Well, to be fair he has gotten some of us girls all warmed up!:lmao:

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I did not cook yesterday. DH wanted hot dogs around 3 PM and so he was not interested in dinner. No one else wanted to have a big meal so DD picked up the Sunday special subs from BIG Y. They were pretty good, and left room for chocolate torte that DS picked out and strawberry shortcake with strawberries that Kady picked with her Mom and DDIL.

Tonight Kady is having dinner with a friend and DH has an appointment so he won't be home for dinner so DD and I decided to have something out of the fridge. I'm glad because I just finished lunch I was out in the yard all day.

Hello, my friends!!! It's good to be back. I caught up on all that was posted while I was gone, and saw that we have some new posters. Welcome!!! This is a fabulous thread! I hope to see some recipes from all of you!

All the new pictures (of food and friends, too) are wonderful! I agree that "liamandcaili" and "liamsaunt" look like twins. You also look so YOUNG!!!!! What beautiful women we have on this thread!

Dinner tonight will be an easy Chow Mein Casserole. Should be a nice one dish meal! Dessert is ice cream sandwiches!
