I tend to book standard view to save points since the standard views are nice, but the lake views are lovely as well. Page 1 post 3 of this thread has a map & links to some views. In the original DVC building (which is where the 1 br.s are located) all villas are numbered 1xxx, the floor your villa is located on is the second number & the actual villa location on that floor is the last 2 numbers. The elevators are very fast, & the building is compact, the lake side doesn’t get much foot traffic, so there’s no particular reason to request higher or lower floor w/ a lake view other than personal preference.

Any inside scoop of the LV 1 bedroom? Or tips of what to request? It’s our two girls (8 and 13) and my other half.

We stayed on fourth floor a couple years ago, center of building, amazing views. Wish I could remember room # but you can’t really go wrong. I attached a couple pics to give a better perspective.

Is the sidewalk to from the Grand Floridian to the Polynesian still blocked off due to Island Tower construction? Getting inside a month to our trip and was hoping they’d open it back up once Island Tower was getting close to finished

Unfortunately, yes. I would not expect it to reopen until construction is completed. You can take the boat over to Poly, or monorail if you want the scenic route. Have fun!

Our very first stay as DVC members and our first 2 nights will be at VGF!! So excited!! Can you tell me if check in is in the main lobby or in the VGF 1 building? Thanks!

Congrats and welcome home! You can check in either location! If your room is in BPK, the main lobby is quicker, but if you’re in an original villa, go to the VGF building

Thanks! We actually have a night in each! I was very happy last night to book an extra night on the front end of our trip that is less than 3 weeks away!!

Got a stay coming up at a 1BR villa. We're planning on arriving early afternoon so doubt our room will be ready so will probably head straight to MK after checking bags. Can they check bags and groceries (some being cold) at the VGF building or would we be better checking bags over at main lobby if the groceries will have to be delivered there anyway?

They can hold it for you at the VGF building; though BS closes around 7pm IIRC, so get back in time to pick up the food. Double check the time when you give them your bags.

It looks fabulous! I love how spacious it is and how the merchandise isn't crammed together. It's luxurious and fitting for The Grand. Makes me feel like shopping

Beautiful, but the hard floors make my feet hurt just looking at them. I thought padded carpeted shopping was a real thing

Good morning neighbors! We will be checking in to the Villas in a one bedroom next week and are so excited! On arrival day we have a cabana booked. I would love some recent reviews of how you enjoyed your cabana rental. For instance, did you order food and/or drinks? If not and you went to the quick service was it a long distance from your cabana? Did you receive a call from Recreation Services the day before confirming your arrival time? And if like us you made the reservation through WDW-407-PLAY were you able to apply the DVC discount?
