Hi everyone,

I started a huge painting project this week, so I haven't been online as much. I am repainting my kitchen cabinets, and I'm trying to finish before DH comes home on Wednesday. He wanted to leave the cabinets the way they were. I want to have them done, so he can see how much better they look my way. ;)

Dinner tonight was pasta...again. I only had 15 minutes to get things together, so it was pasta with a fresh tomato sauce and a salad.

Thanks for the biscuit recipe, Wendie. I will try that the next time I make them.

My husband is on-call this weekend so we need to stay close to home. So we are planning on getting takeout from somewhere.

WFD at your house?

:cool1: Great Welcome Home!!!!

You just bought into DVC? Did you buy at Saratoga or Animal Kingdom? We were wondering what the new store was all about? Is it an actual store or just a kiosk in the mall?

It is an actual store it has the studio and 1 bedroom models of the Animal kingdom. I bought into Saratoga. While I liked Animal kingdom, it location isn't for us.

We baked in the sun last night at the Cougars game then when the sun went down we feed the mosquitos. Thank goodness Alex is beyond the I wants. They sold just about everything but Disney shares there.

Tonght I plan on steak on the grill with baked potato and a salad.

Catching up, here is the cheese plate we had for dinner Thursday:

The stuff in the metal bowl is labne with roasted veggies and nigella seeds, and the stuff to the far right is melted St. Andre with some raspberry jam.

Here is yesterday's farmer's market haul:

I'll report back later on today's menu. Laura's coming over so I am waiting until she gets here to finalize. Likely it will be some kind of fish.

Last night- mesquite marinated pork loin, mashed potatoes and sliced perfect tomato on bibb lettuce with raspberry sherbet for dessert. Today we will have the leftover pork loin sliced thin on Cuban sandwiches for lunch.

Tonight- huge fresh shrimp I got this a.m. (suckers were swimming yesterday) will be a generous shrimp cocktail with spicy sauce (LOTS of horseradish) along with some thin ribeyes, potatoes and green bean bundles and then orange sherbet.

Sunday- BBQ ribs, potato salad, bread and marinated cucumbers. Lime sherbet :rotfl: (can you tell it is hot and I don't want to bake anything?)

Good morning everyone!!

Becky - great pics as usual!!:thumbsup2

Tarheel Tink - Those sherbets sound really good with this heat wave going on!!!

Tonight we're having King Crab Legs and sweet & sour pasta salad!

Hi All!

Quickly checking in...we are having Toms sister and BIL over for a bbq. We are having: mozz, roasted peppers and olives with italian toast, chips and dip, keilbasa grilled, ribs, burgers, lettuce tomato and onion tray and store bought salads. Fruit for dessert.

Have a great day. The weather in Jersey is perfect today!!! :)

Just stoping in for a minute!

Everyone is at the farm today, the weather is perfect for cutting. I am the runner, gofer and pinch hit tractor jockey so as soon as I get my home chores done I have to get back. Have a great day everyone!

Man, you are so lucky to have fresh shrimp! They are just not available here (except for the Maine shrimp in season which ae completely different.) I've only had fresh shrimp once, it had been flown up from (Florida, maybe?), and I could not BELIEVE the difference! Especially in the texture. It was so, so good.

How do you cook your King Crab Legs? I just bought some and have them in the freezer- I don't want to screw them up! Someone told me boil for 15 minutes?

We are so fortunate (and spoiled). My seafood guy Roscoe (quite a character) is fantastic. I usually get an extra pound each week and freeze it for the winter- today I got some fresh "picked" crabmeat to sock away also for some winter crabcakes. We usually have shrimp every week during spring and summer (fried or steamed with Old Bay usually). We ate out earlier this week at Sanitary Fish Market on the water (didn't see any dolphins go by this time)- shrimp cocktail, soft shelled crab, trout, shrimp, scallops and oysters! Leftovers for lunch and still crave more... My aunt has the fisherman come right up to her dock to get her seafood but I do drive about a mile for mine. :rotfl:

I've found the best and tastiest way is to put them in a large roasting pan with sliced lemons. Season with your favorite cajun seasoning(I use Tony's creole) add enough water to just come up about halfway(don't fully cover them in water) then add liquid crab boil to taste. Cover and put in the oven on low heat for about an hour, they're pre-cooked all you need to do is heat & flavor them. I make a butter/garlic dipping sauce and we're in HEAVEN!!!!:cloud9:

Hi, everyone! It's been a busy couple of days here. My nephew got married yesterday, so Alan and I spent the day with family. After the ceremony, we had a fun "wedding luncheon" that was great. Turkey, ham, salads, chips, salsa, lots of desserts. It was so much fun! Instead of a traditional reception, the bride and groom decided on a casual barbecue at her dad's house. It was a ton of fun. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salads, fresh vegetables, brownies, cookies, and of course, wedding cake! It was really perfect for them, as neither of them are "dressy" folk!

Today is our town's celebration. We started off the morning with a parade, games in the park, and a town barbecue. We had steak sandwiches, and Polish sausages for lunch. Since Alan has to leave tomorrow to go back to the mine, we are going out to dinner tonight. The kids will be having mac and cheese. Poor kids. Actually, they love the stuff and would eat it all week long if I'd let them. I don't know where Alan and I will go, but it should be fun! It will benice to spend some time with him before he leaves again tomorrow.

I never would have guessed! Thank you! I already have too much cajun seasoning so I will love to use some of it up. Low heat- 350?

I defrost them first and then put them in about 225-250 for an hour. Hope you try it, don't forget the garlic/butter sauce!
