Afternoon Y'all,

I had to go switch out our van for a nasty smoky smelly rental this morning.:sad2: Can you tell I don't like rentals? Anyway, DH's van has gone in to the shop to have really hi-tech hand controls installed. Our van will be in the shop for 6-8 weeks! We are both worried about how it will all work out, a joystick for driving! I shouldn't be complaining though we were able to get a van with a lift just like our new van. But it still stinks! figuratively & literally! Sorry for venting!

Thanks for all the compliments on my food pics!

Lori,:rotfl2: Thanks for making my day better! Girl you are too funny! I now have a mental picture of you a la chocolate bunny mode standing in line in Epcot for Rosa!:lmao: :rotfl: I knew you have something good to say about Lauren's suggestion, but I still underestimated you!

Sheryl

Oh yeah, I forgot about the food too!:goodvibes

I have a pork loin thawing, that Bobby Flay recipe sounds good, but sounds sort Asian/Chinese, & I just had chinese leftovers from yesterday for lunch.

I also bought cabbage & mustard greens, so I'm going to go hunt for ideas on Lindsay's very well handled first page!:thumbsup2 Lindsay, You do a great job, thanks!

If I don't come up with something different, it will be my Skillet Pork & Cabbage.

PS. Thanks for the idea Lauren but 1) I'd need a paint roller to cover my amplitude in chocolate (and prolly put Rick into a diabetic coma in the meantime!) and 2) don't think Epcot would be real receptive to me a la choco bunny mode trotting back to Italy for the Rosa!:rolleyes1

I was thinking I would need a roller and paint tray as well, but I was not brave enough to say it first.

Now as to the the Bunny trotting through EPCOT..............................I think it depends who is in EPCOT

Glynis- I hope that you are out of pain soon. I make that cranberry chicken also, and it is very good. My family prefers the apricot jam instead of the cranberries now that they have had both, but I don't always give them a choice.

Kathy- I don't know why, but the cranberry sauce doesn't taste like cranberries. My family won't touch whole berry cranberry sauce but likes this dish. I call it Polynesian Chicken and they don't know the difference.

That just might work!!;)

Anybody know anything about the "Magic Shell" ice cream sauce? Do you have to put it on ice cream for it to get solid or does it get hard just spreading it out?

Now I bet you're wondering about that question. Huh?!?:rotfl2:
I'm not even gonna touch that one. :rolleyes1  :lmao:

Glynis ~ Sorry about your arm, hope you're feeling better soon.

Betsy ~ I'm interested, please post the recipe.

WFD? Something with boneless skinless chicken breast, haven't figured out what yet.

As for last night's grilled hoisin marinated pork, I didn't marinate it long enough so it didn't have much flavor. Next time I'm going to leave it in overnight and see how it turns out.

Lindsay, I think you do a great job. What I do is use the search function (beef, pork, etc)...then find next, find next until I come to the recipe that I am looking for. I am not very computer literate and DF just showed me how to do this...:rolleyes1 . I don't even know how to post pics...DF did the one in my signature. :confused3

Lauren, Are you using the Dis search function or something else like Google? My Dis search has not worked correctly since the "updates"! Searching has become useless, it won't find a thing.
:confused3

Alot has happened since I last posted. I am just running out but wanted to let you guys know that I use the edit function on the toolbar and then select find in this page...does that make sense? OK, now let me go spit the toothpaste out of my mouth...yeah, I am addicted to the DIS!!!

Minnie - the gravy mix and ranch dressing packs are 1 oz. The Italian dressing mix is 0.7 oz. At least that's what I've always used and it comes out great!

Thank you for answering my question Kathy. :)

Glynis- Thank you so much for the pot roast recipe! My dad loved it. :cool1:

Tonight I'm going to have a light dinner of grilled vegetables. YUM! I season them with extra virgin olive oil, oregano, lemon juice, salt, pepper and then grill them. So good!

Cool, it works!!!!!!!! Thanks so much Lauren!

Hi All,

Here is the recipe for Chicken Divan by Paula Deen. I usually serve this over a bed of rice. I hope you enjoy as much as we do!!! :goodvibes

Chicken Divan

2 (10-ounce) packages frozen broccoli, chopped
6 cups shredded chicken, cooked
2 (10 3/4-ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup ( I use chick or celery...I'm not a mushroom fan)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 cup grated sharp Cheddar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon curry powder
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Remove the outer wrappers from the boxes of broccoli. Open 1 end of each box. Microwave on full power for 2 minutes, until thawed. Drain the broccoli and put into a casserole dish. Add the shredded chicken.

In a medium bowl, combine the soup, mayonnaise, sour cream, Cheddar, lemon juice, curry powder, salt and pepper, to taste, and wine. Whisk together to make a sauce. Pour the sauce over the broccoli and chicken. Mix well with a spatula.

Place the mixture into an 11 by 7-inch casserole dish or 2 (9-inch) square disposable aluminum foil pans that have been sprayed with vegetable oil cooking spray. Pat down evenly and smooth with a spatula. Combine the Parmesan, bread crumbs and butter and sprinkle over the top.

Bake for about 30 to 45 minutes.

That Nancy is a hoot!!!!!!!!!

Gretchen - Only a few more days for you!

Actually it is one less than my ticker shows, DH and I decided about a month ago to leave a day early and I was too lazy to fix it. We are leaving Friday morning and driving (about 7.5 hours) and should be in Orlando late afternoon barring any traffic. We are really excited about the trip. We are taking our niece with us. She is 7 and has never been. When I told her we were having breakfast at Chef Mickey's and gave her the list of the characters there, she told me "Aunt Gretchen, I've waited my whole life to meet those guys in person." :goodvibes We can't wait to show her WDW.

Her mother (DSIL) was supposed to come with us, but may not be able to because my nephew with the apparent death wish had another motor cycle accident this weekend (his fifth or sixth, who can keep up) and is in the hospital today following emergency surgery. DH and I really wanted his sister to come too, but figured we could handle one more child either way and don't want our niece to miss out on her trip because her brother is an idiot. :sad2:

Thanks for letting me vent.

Gretchen

Reading what your niece said brought tears to my eyes! What an incredible trip this will be to see everything through her eyes.:cloud9:

I hope your nephew recovers and gets rid of the motorcycle.:sad2:
