Hey all, quick question:

What time does the monorail start running and when do they stop for the day? Am I correct in assuming if Epcot is open later for EMH, the MK one will keep running for resort guests to get back?

The resort monorail begins running at 7am and runs until at least 11pm. If the MK is open late, it runs for I believe 2 hours past closing.

Yes, the Epcot monorail will still be running for EMH. I'm not sure how late past closing it runs but ask the monorail CMs when you head to Epcot. They'll know the latest scoop.

Do they pump in the music for wishes in the beach area? We would love to watch wishes from there when we go but we just love the music that goes along with it.

delurking out of pure excitement!!!!!!!!!

look at my ticker!!!!!!!!!!!!

woo-hoo our POLY trip is almost here!

does anyone recently returned have any information (maybe it is still to soon?hhmm) about the role out of new linens and towels at the Poly per information on Tiki**n's site??

just curious, I'll be okay with whatever if I get to watch fireworks from the pool and watch my toddlers play in the sand and my teens go down the slide. . .

DH and I just returned from a short stay at POR for anniversary and took a walk over to the POLY. DH kept saying DD12 is gonna love this or DS4 is gonna love that or wow! this is really nice. . .

after the buses to and from POR:sad2: , that monorail is looming large in our minds, who needs AK and MGM anyway??!! :rotfl2:

time for the    :yay: :yay: :cool1: :cool1: dance!

Have really appreciated all the information found on this thread. My wife and I stayed at the GF in 2002 and hopped the monorail just so we could sit at
the poly bar and drink!! We loved the ambieance (sp?) and thanks to some helpful cm's we were able to get back to the GF via the monorail after it had shut down (they radio'd ALL the stations just for us because we had lost track of the time at the bar talking w/other guests!)

Keep it up!

Bob.

Family trip (1st since '03) to the POLY 12/2-12/08 2007!!

Posted this on the board too.. but thought i should also post on this thread for all you poly gurus!!

Hi, i am thinking i would like to have a stuffed animal delivered to my room for my dd when we arrive at the Poly (We are staying concierge in the hawaii building) - I would love some kind of poly themed Mickey or Minnie or lilo .. do they have any of these in the poly gift shop? And the bigger question, can i call conciege and buy it, then have it delivered to be in my room when we get there? Will they do that??

Questions for those in the know. . .

General Managers name at the Polynesian? Is it still Jeffrey something?

I can not find that thread or post or what have you.

Also fax number for the Poly??? I have a specific medical need request attached to my reservation (for a 2 year old), and actually felt as tho CRO did understand and listen to my needs, I would just feel better faxing the info as well.

We are 7 days out from our stay so this would be the right time to send this in? Or would anyone suggest calling direct? I do not have a direct number either.

any and all help appreciated.

Call Poly concierge... I believe that I've heard of them taking care of things for you.

Although I'm not recently returned (we leave on 9/22 for our 7-night stay at the Poly), I DO remember reading somewhere on these boards tonight that the new linens are in place and LUXURIOUS! Can't wait!

We just got back from our WDW trip and spent 2 nights at the Poly, Sept 8 and 9th. On Sept 9 we were given new bath towels, that were actually new, never used...you could tell from the creases and that new towel feel. They were a bit softer. We didn't get to experience any new bed linens because we checked out on Sept 10 and we didn't have them change our bed linens on the 9th. When I walked by a Poly housekeeping cart on Sept 9th, I saw that it had a note on it that said "Do not use until September 9th, 2007".

BTW I want to ask this question for a while but I don't want to get in trouble.... why can't we type or mention that tiki website anymore? :confused3 Just curious! I've seen several places where its been shortened or mentioned in a round about way. :confused3

Because his site has a recommendation for a travel agent so it is viewed as "for profit" but I don't think it is.

Yes they do have speakers playing the music for the MK fireworks on the Poly Beach.

That just made my day!!!!!!:cloud9:

Mine, too! I've never stayed at POLY, but have a lagoon view in mid- November. Will we be able to see the castle or fireworks from our room, or will we have to go out to the beach?

OH! Thank you Thank you!! I freely admit to being a linen and towel snob!! :rotfl: Now I can't wait to fall into those beds! woo-hoo!

and just in case anyone wants/needs to know

Dave Venables , Genreal Manager (am I allowed to post that?)

Guest services was very helpful as well as at least three other Polynesian CM's I have spoken with prior to this trip.

btw, I'm not really a very fussy guest, just one with a DD2 with medical issues I have to be careful to address before arrival in a room.

Thank you one and all for your great advice and knowledge and love of all things Polynesian, it has made planning and anticipating this trip all the better! Aloha!

Seriously?? That is a shame.... I don't see what is the big deal about mentioning his full site.. Was it a decision of this board somewhere?? Tikiman is such an active memeber, and has given out so much helpful info.. it would be a shame to not properly credit his site. :sad2:

Hi everyone! I'm just tuning in. I just booked my first ever Poly stay today for April 26-May 3. We requested Tahiti, 2nd or 3rd floor. Can't wait, and I've received some great information already on this thread. Thanks to everyone!! :wave2:

Hi,
I have been to Poly before but never used the hairdryers they have in the rooms. Wondering how good they work with very thick longer hair? Anyone know how many watts and if it has a cool temp? Otherwise I might just pack mine. Thanks.

I think it's because the DIS is owned by Dreams Unlimited Travel. It makes sense that they wouldn't want to advertise for other travel agents, or want those advertisements linked on here.

I am considering leaving them there one night so DH and I can just walk around MK. I haven't seen it mentioned that often and wanted to know if it would appeal to them. Any additional information about the activities there would be nice.
TIA
Elizabeth
