Jenny - I only make corned beef and cabbage once a year, too, but my kids beg for it at least once a month. I'm afraid if I made it more often, they'd stop liking it!

Well, guys, this is my last post until post-trip! It is rainy and cold here, and tomorrow I will have my toes in the Caribbean Sea! Whoo-hoo! I won't have internet on the island, and we are going for three weeks, so I will "talk" to you all again on June 8th. I will be cooking down there, so I'll have some photos for you when I get back, with an ocean backdrop! Me and my stupid blond hair are outta here!

What just a minute! I didn't realize the Beach you mentioned was in the Caribbean!!!! What the heck? And THREE WEEKS! Oooooh, Baby! I'm am so jealous of you & your beautiful blonde hair!

And I can't even begin to imagine how good that food is going to look with a Caribbean backdrop!!! Have fun, can't wait til you're back with beautiful Caribbean Food Porn!

And the ice cream is to counter-act the time of the month....But it's yummy. Ice cream with mini marshmallows and caramel sauce then with magic shell over that. I like mint chocolate chip that way, but I got vanilla this time.

Kathy ~ Congrats to your DS for getting his license! My DS wants to drive so bad, but thankfully he's still only 11. He'll have to be happy with go-carts for a few more years.

And DH flys in for the weekend (and boy will his arms be tired......I kill me sometimes ) today. Dinner is meatball stroganoff in the crockpot and ice cream with mini marshmallows and...................wait for it................................. Magic Shell!

DS had his middle school orientation last night at 6pm so we picked up subs for DH and me and McDonalds for DS, on the way home. I can't believe he's going to be in middle school in August.


I don't have a clue WFD tonight. I don't think I have anything in the house, it just started raining and I don't want to go to the store. Guess I'd better go hunt through the freezer and pantry.

well, it's gonna be slim pickin's for me for the next moth-i am trying a "diet plan" to lose a few and i'll be cookimg differently for myself than my family
I am unsure about how this will work out but I invested in it and now I am gonna' do it. BTW Lori(FQ) I just counteracted my monthly "friend"(whoever made that one up ) with CHOCOLATE and some heavy meds! Now it's done (thank you GOD) and I'm on the diet plan-Lori

I'm a little late posting today. I've spent way too many hours doctoring up my daughter's ballet costume for her recital this weekend. She claimed it was too itchy, so now it is practically couture (with much messier stiches) as I hand-sewed a soft, silky lining into the costume. If she still complains, she's going to be eating cheese sandwiches all next week.

Anyway, I did take a short break from sewing and made pizza.

Oh, and Nancy, I was going to post my egg and dairy-free cupcake recipe for you today, but I didn't have time to look for it. It's coming though.

This is Mermaid02- DH and I are on vacation for the weekend and we brought my Mom's laptop- dd was already signed on and I'm too lazy to sign her out. Anyway- we are in Bar Harbor Maine and per usual for our anniversary trip- it's raining. Glad we didn't pay for an ocean view- too foggy, can't see a thing.
We ate at Geddy's last night, appetizers and beer. Tonight I'm not sure where we are going. No place too fancy, but I would like to have a lobster. We stay right in town so we can walk everywhere. Rain or not, it's a fun town to be in!

Mermaid--Happy anniversary!

Well, the pie last night was a hit. I took sugar free Cheesecake flavored pudding, mixed in 1/2 tub light Cool Whip, and 8ounces light cream cheese. Pour into a graham cracker crust. Topped with sliced strawberries and then the rest of the cool whip! Pretty tasty! Have a great weekend everyone!

Well I feel like I'm cheating on Glynis tonight, I was reading thru Paula Deen's cookbook this morning and saw her pot roast recipe that I used to use until I found Glynis' recipe, so that's WFD tonight. don't tell!

Good morning! DH and I got up early and hit the farmers market and Central Market this morning for goodies. Those TX peaches are smelling SO good this time of year!

Tonight we have reservations for the patio at P.F. Changs. I plan to get the charbroiled lamb dish, pot stickers and several mojitos =) YUM.

I can understand that! Your recipe was the best I had ever made. My Aunt was trying to figure out how to make hers last longer and eat it at the same time!

Well nobody told us that DS, because he's only 16, would only be getting a "restricted" license meaning he cannot drive after 11PM until after we waited at the DMV for two hours. He turns 17 on June 4th so we are just going to wait instead of paying twice. Not that he'll be allowed out much after 11, but I just know he'll be bugging the **** out of me to get it removed.

Rest assured I will start stocking up on Rosa Regale for when he's out with the car!!

Teen Boys! I should have been drinking when my oldest was on the road. Come to think of it, maybe I still should consider it

Okay, I am still trying to get the knack of this multi thing. I keep losing them, so I am passing on the rest becasue I will never get to my Aunts today.

liamandcailli- You DD is going to be a cutie in her Haute Couture outfit! I would appreciate te recipe for the cupcakes. Marisa has some appointments this week, the nutritionist met with her GI guy, scheduled some more tests at an allergy center, and is sending some information to get her started. She shopped for some staples and I am going to continue to accept any recipes for all of you. We are fortunate that her team of doctors are all on the same page here and that there are no egos. Her first pediatrician canceled an appointment Marisa made with a specialist so Risa fired her and was blessed with this Dr. He has been wonderful because even though everything kept coming back normal he said that he knew it was not and worked with her other Dr's to make sure that nothing was overlooked.


Last night Buddy took us out to dinner, so my plans for last night (no plans, just leftovers) are now tonights menu.

Well, I made waffles on my new waffle iron this morning, and that's the extent of my cooking today! I'm going to a bridal shower for lunch, and then DH and I are going to dinner and to see a production of My Fair Lady. I'm not sure where we'll go for dinner, but I'm hoping for a juicy steak!!!

We got the delivery from Omaha Steaks so tonight will be filet mignon, potatoes au gratin, broccoli. OMG, so much stuff for such a great price.

I think we will have some shrimp cocktail too...Rosa Regale is chilling...we had a bottle last night too!!!
