:scared1:Well if we are going to whine in our wine....single cruisers pay almost double so that $8454.00 would become over $16,000.00 for just little ol' me.....
that is a lot of free Mickey bars!o_O

Would be great if DCL offered some solo cabins. My aunt cruises NCL a lot for that very reason.

Royal Caribbean's Radiance-class ships (Radiance, Brilliance, Serenade, and Jewel) have 3 inside studio cabins (@ 109 sq. ft.) on deck 4. I booked one for my 9-night Greek Isles cruise in October on Jewel of the Seas. My price: $1,249.85

Good lord - what an amazing price.

We are doing the EBTA this year with DCL. I'm really excited. Next year's doesn't look as interesting, but in any event, I did find similar EBTA crossings with other lines that were cheaper, but I feel as though DCL does sea days well and my kids will be able to make friends easily.... I read a review of an NCL TA on one of their mid-size ships and there were 8 children on board. As adults only I think I'd have a harder time justifying it though.

I have done Transatlantic cruises on Celebrity, RCI, Princess, and Disney - and Disney is my favorite simply for the sea days. (Disney's Panama Canal cruises have equally fun sea days.) My most recent Disney TA was $500 pp ago, on the May 2015 15-night Port Canaveral to Copenhagen cruise - with a really nice itinerary. Although St. John's, NL and Reykjavik had to be replaced at the last minute with Halifax, NS and Stavanger, Norway - it was a fabulous cruise. Due to already having May and November 2020 Transatlantic cruises booked on Royal Caribbean with my husband - I'm not in the market for another Disney cruise in 2020.

I put a hold on Norwegians Escapes Baltic cruise next August. 5300 with balcony.and drink package 2 adults and 2 adult size teens. It might be a little tight but 3rd and 4th passengers are free; therefore it doesn’t make financial sense to get 2 rooms. I’ve only cruised Disney and Royal. I haven’t looked at Royal yet. I’m going to get on that. Disney is out I’m afraid.

I do agree with previous poster I think if you have kids transatlantics are best done on Disney. If you can find a transatlantic during a school break it would probably be fine. I think Carnival has one in June next year out of Barcelona.

I’d like to do Greek Isles one day, but there’s no way I’m spending $16k on it. For comparison I priced out a Celebrity cruise that starts in Venice and then does a bunch of Greek islands. 4 people in a family verandah was just under $10k. I don’t think I can justify paying Disney prices too much longer. We have one planned next January but that might be it.

This thread should be pinned.
Agreed.

Just an FYI since I've been pricing out cruises all day. Carnival has a brand new ship in Europe next year called the Mardi Gras. It looks like it's only doing one cruise before heading back to US. It's a very interesting 9 night itinerary. Prices start at about 1400pp not cheap by Carnival standards. It's probably pricey because it's a maiden voyage. I'm guessing it's still less than every Disney cruise. The pictures of the staterooms are pretty nice.

We did an adult's only 7 night Southern Caribbean on Celebrity last April. Absolutely loved it! However, we have a 13 year old, who would hate Celebrity. So, I'm biding my time until we can go again by ourselves. We had a Sky suite booked but got a good deal to upgrade to their 2nd highest suite. This was on Summit, which is older.

Booked the 24 September 5 night Bahamas double dip. 5E cabin. $2447 with placeholder discount. I thought it was a good price with 2 visits to castaway.
I hadn't planned on booking anything this time around, but this was almost too good to pass up. We'll reshop onboard in May to see if the OBB discount is a better deal. Still not sure we'll keep the sailing, but for now, we're in.

I've wanted to do Alaska in 2020. For less than what Disney wants for an inside cabin, I got a Junior Suite on RCCL. Even if you figure in some additional expenses like a beverage package... yeah, a much larger room, a balcony, midshi? My math suggests the extra expenses don't come nearly to the point of costing what a better room on DCL would cost.

Heck, I can do a helicopter to Mendenhall and still not come out to the cost of the upgrade to OV.

I did not realize you can do this. I've been back and forth about booking a Wonder cruise for April 2020. If I book now, I can check the price on the Magic in November and rebook with the 10% discount? What happens to the OBB from my travel agent?
