*** The Official September 2018 Thread *** let's get started to have some fun

Ok guys, it's been a rough month for us: my husband lost his job, and then yesterday morning on my way to work the tire on my car blew out and I wrecked the car. Luckily no one else was involved and I wasn't hurt at all (and the car is 18 years old so doesn't take much to total it), but it's been just...stressful. We now have to get a new car ASAP so I can get to work.

But it hasn't been all bad: we have savings to buy a used car and my husband got a conditional job offer yesterday (crossing fingers it works out!), and my parents have been super helpful with the whole thing. We are very blessed.

Mostly though, I've just been so grateful for the distraction of the disboards and grateful that we've already paid for most of the trip so even if DH didn't find a new job we'd still be going to Disney! :) Only 41 days---can't wait!
Oh I am so sorry you are having so many troubles. I pray everything works out better for you in the end.

thank you! I think it will, I'm just still a bit shook up. But I love that I can come here and just enjoy the Disney fun amongst fellow Disney fans :)

Oh no! I'm so sorry you guys are having to deal with all of that. I can totally relate... we've had times like that. When it rains, it pours. I'm really glad your trip is not in jeopardy though! You will enjoy it so much more after all the stress leading up to it.

Just booked dinner on 9/3 at Trail’s End. Looking forward to it!!

ETA: I was also able to add Boma for dinner on 9/7. Any suggestions on the best way to get back to Contemporary from AKL? Is Lyft the easiest option? I don't mind doing the Minnie Van...

Lyft or Minnie van would by far be the easiest. You could also take the bus to MK and walk to the Contemporary for free.

Thinking we will just Minnie Van to avoid security hassles. Thanks!
We did this when we went from Pop to Beaches and Cream. I know the Minnie Van was more expensive that. Uber or Lyft but the cast member was fun and was able to drive backstage and got us there quicker. We wouldn't do it every time but it was definitely fun.

We took one in November and the CM was great. He drove us to AKL from Beach Club and parked and walked us into Sanaa. I think it's definitely going to be worth it after a long day.

I don't think it's worth making a special trip unless you want to also want to travel over there to do other things, like watch the Boardwalk performers. I love the mini-kitchen sink (in the Mickey pants bowl), but I think the ice cream is way better at Ample Hills (on the Boardwalk). No ADR required, so you can just play it by ear and see how you feel. Where are you staying? I'm wondering how out of the way the trip to B&C is.

We are at POP so it may be tiring to get back to the resort from there. We do have park hoppers so we could go into Epcot I suppose. I just realized though this is our EMM day also so maybe its too long of a day?

Did everyone see the Free Dining bounce back offer for next year? Anyone planning on booking it? We're going to book for September 5-14, I think! Our first time that we will book Deluxe! We're thinking Contemporary or Beach Club!

Yup plan on booking a bounceback for September 2-13 2019! Hoping to get one last semi-calm visit before the insanity known as Galaxy’s Edge descends upon the World :)

Then it will be Disneyland in 2020 and back to Disney World for the 50th in 2021!!

My 30 days was yesterday and trip is paid off! :yay: Hoping the next month goes by fairly quick. Haven't started packing or anything yet, so maybe Ill get on that to keep me busy. I think my itinerary is pretty final at this point. Just waiting for FEA dessert party dates and F&W booth reviews to come out now.

We may have a change to our plans. New DSIL's father is scheduled to drive down from Georgia to pick-up the kids on their last day and bring them 'home' for a week stay. I grabbed a studio at OKW and issued an invitation for them to arrive the day before departure as our guests. We could do one day in a park; have dinner, breakfast the next day and then see them off before our flight leaves. Last minute! I need them to confirm, so I can get tickets and then try for FP+. There arrival would still be > 30 days so if I get an answer quickly, I might have a chance at a FP+ or two. EPCOT is likely park of choice.
