You are such a great cook and your recipes and pictures always look super-just wondering...do you watch "Hell's Kitchen"? I'm just figuring that you would like that show!
Anyone else watch it??? I like it but could never work under that pressure!!!

Well, tonight is pizza night for us!

I love Hell's Kitchen! Gordon Ramsey makes Simon Cowell look like a pussycat!:cool1:

Here I am! I was cleaning today and just peeked in once or twice. Kathy I don't know how a house can get so dirty so fast, but I still have my room and the computer room left. I quit though.

And I am not cooking!

I know the feeling. I have a small beagle and I have to sweep every day just to get all the hair up off the floors. Good for you - don't cook. If I could send you some of my fried green tomatoes you know I would.:goodvibes

TigerKat: Ever since that movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" I always wondered what they were, how you make them, how they taste, etc. etc. Send them up to CT so I can try them!!!:)

Kathy I think my dogs have shipments of hair sent to my house while I'm at work. You would think they were bald if you saw the hair I swifter vac everyday.

I've been kept busy at work. Alex is busy touring the every beach we have in the state.

We are having spaghetti and meatballs. Last night I had a chopped salad. I found a weight watcher version that I'll be making. I have to get down to business a drop at least 10lbs.

I'm trying to finish Harry Potter 6 again before the 7th comes out next week.:wizard: :lmao:

Beck actually has the book reading on her calendar, and there is no disturbing her. Good thing she reads fast. I figure by the time I leave Sunday, I'll have a copy. We're seeing the Order of the Phoenix tomorrow (Beck, BIL and me...kiddies are staying with my parents.)

I'm sorry I haven't posted about WFD and the requested recipes yet but I'm sick.

I hope you feel better soon!

We are going to the Movie Tavern tonight to see Harry Potter so we'll eat dinner there! I'm leaning towards a Monte Cristo and a beer =)

Sounds like a great night.

Gordon Ramsey has nothing on Beck when she is in a bad mood. She threatens to bite me.

You deserve the night off...especially after all that ironing yesterday. You did more ironing in one day than I do in an entire year.

Here is a picture of tonight's cheese dinner. This was what the kids like to call a "Help Yourself Dinner." They really like being able to put whatever they want on their plates, but tonight they mostly helped themselves to crackers and cheese and ignored the salad.

They are incredible, the ones we get from this particular restaurant are topped with shrimp remoulade. Hot crispy tomatoes topped with the cool shrimp - :cloud9: . Google pictures of fried green tomatoes to see them. I posted Paula Deen's recipe for them here a while back.:goodvibes

:rotfl: Same here - you'd think my dog was bald too!

Kathy - here is the pork chop recipe you requested. Quick and Easy.

1 ½ pounds pork loin chops
Montreal Steak Seasoning
Cooking spray
¼ cup Marsala (I used Holland House cooking wine)
¼ cup hickory flavored BBQ sauce

Preheat skillet on medium high. Season both sides of chops with Montreal Steak Seasoning. Spray skillet with cooking spray and place chops in pan. Cover and cook for 3 minutes on each side.

Mix Marsala and BBQ sauce and pour over chops. Turn chops so that both sides have been sauced. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for an additional 3 minutes per side.

The kids and DH really liked these, but I think next time I will double the sauce. The flavor was different but good.

:lmao: :lmao:

I don't iron either. If it wasn't for DH, we would all look like we kept our clothes in a wadded up ball in the bottom of the closet. :rotfl:

Downey wrinkle release is my best friend. That has to be the greatest invention ever.:thumbsup2

I love them as well. I only make them once in a blue moon but every Friday I see Kathy's dinner and my mouth waters. DSIL likes them so we pester our friend for some good green tomatoes once the season is in full swing. I wish there was a restaurant in our area that made them....I hate to fry...I seem to make a huge mess.

You are too funny! So she would have Gorden Ramsey shaking huh? People would pay to see that!

I keep promising myself that I will keep up on my ironing but I am always behind. I don't use starch or sizing anymore but when the kids were little I did. I tend to have a huge overspray and the floor would get a little slippery. My youngest Daniel skidded across the kitchen floor, went tail over teakettle and landed buns down right in the trash pail. He asked me to stop starching the floor after that :rotfl2:. Erica said that she just got the book "The Art of Ironing" so maybe she'll let me borrow it.

Your dinner looked so good tonight. It would be a nice porch supper, I think.

See, there you go...making me crave green tomatoes . My niece has a beagle and he visits my sister. Between Otto and Riley, her Shepard there is more hair all over her floor. She could weave a rug.

Well, DD and DSIL are at the carnival with neighbors for supper more rides and games and the fireworks. Buddy worked late and only wanted a chicken sandwich. Actually he had four. I am going to have to do some cooking, but I had so much left in the fridge that it would have broken my heart to let it go bad.

I never used to, but when the kids were little I started ironing their clothes and I think it got away from me :lmao:

I use it when I iron all of the time! It smells so good.

I have a question - I've never used panko crumbs before and I picked some up the other day. I'm going to fry soft shell crabs tomorrow, would the panko work? Any suggestions?

Okay - so most of you don't know me; I another Lauri from the New Orleans board (we seem to have a lot of them on that board:rotfl2:). They keep talking about this thead and I decided to take a peek and read some posts. And someone (forgive me for not remembering who) posts pictures, AWESOME pictures of food. And I have ONE question: How in the H*** can someone make cheese and crackers look that d**n good?

Anyways - I'm gonna go back and look for more pictures. And recipes. Glad I already had dinner.
(BTW, DH grilled some sausage and made some store brand mac n cheese):)

Welcome Lauri!! Our food photo queens are sisters Becky & Laura, affectionately known as the Liam sisters. They are quite amazing!

Please stick around and swap recipes with us.:goodvibes

Today we are going to P.F. Chang's and to a movie. :)

WFD at your house?

I use panko. I obviously has a different texture. They don't get a crispy as other bread crumbs but I like them. I like to use it on fish. They would be really good for your tomatoes.;)

I forgot to say no cooking for me we have a birthday party this afternoon.

Lindsay have fun at PF Changs we have one nearby I want to try it one day.
