I haven't stopped by this thread in forever. I can see that I need to sit down and read a bunch of new recipes. You're making me hungry.

Tonight we're having meatloaf, potatoes and something green. :confused3

Tupperware snack plate- from when I sold Tupperware way back when! So before you look at the pic and go "Girl, you still have problems with portions!" It's about the size of a lunch plate, not a dinner plate!:lmao: I started to use those to make it look like I'm stuffing myself:goodvibes

There is such a thing as loving food too much.:guilty:

:rotfl2: Well, it's a pretty Tupperware snack plate anyway!! and it did make that look like a lot of food! So if it fools your mind into thinking you ate a whole bunch, that's even better!!!:goodvibes

Ooooh Man!!! Does that look great! I'm glad it's almost dinner time cause now I'm really hungry. It's been a great day for food porn here on the WFDT!!!

Jenny, that bruschetta looks incredible, recipe please!!!!!!

Spinach Bruschetta

1 bagette , slicked down the center

1 package frozen spinach
1 small jar artichokes(optional)
1 package cream cheese..I use garden or chives
1 cup mayo
1 package good seasons italian dressing
cheese( i use parm, mozzarells and provolone)
1 shallot ,minced (optional)
1 small tomato, diced(optional)
crushed red pepper (optional)

1 slice bagette and bake at 400 degrees until lightly toasted
2 smash cream cheese, then add mayo, italian seasoning, spinach ( heat it in the microwave first) artichokes, tomatoes, shallots, red pepper and cheeses.
3 spread spinach dip on bread., I cut the bead into 5 pieces for the 5 of us
4 bake in oven at 400 for about 10 minutes or until golden brown on top

I have to tell you all though that this was the last post that Laura was able to make from her computer before it finally gave up the ghost and plonked out for good. I bought a new one a few months ago, so she was going over to get my old one, but she may be offline for a few days until it's hooked up.

DSis underestimates my technical abilities. I had this baby up and running between dinner clean-up and kiddies bedtime. I guess you are still stuck with me :)

Dinner tonight was grilled chicken (very scorched in parts...I was trying to grill and keep track of neighborhood children at the same time), mashed sweet potatoes, sauteed spinach and mac and cheese for the kids, since they don't eat the sweet potatoes. They complained that the mac and cheese wasn't like it usually is (you would think that I wouldn't be able to screw it up at this point) but I guess the combination of cheeses I used didn't smooth right, and there were (gasp!) cheesy lumps.

Even though I just ate, the pictures posted here today are making me hungry again. I'm glad I didn't take a picture of tonight's meal. It paled in comparison.

Sorry if I missed some things. My computer was driving me crazy.

I did want to say Sheryl, I hope your daughter is having a better week.

Kyle still does stupid stuff, perfectly normal. It's just that the older they get the stupid stuff becomes "major" stupid stuff.;) It's so sweet that he helped you make dinner.:thumbsup2

Yeah, I guess its normal for boys...Andrew has learned his lesson for now I guess...:)

Kris (dh) is making me put a notice to go with all of my posts of said situations::lmao:
He wants it made clear that he is not blood related to this women.....she is his stepmother

I feel bad that you guys are going through this. It is hard to stay strong and think positively when people are acting like idiots.

We're here for you...

liamandcaili FormrCastMbr Alex's teacher informed me boys brains don't catch up to their bodies until thier teen's :rotfl: Most of the time ALex uses good judgement but like most 12 yr olds he thinks he is grown. Sometimes the mom hammer has to come down.

:scared1: I just want it to click with Andrew...it kills me to drop the hammer...I guess I'll have to deal with it a while...as some others state...maybe another 15 - 20 years!!! :scared1:

No about that pink tie and the WC ..........:dance3:, I don't know what to say but that that handsome guy could wear anything and still look good!

Awww, thank you!

Hope everyone has agreat day. Oh, and DD was actually on the news last night b/c of the camp she's going to this week. She was so excited to see herself on TV.

How cool is that???!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Honestly it's really easy... You just roll out pizza dough long ways, put the fillings down the center and then fold over the sides, then the top, coat with olive oil and bake.. I will also season the outside of it with garlic basil oregano etc.. I sometime put the sauce inside, sometimes put it on the side for dipping.

That picture you posted looked awesome - thank you! :goodvibes I was going to ask for the bruschetta recipe but I see you already posted it...makes me crave stromboli...it may be on the weekend list...:)

Yummo!

