Our room in Nuie had the camode in the same room. Around the corner, but in the same room. Also, if your tall, watch out for the shower head.

Same with our room in Tuvalu with regards to where the toilet was located. I also had a single sink instead of a double but it wasn't a big deal.

Is there an area of the Hawaii building that I should request over others?
I think that the second floor doesn't have a balcony and the 3rd is smoking optional, is that correct?

Looking at the map it looks like this building is close to both the quiet and volcano pool, can anyone verify

Looking at Tikiman's website it looks like the boat dock for the Mk ferry is right in the Hawaii building, if this is correct it may be a better way to get to from the MK instead of walking over to the monorail. Can anyone verify this?

The second floor does not have a balcony. First floor rooms have a patio and third balconies. There is a portion of the third floor that is smoking optional.

You are very close to both the volcano pool and quiet pool when you stay in Hawaii. The volcano pool is literally steps from the entrance to Hawaii and the quiet pool just a bit longer the opposite direction.

The boat dock is at the west side of the volcano pool. The dock is close to the Hawaii building--maybe 2-3 minutes to walk from your room to the launch site. As to whether or not the boat is a quicker trip to the MK than the monorail--it really depends on your timing. If you happen upon a boat just arriving, the trip could be faster than the monorail. In either event, the trip to MK is not long.

Hope that helps you!

Hi all! We are booked for 8 nights in late July and are very excited!....but...we have been looking at pictures of the Volcano pool and it looks small....we are a little worried that it may be really crowded. Anyone have first hand experience? We booked on the monorail so that we could take an afternoon break every day to swim at the resort. If the pool is super crowded and there is no where to sit and relax that would be disappointing. Wondering if we should save the money and stay at Coronado Springs where the pool looks bigger and possibly less crowded as well as have a direct bus from the parks. Anyone have experience with summer crowds and the pool there? Thanks!

I am having our travel agent request a specific room for us. What are the chances that we will actually get that room? Is there anything we can do to increase our chances of getting it---or at least a room with a comparable view?

Getting a specific room, in my experience, is pretty difficult. Typically it is better to request things that you feel you would like in the order of importance:

Such as...Non-smoking, Fiji, 3rd floor, Marina side

When I stayed at the Polynesian in Aug 2006 I figured I would have no problem getting the long house I requested. Boy was I wrong LOL. We asked for Samoa, 1st or 3rd floor, facing the volcano pool. Originally we were assigned Rarotonga, 2nd floor, facing the quiet pool. I asked if there was anything available in Fiji, and after about 5 minutes of searching we were given a room facing the marina on the 2nd floor of Fiji.

Unfortunately, not all requests can be accomodated. I've found its best if you are flexible and don't expect to be given absolutely everything you have asked for. Disney Cast Members typically bend over backwards in attempts to accomodate their guests, but the requests aren't guarenteed. Hope this helped

Here's a clip from an email from Tikiman's website, I thought it was interesting.

Some news from a friend at the Polynesian. She reported
that as of last Friday a new service started. They now
have a waitress at the pool area. It is on a trial
basis so lets hope it lasts.

Been to the Poly at summer, pool can get crowded..depending on time of day and other people's park schedules...although we did not stay there last trip, had to visit..2 x!! I love it...got my Lava Flow at the poolside bar and walked to Sunset Pointe where I was married:)....it was crowded at 5 pm....I did see alot of people trickle on to the beach area too! There is another quiet pool on property as well.
I have seen awesome photos of the pool area at CS too...just depends if you want the monorail/bus...and if you really, really want to save some cash!

anyone dealing with the IPO? Hows the service been?

I've been "talking" with Cara at IPO. She's been very nice - they haven't done anything for me yet as we are not going until December so we can't book ADR's until June. Both times I've initiated the conversation via email because of a question I've had. Cara has gotten back to me within a few hours.

I'm looking forward to dealing with them more frequently when my ADR window opens!

I just decided to splurge for our November trip and switched resorts to the Poly. We're celebrating both our anniversary and my birthday and I've always wanted to stay here. It will be the 1st stay on-site for DD and DS.

Is there any location that I DON'T want at the Poly? I'm not picky; I'll be thrilled just to be there.

And, can anyone tell me what kind of activities that the Neverland Club has during the day? I read somewhere that it's open from 12-4 with parental supervision.

Thanks so much. I can't wait!!! :cloud9:

Hasil,
We stayed at the Poly last year for the first time and returning this summer. My kids were intrigued with the volcano so I requested Samoa facing the pool. They loved looking out the windows and seeing the volcano! And Samoa is located between the two pools so it was a good location for us.
Have not tried the Neverland Club. But the kids enjoyed the game room next to Captain Cook's.

I was dealing with Patricia but 3 days went by and i heard nothing so i re emailed and got Allison who I dealt with last year but now another day plus has gone by with no response again
I am really surprised
last year I never waited more than 5 hours for a response

I sent an email Monday night and Wednesday night and just received an email back this morning. I think they must be slow in responding this week.

I have been dealing with Lissette and she had been getting right back to me. Now a week has gone by with two emails sent by me with no responses. :confused3

we are going in july and if i hit reply when they email me I dont hear back
