**the Official Project Runway Thread -TONIGHT!!!!***

Actually, I'm half-watching it for the third time - and I'm not sure what you mean? Now, granted, I have an old analog TV (with a cable box) that I should've gotten rid of years ago, so I admit the picture isn't great - but if you're referring to who won, well, yeah, I can see how that was different and interesting enough to win. If you're talking about something else, well... a couple of tips: first, it's now late enough that the west coast has seen tonight's episode; or if you're still worried about spoilers, highlight the 'controversial' text and change the color to white :teeth:

I was asking why is Ping still there and why on earth would she make her model walk down the runway with her butt hanging out, however I didn't want to mention her name because I am on the East Coast and posted before anyone on the West would have seen it :)

Once the show has aired, I don't consider it a spoiler. Those that haven't watched the show shouldn't open this tread if they don't want to "know". Sometimes I tape and watch later. I don't read this until after I've watched. A spoiler is something that is found from another source other that the show or commercials.

Although you wouldn't consider it a spoiler, there are many that would and I didn't want to spoil anything for them.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but maybe she's drawing on her Chinese fashion experience/background ? In the summer here everyone from age 12-35 seems to wear tiny short shorts that would make Homer Simpson proud. No-one bats an eyelid - but heaven forbid anyone bare any flesh from the collarbone down! :lmao:

In her case it was clearly a mismeasurement and/or lack of finishing in time.

I just looked at the pics of the garments from the episode, I'm surprised by how well so many of them did. Easy to pic out the duds from that round!

I thought last night was great and there were quite a few good designs. BUT...OMG!! The bottom three were really bad. I think the wrong person went home. Ping and Jesus just have to go. They have no talent and either don't follow the directions whether it was a language thing or that they just don't listen to Tim.:confused3

Not only did they not listen to directions..but they didn't listen to Tim Gunn...he told both of them things and they just ignored it.

How in the world can you not check out the model from all angles before you send them out of the room...she didn't notice the butt exposed before the runway??? I didn't like Ping's "outfit" last week because it looked like things were just thrown over the model and not really constructed at all...and I didn't like this week at all.

How is having a models butt showing better than making a very skinny models butt look a little bigger?

Don't worry, all of these "designers" that are bad will be auf'd soon enough. If they want to keep drama alive for a few weeks, sobeit. Ping will be auf'd soon enough.

Finally watched them last night. Aside from Ping, Jesus, and Pamela (the bottom 3) I was very impressed with the others.:thumbsup2

I think they sent Pamela home over Ping because her outfit was not "Runway" and her construction was unforgivable. Plus the model totally blew it. She did not know how to show the dress in addition to the answer she gave the judges when asked about the design. DUH.

Ping has to actually put out something decent next show or she is gone. However the competition is just fierce and no way she can compete at that level.

I think you are right with the judges. Ping makes for good drama however at the same time she is a goner along with the Jesus so it did not matter to them who they sent home this go round.

I am glad they are giving Ping another chance, even though she is probably going home next week.

and then did any of you watch Models of the Runway? Ping let that poor girl walk out with her booty showing & then she says she want a stronger model. I just put Ping on my yuck list. What a Witch.

Ping's model was having knee issues and it showed in her walk. It was obvious she was in pain.

My guess is that it flew thru the designers and that is why she went home.

So I am going to give her a pass there.

Ok I will give her that but, I think Ping is going to be of type person who blames everyone else. I really wanted her to do well on this Challenge I thought her 1st project was totally her, I did not like it but they were told to do a design that showed the judges who they are & she did that. And on this one at first she blamed the models skintone On why it did not work & in the first Challenge she made that poor girl do a dance at the end of the runway.

I caught that too. She had a white model, if she thought that a burlap bag was going to be enough contrast against any caucasian skin tone then she should have sent home just for that
I just felt so bad for that model having to wear that dress to the party. I would have hid my behind in the corner all night (literally :rotfl:)

If you saw the model she put on black tights to hide her butt.

Not going to argue that Ping is out there and a totally odd.:lmao:

Thank goodness, I didn't see the show so I'm glad that she could cover up, and no arguments from me either

But dang it she is the one I wanted to like. I really thought she did well the first week. I kinda of liked the one that Lauren Hutton really liked better & thought that girl should have won. But the winners was good also. this week there was quite a few I thought did really well.

I know what you mean, but the crying thing just sends me over the top. It is clear she can't handle the pressure of the show.

Frankly it is going to be between Ping and Jesus again next week if one of them does not actually design something flattering.:lmao:

The rest of the designers are pretty darn good so I am excited for the show this season.:woohoo:

So much better than the last seasons. I really like it when the designers can follow directions & still let there own style show thru. And could we have someone be able to make pants this season.

Kae

I found it amazing that the designers were so creative in making burlap NOT look like burlap. I especially liked the potato stamped pattern. I thought that was clever and it would dry quickly.

That is waht I think. I figure that they will keep whoever makes for good TV but sooner or later the weak ones will be gone.

I think she just does not get it. It was not the model who had issues, in spite of her knee. It was the silly thing, it kind of reminde me of the I Love Lucy show where Lucy and Ethel wear feed bags in Paris.

I was so glad that one of the models had enough nerve to not be "loyal" to their original designer, with whom they had only been for one week, and choose somebody different. I did think Anthony was an interesting choice for a switch, though. I was surprised that Mila made such a fuss about it. And then Ping made a switch-up, too. It was really boring last season, when they were forced to choose models for each episode, and then they always chose the same one. The producers finally had to tell them that they weren't allowed to choose the same model. I hope that this season there will be more attention paid to who is actually a good model. I think Emilio's (former) model is pretty good, but I thought it looked weird, how she was leaning back so much as she walked the runway this week. I don't know what is up with Ben's model Sophia. The runway coach seemed really impressed with her walk during that coaching session, but when she's actually walking the PR runway, she looks like she's walking down the hallway of her doctors office, heading towards a pap smear.

I knew that Pamela was done for, as soon as Michael Kors commented about her dress making the model look bigger. There is no worse transgression, as far as Heidi is concerned. And I just don't get the outfit that Pamela wore for the judging. Their personal style is being judged out there, too. Jonathan gets it - "shoes or boots..." Heidi also made a comment about Mila's look. (Although, maybe she meant the runway look, and I misinterpreted her.) I don't have DVR, so I can't go back and replay things. Pamela looked like she pulled that outfit together at K-mart. Sheesh! Why would the judges expect to see great designs from you if you show up looking so run-of-the-mill? :confused3