Here's a pic and the recipe from dinner last night. Next time I would add a little more cayenne and a little less cilantro

Spiced Chicken Thighs with Yogurt Sauce

HA!! I have 2 sets of those plates from 2 different seasons- my kids use them mostly but they are great for most anything!! I bought them when I was pregnant with DD9 knowing I'd use them for my kid/s one day.

I love the food porn! I need to take pictures of our meals so I can contribute some =)

This week, however, there is nothing worth contributing at my house! Tonight my dinner for 1 was good ol' tuna casserole. DH hates the stuff so I make a big dish of it anytime he's out of town. It's something my mom made frequently growing up so it's pure comfort food. It was yummy - to me - but most people gag at it. ;)

It's only 6:30 in the morning and I am starving! With food porn like this I have got to keep up during the day because it is treacherous to my waistline in the morning!

Lori

I just saw your siggy. Your kids are adorable!

Tonight I am making Renaissance of Tuna Casserole with a few changes. I am using mini-penne instead of fettuccine, and grilling some chicken breasts and shredding them instead of the tuna.

WFD at your house?

I am falling behind here.

Jenny- I make a dip similar to your bruschetta. I am going to try your method, it looks so much prettier.

Stephanie- Your DD must be thrilled!

Sheryl- How is your DD doing? Is there a light showing at the end of her tunnel yet?

Dinner has been - well there really has been NO dinner lately. I washed and ironed all morning yesterday and then headed out into the yard. I am behind on all of my yard work so I stayed out there until 8 PM. DD ran errands to buy teacher gifts so I think they ate out :confused3. I had a leftover chicken salad sandwich and DH had bologna sandwiches. I am not allowed to touch his creations, he builds them himself, says I make him nervous cutting tomatoes to fit the roll, spreading mayo to reach all corners, use a plate.

Anyway I am going to try to cook something tonight, but they are all going to be at the farm and DH wants me to show up with Kady ! I better make sure she has her work boots on..............

Wow! Dinner, what is that? I have not seen one of those in a long time.... :rotfl: Unless you count the PB&J (or Fluff!!) I cant wait for dinner tonight!!!

He wants you to bring Kady to the farm! Is he CRAZY!!!:scared:

Last night we had Glynis's pot roast. Oh my, that was really good. I did alter the recipe a bit. I had some red wine that I needed to use, so I poured some of it in the crock pot as well. The girls just loved the roast. It was so tender and had a great taste. We added crowder peas and mashed potatoes. Tonight we will have the leftovers. Dessert was a really cold, freshly sliced watermelon. Have a wonderful day!

Dinner last night was really yummy. The glaze on the salmon was really nice and I really liked the pineapple with fresh mint. the blueberry pie, OTOH, was not quite so nice. Cookies and cakes I can do, pies are always a disaster. It's edible, but somehow my measurements with the sugar/flour/berries were way off--maybe it had something to do with making it with a 3 year old. Or at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!:rotfl2:

Tonight will be grilled turkey burgers with a roasted corn salad. Yummo!

Good Morning all!

Tonight is Chicken Francese, linguine and broccoli for Tom's bday! He has finally caught up to me...I am the older woman!!! :)

I am picking up my dress today!!! :cool1:

I remember the first time I made pie, I was on the WDWCP and I was making a bunch of friends Easter dinner...I attempted an apple pie. I even used a recipe that was given to me by the baker at The Gourmet Pantry, where I worked, and it came out like soup!!! :confused3 We sat around the table and ate it from the pie plate with spoons. It tasted really good.

I am not a great baker...I usually blame the oven!!!

Don't go messin with Buddy while he's creating!!!!!:lmao:

I wish I could use that as my story!

Tonight we're having one of the few dishes I don't use a recipe for, it's a family fave - pork, peppers, onions & pasta. Sides will be peas and garlic bread!

Dinner sounds so good! I cannot use the child story. When I burn things she reminds me that I need her to watch over them :rotfl:

:cheer2::cheer2: One more task completed :thumbsup2\

If I start blaming my oven I am in big trouble. When we were planning the kitchen I just had to have the GE Trivection/Convection double wall ovens. I have used the speed cook maybe twice, and ha was on appetizers. If I try using that bad boy as an excuse, I am going to be freezer fodder.

Don't go messin with Buddy while he's creating!!!!!:lmao:
