As for the movie on the beach, they are still doing it, we could see Finding Nemo from our balcony night before last. It's not every night though, I will see if I can find out a schedule before we check out. (here now, whoohoo!)

Just wanted suggestions on a location to request. We booked Garden View-Non smoking - which buildings are our options?
We'd love to be close to the main pool - I think we'll be spending most of our time there. I'm sure it will be hot!!!

The only buildings that have any smoking rooms anymore are Nuie and Hawaii which is the concierge building.

Samoa is an all gardenview building that is closest to the volcano pool. But it is a smallish building and frequently requested.

You might want to request Tokelau. Right by the other pool, a two minute walk to the volcano pool, close to two beaches and centrally located so it's a short walk to the TTC and bus stop.

Or do what we do if we're not in an accessible room or Hawaii....leave it to the magic of the Polynesian. We just request nonsmoking and the floor we prefer.

Got free dining & will be staying at the Poly for the first time in Sept. Very excited. We will be at FQ in exactly 21 days but have 3 meals scheduled at the Poly during this time. We will be checking out the resort as much as possible. Don't know which trip I'm looking forward to the most. FQ is so beautiful too. To have such problems......

I currently have YC free dining ressies...but my son all of a sudden wanted the "rain forest" hotel...so PLEASE help me find a good building for me.
We need Medical Non-Smoking, and prefer to be close to GCH/Pool/and TTC
I am thinking
1)Tokelau
2)Samoa
3)Rarotonga(non-parking lot)
Is this good?...DH is not a walker, and kids want to be close to everything...we are not beach people so that is a little lower on our list. Thanks for your help...keep your fingers crossed I am calling tonight to see about the switch.

We put the crib - (which by the way was not a 'pack and play' as we anticipated but a wooden crib a little larger than a traditional pack and play) between the bed and sliding glass door. We could close half the curtain which made that corner darker and then I put a chair at the other end of the crib and propped a pillow up to help block out any light from the other side of the room. Our dd slept great for naps and all night long!

I'm sure this has been asked before, but since this is a huge thread....

Are there any "bad" locations at the Poly? We're staying there for the first time in Sept. It's a short trip and we're planning to spend most of our time at the resort by the pool or beach. In fact, we're staying 3 nights and the only time we plan to leave is for MNSSHP and dinner at Boma. So I guess being near transportation isn't a huge priority for us. DH has mobility issues (can't walk long distances). I would definitely like being near the volcano pool, yet fairly quiet if that's possible.

How soon should I request this? Seems like everybody is putting in requests months ahead of time.

Perhaps just ask for a quiet room near the pool...almost an oxymoron.

But I would sure note your husband's walking difficulty first. Perhaps a gardenview in Raratonga would work well for you. It is literally steps away from the GCH. One side faces the quiet pool and has lovely garden views. It is perhaps a two minute walk to the volcano pool.

Samoa and Nuie are a little closer to the volcano pool. Nuie is also very close to the GCH but is smoking. Samoa is a little further away.

I just heard a horrbile review of Ohana's dinner on the DIS podacst. I have an ADR for there but I am rethinking this. Any thoughts? My DS will be one so the child atmosphere is not a problem for us, is the food that bad?

Do you know if it was the breakfast or the dinner? Because we ate there last June and it very nice. We all had a good time and the food - although standard breakfast type was tasty and plentiful. The character interaction was nice as well.
