Hi! We had booked at BCV for our 11/15-11/21 trip but i read some not too good posts about the bus transportation over there. My DD age 3 will still need her stroller. Having stayed at the Poly back in 2001 and loving it, i switched our trip to the Poly garden view!! My DH has never been to disneyworld so i know he is in for a treat!! I put in requests for the Tokelau or Tahiti buildings because it looks like there is no possibility of a parking lot view and they are both closer to TTC. Any thoughts on these buildings?? We stayed at Tahiti in 2001 and loved it. We are soo excited. Has anyone had the breakfast at Ohana?? We booked this as well.
Jill:cool1:

Can't go wrong with Tokelau. Ohana breakfast is pretty good, too.

It's been 3 yrs since we have been to our favorite WDW resort! We are looking forward to our stay. I was hoping that someone who has been there recently could help me out.

First I'm interested in finding out how the coffee is in the concierge lounge? Do they have a machine like the AKL CL does? Is there any oatmeal or yogurt available for breakfast? Was there some variety for kids during the evening snacks?

I remember reading about some treats you could order, but I can't seem to find them. I thought it was through dining. I believe they were specific to the Polynesian? Similar to the strawberry tuxedos at the GF.

Thanks a bunch.

Here's a picture of the coffee machine in the Polynesian concierge lounge:

I'll be there again in 3 1/2 weeks, I'll check to see if there's yogurt or oatmeal since I don't remember from previous trips. I'm sure I'll be taking pictures of everything. lol

Nescafe:eek:

Oh well I was hoping maybe they got good coffee since the remodel. Maybe I'll just treat myself to a bag of Kona while I'm there:love:

Thanks for finding out about breakfast. I'm hoping to get something else to eat besides bland cereal and bagels every morning. At least the view from the lounge will make up for that.

I'll be waiting to hear your trip report and Tess's report as well.
Have a great visit!

I know what you're saying, we were disappointed in the machine installed after the rehab. The coffee isn't the best, but if you get a double shot of espresso--it isn't quite so bad. . . ;)

It won't be long now for us. . .

Does anyone know if you can fit suitcases under the beds a the Poly? We will have a buch of baby gear this trip and are looking to organize! Thanks!

Also, i gotta say, while Nescafe isn't the best, the Cafe Mocha (#3 on machine) isn't too bad for an afternoon treat.. but i agree the *regular* coffee needs a rehab! LOL I can't wait to try my first sip of Kona!!!

gennygt, pretty sure you can't put anything under the bed, if I remember correctly it was a box frame clear to the floor. We had 9 days of luggage and baby gear - we managed to find places for stuff, in the closets, behind the curtains, and between the wall and one of the beds. We did not have a balcony - that would have been the perfect place to keep the stroller, I was jealous of those that had one!

nursejilly, out of 4 character breakfasts Ohana was our least favorite for food quality. It was probaby our waiter, we only saw him a couple times and had to flag down other wait staff to get food. The food we got was cold and uninspiring, but if he would have been on the ball it might have been better, kwim? The character interaction was rushed too - not more so than other places BUT since I had heard Ohana had the best character interaction I was dissapointed. I probably wouldn't do it for breakfast again. Conversely, dinner there was really great, it is one of my very favorite dinner spots and we'll eat there every trip from now on!

Dont forget, Bell Services can store your empty bags if you want. :thumbsup2

I didn't know this! I've been wondering how we'd fit all our stuff in one room. Geez - we requested a patio maybe I should request a balcony for a place to keep the stroller. TA thought the kids would enjoy the patio so they could run around & play then DH and I could just sit & watch them.

We had requested a balcony but got the patio. It was wonderful! We were able to sit on the patio while the little Princess enjoyed playing outdoors and got to visit the ducks. We felt like we had our own courtyard.

Sounds fun - I think we'll keep our request as is. Sounds very nice to be able to let the kids play. All the paths at Poly look fun to explore w/supervision of course. I'm a little nervous about them wondering too close to the pool but we'll just have ground rules that the pool is off limits w/o mom or dad and we'll be watching them anyway of course. My nickname at home is "The Hover" - I probably hover my kids too much but things happen so fast & pools (well any body of water) are in my nightmares! Sorry for rambling - not sure where that came from. Thanks for you writing your experience w/a patio.

I stayed at the Poly last August while the rehab was going on for Captain Cooks/Hook. Wasn't much of a selection of things to eat. Now that it is finished is it any better? I will be there again this August. Also, does anyone have any pics of it?

Hi everyone. My Wife and I have a GV booked for September. Are there GV rooms with King Beds? I have surfed the web on this question and think the answer is no. Also do people thing the double beds are too small for two adults?
Thanks
Danielle

When we checked in last Sunday around 7:00 p.m. I had requested ground floor, we were going with three 16 year old teenagers so we needed the extra room, they gave me Fiji 2nd floor no balcony so I asked if they had anything else that I really wanted a bottom floor with these three teenagers and he looked and he found one right away, bottom floor Aoteaoa. So if they don't put you in a room with a bottom ask. Also remember some of the longhouses have more room like the Rapa Nui, Tokela, and Tahiti, but they are further from the GCH. Have a great time - I am going thru the after disney blues:sad2: .

Can't remember, which longhouse has the double sinks?

Tahiti definitely has double sinks. I think the other building is Rapa Nui.

From what I understand, the only king beds at the Polynesian are in the suites. However, all of the other rooms have QUEEN sized beds, not full/double, so you should be fine with that. Have a great time!!! :sunny:
