"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I wonder what's up with Eric going to Lafayette's house in the previews.

The party at Maryann's house was reminiscent of the parties in the book, though somewhat less graphic. I guess because it's HBO and not the Playboy Channel.

Does it matter after you're a vampire that you were turned at 17 and going after men who are 10 years older than you are? Though, I liked the chemistry between Hoyt and Jessica.

Disappointing that we didn't get to see the glamouring of Jessica's parents and to see what Bill would have done about the hole in the wall and the broken front door.

I loved last night's episode!!!!

Is Maryane the maenad? Was that her with the horns? What's up with Daphne? Is she under the maenad's spell? In the book Sookie is attacked by the maenad and I always assumed it was Maryanne, but on another forum people think Maryanne is something else.

Jessica and Hoyt - too cute! I am actually liking the Jessica character so far.

The acting in this show is really good. I love how Bill is portrayed and Eric and Pam are spot on. The actor who plays Jason is amazing too - he is so convincing as clueless.

I was so confused about the ending. I don't get whats wrong with Daphne. Well I understand she was scratched by the creature, but wouldn't she be dead?

Last night's episode was better than the week before. Jessica is growing on me. I didn't like her at first.

I thought last night's episode was awesome - finally, more Eric!

When they showed Tara run off the road last year, that was how the maenad appeared to Sookie in the book - naked with a large pig. So, I assumed Maryanne was the maenad - it makes sense with the party goings-on. But, she was also who inflicted the wound on Sookie, so I don't know what that bull-thing was. And how could Daphne have the scratches and not be dead?

Bill and Sookie are going to Dallas, just like book 2 - I'm glad they're still keeping some of the books' storylines.

How are we gonna wait 2 weeks for the next episode?!?

Well, back to work..

:sunny:

Remember how Dr. Ludwig was talking about how the Komodo Dragon poisons it's victims and then tracks it until it dies? I think that's a HUGE clue re: Daphne...

I figure Eric is going to bother Lafayette until he helps them in some way. Then we keep seeing him in the show. Even though they let him go, he's still useful to them. Maybe they will use him for an exchange of vampire blood.

Can a 17 yr old vampire still be considered jail bait? Will she be allowed to have sex? We know Bill won't want her to because he comes from an earlier time when 17 yr old were brought up with morals and you keep your petticoats down. But, can he stop her from tramping around, now?

Maryann's party reminded me of how the Greek festivals for Dionysus probably were. They'd spend all day watching the competiton of the Greek tragedies. Then they'd watch the Greek comedy, then then the sexy satyr plays which would get them in the mood for the partying, dancing and probably rampant sex after all the plays were over.

They showed the the bull-thing last season, didn't they? Or was it only in one of those pirated Chinese episodes I saw online? I noticed they changed some things in the overseas Chinese cut I watched. Like they would take out a shot of something in the final U.S. version, that they thought was too revealing to the storyline.

Specifically, when Bill was being chained up in episode one, in the woods, Maryann was actually watching it, hiding in the woods. She probably could have come forward to save Bill, instead of Sookie. HBO, in the final cut, took that quick shot out, so Maryann didn't appear at all in episode one.

Good point! I didn't even think about that. :thumbsup2

That is so interesting! What form was Maryanne in when she was hiding in the woods? Were there any other interesting differences?

AAAAAACK! I cannot take the extreme gore in this show! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Episodes need to have an "EG" rating for Extreme Gore before episodes. :p

:rotfl2: Pam's heels! :lmao:

ewwww- when the doc was pulling those things out of Sookie's wounds- UGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!:scared:

Pam's heel dilemma was hilarious!:rotfl2:

I love Hoyt and Jessica together. They are so sweet. I think she just wanted some "fresh meat" but then found out he was a good catch and was glad he accepted her.

I remember last season (I think it was) when Hoyt said to Sookie- if he found the right girl- it would not matter if she were a vamp.

I watched it last night and WHAT was that thing that attacked Sookie? My fiance and I think there is something going on with the "Fellowship of the Sun" couple in terms of Jason, something seems a bit off about them. Like, the wife is a bit too close to him. I couldn't help but feel bad for Layaffette when he laid on his couch. As for Bill's new vampire "daughter" I can understand why Jessica likes Hoyt, they are kind of alike. I don't think it matters that he is technically older then her because she is stuck at that age for eternity so she isn't always going to go for guys who are her age and there was something about Hoyt that must have attracted her.

In a weird way, I think Eric (blond vampire) is cute.

I also think that Maryann is the Maenad. There's enough different from the book, though, to keep me guessing. I think that's kind of nice.

It seems like there was another shifter in the mix at this point, so maybe it's Daphne. She has to be some form of "sup" to have survived that attack. Don't know if she is working for the creature or not, but poor Sam deserves a break!

Now if they don't follow the Eric/Sookie storyline, that will be a big departure from the books, and a big loss. Eric needs to be on the show more! I think they are using him as much as they can right now, kind of like they are trying to bring Lafayette in more. Both are interesting actors.

Oh, and Jessica is not in the books at all, but her addition works great!

Did anyone see the previews for the next show. Someone was whispering in Sam's ear "I know what you are". You can only see their mouth and nose, but it looked like Daphne to me.

Yep, I agree. Question is, does she know about Sam due to her attack or because she is a supe as well? If she's a supe, what is she? He would recognize a shifter and she's not a vamp...

I just picked up Living Dead in Dallas over lunch and I am one page 10 just walking back to my office, but now I have to work, ugh! Loved it last night. I too think Jessica and Hoyt make a good couple, boy will his Momma have a fit!

OMG- all of this stuff to think about is giving me a headache!:headache:

Hey- are you following me?:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I should keep all of my TB comments in one area:rotfl2:

My guess is that Maryann is the Maenad since the way the horns were shaped on the bull's head is the same way the arms curved on the statue Sam picked up and it is the way Maryann has placed her arms when she is in her weird state of being.

Oh, and Eric isn't just hot, he's SMOKIN' HOT!
