I sent an email to the concierge office about the renovation there (in Hawaii) and if it would affect my trip, here is the response:
"At this time, no final details have been confirmed. However I do believe the rehab is set for earlier in the fall and should not effect any December travel plans. Please note however than no final arrangements have been made and can be subject to change at anytime.

This rehab has me all worried. We have reservations for 10/14 to 10/23. Its me, DD(6) arrive on Friday and then on Sunday we are joined by DH, adult friend, DS(4), and DD(2). I just don't know what to do. Here's what I'm thinking of:
1) Keep Poly GVC reservations and hope for the best.
2) BWI concierge but I think we'd miss the Poly beach and monorail to MK.
3) BWI deluxe concierge-it would be nice to have a bigger room.
4) SSR-2 bedroom-lots more room and washer/dryer and the pool looks nice and DH would like the quiet of the place and it is actually cheaper than deluxe CL at BWI. BUT...we'd have to bus everywhere and miss that beach.
5) VWL-2 beedroom-all the space of above AND beach but more money.
6) GF main building concierge-more money than Poly & BWI & BWI deluxe but less than option #5 and DH would LOVE it and we'd have the beach.
7) regular room at Poly but with our group we'd miss the CL to spread out in.
What would you fellow Poly lovers do? I'm tempted to stick to option #1. Anyone around for the last round of rehab just 2 years ago? How bad was it when concierge was in a temporary building?
When I asked my DD what she wanted to do the day we arrive she said play on the Poly beach and go swimming. I thought she'd picked Splash and BTM but she wants to do that on day 2.
I made my reservations months ago because I knew exactly what we wanted but now I just don't know what to do.
