The Official September 2006 Thread...Who is Going and When

Just booked yesterday for Sept. 20-24.

Booked the Swan using the teacher's discount, but switched to the Doubletree Guest Suites in the WDW Resort instead using the Mousesavers link from the Feb. issue (I really ought to read that thing better!). A world of difference in quality, but with a three-year-old, we don't want to have to go to bed at 9 p.m. This way, we can tuck her in and relax in the living room area.

If a deal comes along for a Dis property, we might switch, though. :cool1:

We are going Sept.29 - Oct.8. Staying at POR!!!! Can't wait!!!!

 Sept 23 thru Oct 1st POR!!!

BUT! i went on world wide of sports site-- good place to check before booking any disney trip--- events going on that you would never expect that might make crowd levels a bit higher.....anyway..i saw this....

pixiedust: party: :tigger: :ccat: :tink: :donald: :dumbo: :mickeyjum :goofy: :eeyore: pooh:

We'll be at the Polynesian Sept 21-Oct 1 for our 20th Anniversary! :Pinkbounc
We are also a bit concerned about the Triathalon and was wondering how this may affect crowds. We've been there twice before in Sept with no crowds but I don't know if that was going on those trips.

I too am concerned about crowds during the triatholon, sept22-24. Anyone there last year have any thoughts on the crowd level? Thanks

We are! We are!

We went last September and I swore up and down that we WOULD be back in 2007, but for some reason I went to CAA the other day to renew my membership, saw the ads for the Happiest Celebration on Earth, got a quote for THIS September and whoops we're going to go this year instead :) :) :)

Had to do some smooth talking to convince DH that it makes more sense to go this year when the kids are 7, 5 and turning 2 than next year when the baby will require us to get a more expensive resort AND cost more to pay for her tickets etc. We can go pretty much for half the price of going next year, so my argument was why save up more money to go in a longer time than saving less money to go THIS year?
It'll take some savvy budgetting skills but last year's trip was the most magical time ever, I want to give the kids another trip filled with memories like that :)

So yeah , we are going September 22 - October 1 2006, staying at POP with the dining plan, Caitlin will be turning 2 while we're there (last year we opened the park on her birthday!) and thankfully planning should be easier this year since I know what we want to do and I can plan accordingly for the burnout we experienced last year lol.

Barely noticed it at all .. only mention of it was when our bus driver announced one morning he was making a detour to drop some people off at Contemporary for the Triathalon. Didn't affect us at all except that one time.

SMOOOOOOTH ! SerinaEmily :lmao:

Boy us gals sure know how to smooth talk--- i kept bringing up "our supposed" sept disney trip and he kept saying we'll see- we'll see. well i continued talking about it until he finally got used to the idea --- and we are now booked for sept!!! :rotfl2:

so the crowds were very low at the parks at that time....?

yeah the crowd was low, even with the free dining they had last year at the time. I mean it was still busy but we were able to walk on lots of rides and use fast pass for the others, we never stood in line more than 10 minutes using this strategy; going on the rides with no lines and using FP for the popular ones. Make sure you do the popular things in the morning, like go straight to FantasyLand at MK and do Dumbo, PeterPan and Winnie the Pooh all in a row, then enjoy the other stuff :)

Thanks for the info on the crowds during the triatholon. I also used the baby as a good reason to go back this year instead of waiting a year! Bridget will still be 2 when we go 9/22-9/30. I kept stressing how more expensive it would be if we had to pay for her if we waited until 2007. Also my DD is turning 13 when we are there! and it's our 15th anniversary. He didn;t have a chance when I threw all of this at him!!! :rotfl:

I am currently debating on a trip in either August or September. My biggest concern is the hurricane season. Anyone have any advise or experience they wish to share? Maybe this can help with my decision. :confused3

bump....... :teeth:

well i was concerned about the triathalon and the very beginning of the F+W festival during my next vacation Sept 23/Oct1st and i am SOOOO anal- i changed my dates to sept 16/ sept 24 !!!

before i made the decision i checked the world wide of sports site to check out any and all events for sept--- then checked all holidays in sept everything seems clear!! :thumbsup2

now the only thing i need to worry about....are hurricanes. and believe it or not-- i checked in my grocery store in the magazine section for a farmers almanac just to see if it mentioned anything for that particular week, but they didnt have one!! :rotfl2:

OMG do i need help?? is this the worst you have ever heard???

 We are going sept 21-27, staying at the Dolphin. We are soooo
pumped. It will be my wife and I as well as our 3 year old and 6 year old. I cannot wait to just walk to Epcot, that will be so cool. Have fun everyone!!

yes it is sept 16th to sept 24th. POR like i said the triathalon is the weekend of sept 22- but that is no big deal- its the end of our vacation. i just didnt want our vacation "sandwiched" into the triathalon and the food and wine festival.

and you can better believe i will get my hands on the farmers almanac in the near future just to check! :rotfl2:

The September hours are listed on the Dis Home page... here is a direct link to the hours they have listed for the month...http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/sep06.cfm . I had looked at Disney World.com and didn't see anything listed there yet.

**I added a link to the first post with the hours as well, just so it will be easier for everyone to find.
