Hi all, stupid Webkinz question here... I just got an email from Walgreens about something called "Lil'Kinz" they have now? On sale for $5.99. I've never had a Webkinz, so clueless about all of this. Do the Lil'Kinz gain you access to the website fun too? Or just the regular Webkinz?

Yes! The Lil'Kinz are just smaller (and cheaper) versions. But if you're looking for a pet of the month, it's specific whether it's a big or lil kinz. You'll get all the same benefits of the game with a Lil Kinz.

Oh yay! Thanks a bunch! I've read how other DIS'ers find the games there so addictive, and I'd love to see for myself since I am taking the summer semester off. Of course, the real trick will be trying to keep DS off the computer long enough for me to play.

I would not pay real cash for virtual items. At least when you by clothes you get the real item and a virtual item. 9 real dollars for a bed? I rather put the 9 dollars toward a lilkinz. at least a year from now i'll still have the plush toy. The sad thing about the estore is that a lot of people will shell out that kind of money. I'm really dissapointed especially now that I see the grey wolf will not become a plush toy but just a virtual pet.

I like the idea of the estore.

My son has a friend who won't let him get more Webkinz because they don't want anymore plush in the house. Well, now he can have more pets on his account without adding to the clutter around his house.

I can't even begin to figure out how much money we've spent on trading cards, only to not get the item we wanted, and not finish collecting the whole set. The virtual store lets us get the item we want, when we want it, and it actually will save us some money.

And paying cash for Kinzcash is a great way to get a present for friend without actually getting them a plush.

It definitely fills certain needs. Not to mention the instant gratification of being on the computer, buying it, entering the code, and getting it - without getting into the car and hitting the mall!

it just kills me that i'd have to work a hour and a half to get a super bed for 9 bucks that i cant trade with my friend or sell back when i dont want it anymore.

you have a point about the animals cluttering the house but at the same time some of us wants the plush toy. I think they should make it avaible with the plush and with just the code so you can choose. If I spend 9 bucks on something i want to be able to hold it in my hand.

I dont see why ganz is charging so much money for the stuff anyways. I mean the toys are 10-15 bucks then the clothes are 4-10 bucks plus all the other stuff that they have out why would they charge so much for a virtual item? its not like its costing them to make the stuff like the real life items. I guess i'm just sad that we dont have very good themes in the WW and now theres new stuff and they want to charge an arm and a leg for it.

If the sales aren't great at the beginning, they may lower the prices. And then they may actually come out with the plush at a later date. And have the items available through the curio shop. This is a brand new thing for them and no one knows if it will work or not. I just see that it would fill a need for some people.

yeah it just sucks those for those who cant afford those items. I really think they should make more themes instead of making the estore. I know a lot of my friend complain they dont want to buy another animal because they have already used all the themes.

All I know is that I'm happy with it - and I'm just selfish enough to think that's all that matters.

We've been on Webkinz for two years, and I have 36 plush on one account, and another account I created with a trading card pet.

My son has more (and I'm not sure exactly - it's like almost 80!) since he gets them for every holiday and kids give them as party favors at bday parties and the school uses them as prizes.... any money he gets he wants to spend on Webkinz as well.

It just occurred to me - they have a school carnival today - I wonder if he will come home with any?

thats insane! can you name all of your pets? and can your son name all of his? I've decided once I cant remember the names of my pets I should stop buying them.

Well, I did forget and name two of my pets Cookie, but I forgot that I had adopted a panda that my son didn't want. But yes, I pretty much remember all their names. I keep them easy - Mommy Bear, Daddy Bear, Sister, Brother...... and I usually have family groups (Bear family, Elephant family, Cat Family....)


My son remembers everything! And he's on Webkinz Insider updating me on the latest, and all the other message sights. He wants to work for Ganz designing Webkinz. He still has a ways to go but he does a lot of sketching and brainstorming. It's a really good hobby for him.

I have a Webkinz Compound.

One of the things I like most is decorating. So my "families" have whole houses surrounded by yards that lead to more houses. Not to mention the school.

I have no plans to get any more pets of my own. I haven't for awhile - the last one I got was a gift. And I didn't adopt it for the longest time - didn't know what to do with it!

He's just in 2nd grade - so he's got a long way to go. But who knows - I might be telling a magazine reporter years from now, "He always wanted to design Webkinz......."

And I didn't cheat on all the names, just enough.
